Overall:
The wagyu sashimi I shared for entree was one of the most delicious things I think I have ever tasted! It sat atop a bed of thinly sliced onion, and, when combined, (and especially when dipped in the soy dipping sauce with a dab of extra hot wasabi), was like heaven in my mouth! The beef was so tender and fresh it almost melted. At first I was quite afraid of eating raw beef, however it didn't taste raw one bit - and the texture was that of a rare steak - not gelatinous as one would expect, it was so full of flavour and perfect texture.

For main I had the grilled beef fillet (rare) with marron tail and white truffle hollandaise. The fillet was cooked to perfection, and it was a really good thick slice as far as beef fillets go. It was so tender it literally (again) melted in my mouth. The marron tail with white truffle hollandaise on the side was also terrific. The juicy marron meat was pre-cut into bite sized pieces and sat in the tail with the sauce drizzled over it. It was a lot easier to eat than say if it was just cooked in the shell and you had to dig it out yourself. The combination of flavours on my plate all complimented one another and the textures were just right. This dish is definitely recommended. (I usually tend to go for beef fillet when out at restaurants, I guess I just love a good tender and juicy steak - beef fillet obviously being the best for tenderness and juiciness and Alure doesn't falter in this regard.)

Finally dessert. All I can say is double-wow! Ok I was a little bit of a pig and shared two desserts - but I just couldn't help myself! Firstly we had the hot Valrhona chocolate fondant with iced double cream. This was amazing! Perfectly cooked this fondant opened up like a small volcano erupting chocolate sauce goodness onto my plate. You could tell they used top quality chocolate for this dish as it was just superb. However my absolute favourite dessert was definitely the coconut crème brulee with coconut sorbet and caramelised pineapple. This is the tastiest dessert I’ve had in a long time! The combination in my mouth of the delicate coconut crème brulee set-off perfectly with the slightly tart flavour of the coconut and lime sorbet and it was just to die for! I felt swept away to a tropical island with this dish! I'll definitely be coming back for this one for sure!

I must say that Alure is probably the best restaurant I've been to in Perth so far for service, food quality, freshness and gourmet originality. The funky interior also added to the subtly relaxed ambiance, and the chilled out tunes playing at just the right audible level in the background added that little bit extra to our experience.

I will definitely be back again and especially for my birthday which is coming up very soon!

I went with two girlfriends and we almost walked out as they have stopped their $25 lunch sushi specials. The restaurant was empty and the waiter talked us into staying, saying that we could order any sashimi platters that we wanted and it would be provided. The sashimi and sushi platters WERE TO DIE FOR!!! So fresh and tasty, you couldn't have found any fault.

Service:

We brought up their recent review that had completely obliterated this restaurant, and the waiter went to great pains to reassure us that this wasn't the case at all. We were the only diners, so it wasn't surprising that the service was impeccable.

Ambience:

We sat at the huge table that is in front of a window facing the pool. It was an awesome experience. The sun was shining and the pool looked inviting. We had to ask the waiter to draw the sheer curtain as it was getting hot. The table set up is quite loungey - which was perfect for the occasion.

Overall:
I know this restaurant has taken quite a few hits, and maybe it was warranted. The wine is pricey and I didn't eat anything off the menu - so I can't guarantee that this restaurant is up to scratch. All I can say is that this restaurant, while empty, and if you choose sashimi and sushi then you won't be disappointed. Or maybe it was the company I was keeping that day. A highly enjoyable experience

For starters, we had a dozen oysters each. Whoever shucked the oysters needs to practice more - half the oysters had slivers of broken shell and one or two were a bit 'ripe'. We ordered fish for our mains - Dhufish and Red Emperor. You would expect the chefs to know how to cook fish especially if they've won gold plates for seafood. The dhufish was way overcooked - totally rubberised. The red emperor was no better with its dodgy accompaniments/garnish. Imagine stale garlic croutons, cold mussels, red diced capsicum/tomato in a vinegariatte tossed on top of the cooked fish. I took a sniff of the mussels, tasted a crouton and set it aside - I wasn't going to risk getting a tummy ache from it. After that, we lost our appetite for dessert.

