Food:

I had fresh vegetable tart was very tasty . My partner had a salmon rocket pasta which must have been excellent because he didn't even ask for a bite of my tart. The dessert menu was small but irresistible- we had choc fondant ice cream ,fresh fruits plate. The salad bar was good .

Service:

Don't expect table service- you order and pay at the counter and they'll bring it over to your table. You have to get up to order drinks from the bar.

Ambience:

Nice peanuts I love the beer garden at the back

Overall:
My experience here was great. Would definitely do a re-visit and would feel comfortable with a big group

This used to be a good venue for a pub lunch- wide choices, good size servings etc. but our last visit was disappointing. A kitchen which assembles food rather than cooks is ok but the menu is heavily biased towards fry ups. The choice of meats was quite broad but the salad bar was limited and mundane, the 'chef's specials' were off the menu the day we visited. The biggest issue was the flies, 3 on the salads and 1 in the meat enclosure. Rather off putting!

Service was fine - typical for this type of place [pay at the counter then table delivery] if not a bit obsequious.

Ambience:

Great venue - good decor, good trams, good location, good parking!

Overall:
We have been there several times as it was a great venue for a fairly large group but we will be looking for somewhere else now.

I often go to the Albion for a meal or drink because it's close. You can order a steak and cook it yourself on the indoor BBQ or they'll cook it for you. They also have a salad bar to go with your steak or any other meals you'd like to order off the menu. One of my favourites from the menu is the Beef and Guiness pie which is cooked in a ramekin with a delicious puff pastry top. Servings are generous and you can sit in the indoor train, restaurant tables or in the beer garden. There is a large price range so you can go for a cheap feed or something pricey. The other night I just got a bar meal of a steakburger for $14. It consisted of a minute steak with fresh salad veg, mayo and bbq sauce within a turkish bread roll served with chips. It tasted great and I couldn't finish it. Don't expect table service- you order and pay at the counter and they'll bring it over to your table. You have to get up to order drinks from the bar.
