Welcome to Alfred's Kitchen

Alfred's Kitchen

In the heart of Guildford

Alfred's Kitchen has been serving up famous food since 1946. Located on the corner of Meadow and James Streets in the historic pioneer town of Guildford (1829), Western Australia, we're open for business every night from 5.00pm until late. We're Perth 's longest running roadside hamburger kitchen, and with its wandoo log seats and blazing open fire, Alfred's Kitchen is always a popular destination for a late night meal. We've got the only flame in Guildford that burns each night, winter or summer, which signifies that Alfred's Kitchen is open for business.

You'll really enjoy our homemade food selections, with over 40 burgers to choose from, as well as our renowned famous pea and ham soup made from our own secret recipe and cooked slowly on a wood-burning stove. There's something for every hungry appetite at Alfred's, so drop by to enjoy the great food and unique atmosphere.

What a fabulous place to have a fabulous steak sandwich and the most fantastic pea soup after my dad's one! The food is always very good no matter when you go or what you choose.

Service:

The staff at Alfred's Kitchen are simply amazing and they must love their job. Even if it's jam packed and it's mad rush, they are always smiling and very friendly.

Ambience:

It's a great place to be and watch who's coming while you are waiting for your order to be ready. We love it!

Overall:
Overall, we keep coming, even though we live in Joondalup, we don't mind driving the extra mile for a perfect burger!

The burger was awesome, the meat grilled well done and not burnt, the cheese was tasty and real, melted nicely down, the salad and bun was fresh, overall the burger was a delicious and filling meal on its own. The chips were 5-star, chunky potato and crispy just like the old days, tasted so damn good, knew I should have ordered 2.

Service:

It was fast, ordered straight away, she also knew what the foods on the menu were made up of, waiting time is consistent with good food and busy hours.

Ambience:

The decor reminds of an outback pit stop, like your on a road trip, very classy. The atmosphere's extremely casual, anything goes, sort of pretty laid back with a random radio station running in the background.

Overall:
It was a mouthwatering experience... I got there at night and it was packed out, luckily most people ordered already, I got a Double Beef Burger (2 beef patties, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, bacon) and a side of Chips. About 45 minutes later my food was ready, it smelt fantastic. After the 30 minute trip home, I dug into my well-wrapped food and still after a good 1/2 hour the burger and chips was hot and yummy. Real burgers for real people!

Over rated burgers, you can do better elsewhere!

We had a good experience a few years ago, and we decided to go again on a weeknight a few weeks ago, as it was the only thing open at 11pm. We ordered beef burgers and chips.

The chips were fine, hot and crispy. The burger bun and bits in the bun like lettuce, onion etc. were fine. But the burger pattie was very disappointing. It was grisly, and tasted like it was left on the grill way too long..... it was blackened and tough! The meat in the burger pattie seemed of a low quality and not what we expected.

We will not be going back there again for a beef burger! We may be tempted to try some other burger, if we are hungry again late at night.

I love a good burger and honestly these are fantastic, chips are great and milkshakes too and the rest of the menu looks good but I just can't get to try it as every time we go there I just have to have a burger. Great for hot summer nights or even cold winter ones with the outdoor fire - A great casual takeaway or eat it outside the diner place.

Best burgers in Perth by far! And well worth the drive if you don't live close-by!

The burgers are freshly cooked to order and take two hands to hold on to, there's hot soup ready to go (if you choose to order it) and a fantastic open fire by the roadside to sit in front of whilst waiting for your order. The hamburger with cheese and bacon is a recommendation!

Great vegetarian options, hot chips, construct your own burger options and loads of parking surrounding the premises.

Always busy whenever we've decided to duck in - late or early in the evening.

Service can be a bit abrupt (for me, it crosses the fine line between 'efficient' and 'abrupt'! ...some might say it's efficient!) but who cares?! It's a fast food joint that serves up tasty, filling, great value grub!

Go now!

Perth certainly needs more places like these.

No other burger compares to Alfreds.

There is nothing better than driving there late at night when everything else is closed, ordering a burger and chips and devouring it hungrily sitting in front of the fire outside.

i have never tried the soups but from what i see they look absolutely delish.

well what can i say about alfred's? fantastic, hearty, delicious. how about lipsmackingly amazing. i have lived in the area pretty much my whole life and alfred's is like a ritual for me. there is no better burger in perth than the almighty cram. i mean what more could a bloke want in a burger. it's got steak, hamburger, bacon, cheese, egg and salad. then there's the chips always crunchy and cooked to perfection. i took a couple of mates( pommy bastards) from work late one night and they were blown away. keep up the good work guys. you rock

Had Alfred's burgers on Saturday night. Continue to be the best burgers in Perth. They are huge!! I couldn't eat brekkie the next day. The fire was nice to stand by in the sprinkling rain while waiting for the burgers to be made, even though I smelt of smoke for the rest of the evening.

Looking forward to them opening during the day on weekends once they have finished their new building.

Possibly the best burgers in Perth. Alfred's Kitchen has been doing its thing for 60 years - and I only heard about it yesterday.

Some friends and I stopped there on the way home after watching James Brown light up the stage at the Good Vibrations Festival . Honestly, these burgers are fantastic. I had the Alfred's Special (40 burgers to choose from) which has just about everything you can think of in it.

Open from 5pm 7 days a week. Highly recommended! :D