Service:

A 30 minute wait before grabbing the waiter to take our order. Further 30 min nursing drinks while other tables are served free rolls, palate cleanser. Entrees arrive - order error, another 20 min wait. Wait 15 min before plates cleared. 30 min - mains arrive. 15 mins later - leave without dessert.

Ambience:

The bar had a sterile and industrial feel - a poor man's version of the 1907's bar. Dining area was very crammed in and the booth-style seating arrangement with wobbly table tops gave the distinct impression that we were dining in a cafetaria. What ambience is all I can say!

Overall:
We had high expectations and were thinking along the lines of Alex at Wynn's Casino or Ducasse's Mix at Vegas. Or perhaps comparable to Opus at the Richardson or the Globe. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Not being able to order your favorite cocktails even though the bar had the available spirits; throw in the poorly trained waitstaff and to top it off, mediocre food. Needless to say, (A)Lure is not somewhere to bring your loved one for a romantic dinner.

We had the dhufish and for 48 bucks we thought it should be spectacular. Unfortunately it was a bit dry and ordinary. Portion size was pretty small. It was quite well presented though. The potato watercress rosti was puny. Slightly disappointing, and four dollars for a single bread roll! Ouch.

The bread rolls took 30 minutes before arriving (after finally being able to place our order.) The waitress gave the excuse of 'they had to heat them up'. Maybe they heating them up one by one?

Service:

Abyssmal. After 30 minutes, we tried to get attention. The waitress acknowledged this however proceeded to arrange cutlery for empty tables for 10 min! Water not refilled, ever, and drinks ordered never arrived. Only 3 tables were occupied in the whole place!

Ambience:

Decor is quite nice with a nice outlook over the pool. The sun through the windows can be a bit glaring at lunchtime.

Overall:
For the price, the service was the worst I have ever experienced for a restaurant, of any kind, let alone one that has pretensions of being a fine dining restaurant. There were only 3 tables being served, and I counted 3 waitstaff. At times they were AWOL for periods of up to 15 minutes. I suspect they may have not even been in the restaurant! They failed to top up water, correctly bring drinks to the table, offer pepper for the meal, or ask us if everything was OK. Simply Crap.

Food at Alure was good, started with the Pan fried scallops, pork belly, confit onion and orange carrot puree. Very nicely done. Then after what seemed an eternity, our mains arrived, after a knowing grimace at the Manager. My fiance then had for main the Lamb rack, maybe hoping for it to be a bit more tender than what it could have been. I had the duck breast with prosciutto, butternut squash puree, pear thyme and sherry relish. Quite nice indeed. Then after another unbearable wait we got our dessert of Caramelised pineapple rice pudding. This was very nice, too bad for the long waits in between though.

Service:

Service started off nicely then diminished horribly, excuses from the Manager about it being busy with a half-full restaurant do not cut it for a place supposed to be top notch. Fourty minute waits between courses is unacceptable. Seems like reading other reviews the free wine is going out the door.

Ambience:

I should have checked this out beforehand. Note: tables are very big for an intimate dinner for two, got a nice table overlooking the Resorts pool, but this place just lacked romance.

Overall:
Much more other restaurants to try in Perth before considering to go back. Slow food service, unattentive staff,. There is just no "Alure" there.

As an entree we decided to share half a dozen oysters. They were lovely. For mains, my fiance chose the Dhufish which appeared to be overcooked (quite dry) and fairly tasteless. I had the red emperor which was beautifully cooked and had lovely flavours with the accompaniments. We also shared a side of roast kipfler potatoes - simple but tasty. Fiance finished off with an affogato which he said was one of the best he'd had and was presented well.

Service:

Service was ordinary. We were seated at a table right next to the bench with menus, water jugs and the ice bucket (for everyone's wine) and felt there was always someone hovering but we had to ask for our wine and water to be topped up every time. The bill took a long time to come too.

Ambience:

The restaurant is quite nice and tables overlooking the pool area would be ideal. They are well placed so you can't overhear everyone's conversation but there is enough ambience that you don't need to whisper either.

Overall:
Overall, we probably won't be back. Our total bill came to $145. Of that our wine was $55. The dhufish was overpriced at $48. We've had nicer fish at other restaurants that's for sure. When I originally booked, I did so for 7.30pm and was advised that we would have to have the preshow menu. When I asked them to send me that menu they sent the Sirocco one instead. We ended up changing booking to 8pm to get full menu. A bit disappointed in the end.

