Firehouse Bar & Restaurant A few Tuesdays ago I took my mate Glassy and his lovely Fiancee’ Alicia with Bree and I to do a review of the Firehouse restaurant in Belmont. We weren’t sure what to expect, and upon arriving there, we realized that the Firehouse is the restaurant at the Country Comfort Intercity Motel. Looking at the occupied tables, we noted that it seemed to us that the Firehouse is popular with the many Miner’s WA is attracting during this boom time, as at the majority of tables were men!

We were promptly shown to our table by the welcoming wait staff and asked if we would like any drinks to start with. The girls decided on a white wine, while Darren and I went for a bottle of the Cockfighters Ghost reserve shiraz. Both wines were reasonably priced and went down well with our meals.

To start, Glassy, Alicia and Myself all had the Sesame crumbed prawns and calamari ($15) served with salad and was delicious. Bree had the tasting plate ($14) which consisted of Kangaroo (very tender), Chorizo Sausage, crumbed mushrooms and chicken meatballs. We all helped Bree out with the tasting plate as there was ample there for it to be shared around. We also started with a serve of garlic bread which was very tasty aswell!

Fine Dining

Moving to the mains, I decided on the stir fry which was a great size but could have done with a little more bite. The girls went for the fish of the day, which upon presentation looked great, but they said is was a little dry. Glassy had the prime Harvey Beef sirloin, was a great size and he said was cooked really well. It was served with chunky chips and vegetables and he was well and truly satisfied once he had finished.

After mains our great waiter Jimmy offered us the dessert menu, and of course we had to have a look! After a bit of discussion I couldn’t resist the ice-cream sandwich and Darren went for his favourite Apple Pie. Bree and Alicia both decided on a Affogatto – Bree’s dessert of the moment! The desserts were fantastic! The ice-cream sandwich was covered in caramel and chocolate sauce and filled with creamy vanilla ice-cream.

At the end of the night we were all well and truly full to the brim! The firehouse is a great place to catch up with mates over a relaxed dinner with excellent service.