We had to settle for the pre-show set menu although this was not mentioned at the time of booking. It was one entree which was adequate and a choice of 4 mains. The food was very good but serving size small and side dishes extra.

Service:

Possibly the worst service I have ever encountered at a restaurant of this standing. We spent the night either attracting wait staff or the manager as we worked through a litany of service failures. Our order wasn't taken, our water wasn't topped up, the wine simply didn't appear even after reminder

Ambience:

If you like a cafeteria feel, this restaurant is for you

Overall:
Wouldn't go back. Ambiance is lacking, service was appalling. The Manager did try to rescue a disaster by offering complimentary wine and coffee but it was all too late.

It was my second visit to (a)lure, and neither time could I fault any part of my meal. Both times the food was delicious, and presented beautifully. My favourite part was the dessert - I had the 'Torrone icecream, toffee center, white chocolate crust'. I'd looked at the menu before going and knew that I would be getting it, but it was even more delicious than I imagined!

Service:

Service was generally good - although I felt I had to prompt the waitstaff a fair bit. The wine isn't left at the table and I had to remind them to re-fill our glasses on a couple of occasions. Apart from that, they were friendly and polite.

Ambience:

I really like the atmosphere at (a)lure. It's fairly formal, but not boringly so. I commented to my dining partner that it has a nice balance - the dining area is neutral and formal-ish, while the bar area has more colour and casualness to it.

I had the crab cake for entree which was tasty, while my partner had the scallops and my parents both had oysters. For the mains I had the emperor which I found quite nice. My partner had the beef with prawns but he found the prawns over cooked. My mum had the dhu fish, which she complained was too dry and my dad had the steak, and he was happy with his meal.

Service:

They kind of forgot about us once the mains were served. It seemed to take ages to clear the plates in between meals and I had to wave someone down for the cheque. Drinks were served promptly once we got someones attention.

Ambience:

Nice view of Burswood, and I liked the tables and the general decor of the place

Overall:
For the price we paid, it would have been nice to have waitstaff that were a bit more attentive. I enjoyed the food though, but would not re-visit this place.

We had oysters to start, followed by beef fillet and pork chop, all very tasty. The boyfriend was still a bit peckish so he ordered sashimi, I ordered chocolate fondant for dessert as it would take half an hour to cook. I assumed that they would bring out the sashimi first, guess I'm the only person who thinks eating sashimi and dessert at the same time is weird, as they were bought out at the same time. Had to ask for water twice, which didn't come out until they were clearing away our entrees. Also quite disappointed I didn't get the complimentary bread/ soup - I use to love that! Not sure if they've stopped for good or because there was a function on at Burswood (Phantom of the Opera which we didn't realize was on!)

Service:

Not advised that only a 'short' menu was available (not when we first made the booking nor when we called to confirm). Hostess told us we could wait for the full menu (in 45 mins). 1 hour goes by, obviously she forgot about us, so we went to her instead. Our waiter was ok though.

Ambience:

Nice, casual. Tables are a bit close together so stay away if you don't want to hear other people's conversations and want an intimate dinner (too bad we went for V Day!).

Overall:
A bit disappointing, seeing as I have been to Allure previously and everything was impeccable. I've always considered Allure to have the best service in Perth- sadly, not the case anymore.

Wow! Entree of Sushi rolls (Alure sushi) beautifully presented. The mains were salmon with mussels and duck. Absolutely divine. The taste was amazing and the side of seasonal veg was perfectly cooked. Dessert, chocolate chilli icecream was amazing. The fondant pudding was worth the wait and was delicious

Service:

Impeccable, glasses refilled promptly, knowledgeable staff. Restaurant packed but it ran so smoothly.

Gorgeous views if the pool. Lovely decor, nice vibe.

Loved it and will definitely return. Not cheap, we paid $160 ish but was worth every cent. Well done Burswood, a restaurant that is truely a great representation of WA for our international tourists

We had a set menu for a private function on Tuesday night. The entree to share was fantastic - oysters (Kilpatrick and Au natural) sushi, California rolls, pate with Turkish bread and deep fried prawn skewers. I choose the chicken with spinach and potatoes which was wonderful, juicy. For dessert you had a choice of chocolate trio with vanilla ice-cream or a cheese platter - I had the chocolate of course!!

Service:

Great - attentive without being fussy.

I loved the funky lounges and the bar set-up was so cool. I remarked on the night that the view out to the pool/swaying palm trees was wonderful and serene.

The food was amazing, my friend and I shared the scallops and sushi to start with. Then I had the baby chicken for my main which was delicious. We could not fault the food at all. The wine we ordered was forgotten and the waitress took about 30 minutes to finally come and tell us that they didn't have the one we wanted and then eventually the wine came out halfway through our mains, and then I had to get up and get the bottle of wine from the bucket as the waitress never came back to top up our glasses.

Service:

Luckily the food was above standard because the service was well below a 5 star rating. The waitress took quite awhile to come and take our drink order, eventually we finally got our drinks and then it was spilt all over the table and myself. The food came out with no delay which was great.

Ambience:

Good but not great. The pork belly was tasty but too oily. The baramundi was tasty but too much of a mash when you try to cut it up. The entree salad serving was way to big for one person as entree, you're better off sharing, though it was still tasty (just too filling as an entree). Can't recall anything special about the dessert. However everything is beautifully presented.

Service:

Friendly, attentative.

Ambience:

Modern, formal, classy, comfortable.

Overall:
The food is good but not great. If you're a price minded person, comparing the price to the food it's probably not worth it. The same or similar dishes can be found elsewhere of either better taste or a better price. The ambience is modern and very nice and the service is very good as well. I'd say the main issue with this restaurant is that the food is expensive for its level.

What a wonderful experience. The food is just truly delicious and tantalizing. Food has never tasted so good. Me and my partner had shared some Californian sushi and each bite just oozed with flavour. For our mains we ordered the Mt Barker Chicken and Red Emperor. Both meals were wonderfully presented and just was so delicious. Will definitely be going back and would recommend everyone to try it! You wont be disappointed!

I was very excited to be going to dinner at this gold plate winning restaurant. We sat by the window overlooking the beautiful pool so we couldn’t have asked for better seats. We were given complimentary bread rolls with butter and olives while we waited for our meals and were also given a tomato palate cleanser to get ready.

I had a good look around out of interest and wasn’t pleased to find one of my knives dirty and some of the wine glasses unpolished and the table could have used a bit more of a clean but I proceeded to order.

I thoroughly enjoyed a crayfish ravioli on crushed peas with crustacean oil for entree, it was a largish serve too and the taste was fantastic I could not find fault and nor could anyone at the table. Our mains all arrived perfectly with my (mr) lamb coming out (mr) so I was very happy, everyone again enjoyed the food. It was presented perfectly.

The service lacked a bit, one of the waitress's always served us with a smile but i cannot say that about the other two. Our wine glasses were not cleared and we had to ask a couple of times for drinks, we expected exceptional service as it is a fine dining restaurant and a pricey one at that. The menus were also a bit tatty with food spills on them so that is something they should look at also.

The desserts were delicious, but half the table had to wait before they received theirs, and then they had already started to melt. But the food for the whole night was faultless; all that needed attention was the service and finer details.

My partner and I ate at Alure last night to celebrate our anniversary. The restuarant is beautifully decorated and I was very impressed by the ambience.

The food menu was divine and my potato rosti with caramelised onions and goats cheese was excellent. My partner was pretty satisfied with his steak and rock lobster. To my delight, the coconut crème brulee was one of the best desserts we had both eaten in a long time. Even more importantly, the drinks menu was robustly extensive.

However, it was quite busy being a Friday evening. It took us about ten minutes in the line to be shown to our table, despite having a reservation. Once we were seated simple things like receiving water and menus took a very long time. The waitstaff were obviously trying their best but they seemed to lack the confidence and pizazz that staff at Halo or Balthazaar are reknown for. My partner ordered a dozen oysters for entree and was presented only half of them, being informed by the waitstaff that he would have to wait too long a time to receive the full order.

It has the making of a beautiful restaurant; good design, fabulous menu and the kitchen do outstanding food. I was a little disappointed that the service did not match these solid foundations though. Overall I still had a wonderful time and will go back again in the future.

We took overseas visitors on the final night of their stay and we were all blown away by how good the evening was. The service was first class from the moment we got there and carried on that way.

The food was exceptional, I personally had the seared tuna followed by the beef steak and crayfish. All six of us had different courses but everybody thoroughly enjoyed what they had chosen.

There is also a very extensive wine list and unlike some of the higher restaurants there was a selection for all budgets.

Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ambience: Very modern and can be quiet cold depending on where they sat you. First time when we went there, we didn’t make any booking and ended up having a real bad seat. The second time, they put us close to the window overlooking the swimming pool - magic!!!!

Food: We ordered the Barramundi and also Grilled Chicken. The soup, olives and bread appetizer was a very nice touch.

Service was very good and professional. The second time we went there, we ordered the Barramundi again and also Fillet Steak. They were both magnificent!

The food quality at (A)lure is comparable to those at Oyster Bar Mosman Bay or Zafferano. Very pleasant experience indeed. We will definitely be back!!!

My family and I went to (A)lure yesterday for dinner and all I can say is this is one of the best restaurants that I've ever visited in Perth.

Let me start with the food. For starters, we ordered California Roll sushi and (A)lure Roll sushi. They were fresh and, surprisingly, tasted really good. We also had the infamous Wagyu Beef Tataki, and WOW! No wonder people are talking about this dish all the time. The beef were extremely tender and didn't taste rare at all. We felt like we were dining in a real Japanese restaurant, in Japan!

For mains, we ordered Caesar Salad of Grilled Prawn and Chicken, Spiced Amelia Park lamb, Atlantic Salmon, and the Wagyu Sirloin Grade 9 served (A)LURE style. The Wagyu Sirloin was really expensive for a sirloin steak, but the price was justified as soon as we tasted it. Excellent! Best sirloin steak that I have ever tasted in my life. Extremely tender (if cooked medium rare as the chef suggested) and tasted really good as well. It also came with marron tail which was a great addition to the steak. The other dishes were fantastic and the prices were ok too, especially for the quality of food they provide. Don’t forget to order the desserts too. We had the Torrone ice cream, toffee centre, white chocolate crust and Mango, pineapple and logan berry fruit salad, yoghurt ice cream. Great desserts and just right. Not too much and beautifully presented too.

Wonderful ambience. Funky, romantic, and stylish. Great for anniversary dinners and office functions. Service is top class too. All of the waitresses were friendly and helpful.

Overall, great dining experience and I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a great night out.

I went to (A)lure last night for my birthday dinner & was soooo disappointed. Maybe I was expecting something different to what it was though. All week I had been telling people that I was going there & everyone was saying that it is supposed to be amazing so maybe my expectations were too high...

Anyway got there early so had a drink at the bar, the Assistant Manager was super friendly & made us drinks but we were the only ones there & there was no atmosphere at all. Sat down at 7 & there was probably only about 2 other tables of people there. We had the sushi platter for entree which was really good & really fresh & we actually both commented that the wasabi tasted better than we are used to.

After the entree it suddenly got really noisy as a group of easily 100 people turned up - I am pretty sure it was Richmond football club & assorted hangers on. This really annoyed us - we were after a quiet (maybe even a bit romantic) dinner & it would have been nice to be advised when the booking was made that we would be seated directly across from such a big group. Also, when they turned up they were standing up chatting right by our table for ages & there was kids running around our table which wasn't really appreciated.

Mains came out really quickly - probably a bit too fast, we still had a quarter of a bottle of wine left after we had finished the mains. The food was really nice though, I had rack of lamb & my boyfriend had the chicken - it was really good but nothing super special. For dessert my boyfriend had the chocolate fondant which he liked but thought was a bit too rich & I had the coconut creme brulee which was amazing - it was definitely my favourite part of the meal.

When we got the bill they overcharged us $30 for 2 beers & a cocktail which we didn't have when we questioned it they fixed it up by taking off the 2 beers. So, we had to send it back again for them to take the cocktail off as well - I thought this was pretty bad since my boyfriend actually circled the 3 drinks that were wrong & they still managed to stuff it up again.

Another stupid little thing that annoyed me was that there were no toilets in the restaurant so you had to go outside & then there was no hand towels or hand dryers! Also, we thought for the prices they charge that our glasses wouldn't be left empty (which they were) & that there wouldn't be people dressed in tracksuits (which there were too)!

All in all, the food was good & the staff were friendly but I wouldn't go back.
