Overall:
The wagyu sashimi I shared for entree was one of the most delicious things I think I have ever tasted! It sat atop a bed of thinly sliced onion, and, when combined, (and especially when dipped in the soy dipping sauce with a dab of extra hot wasabi), was like heaven in my mouth! The beef was so tender and fresh it almost melted. At first I was quite afraid of eating raw beef, however it didn't taste raw one bit - and the texture was that of a rare steak - not gelatinous as one would expect, it was so full of flavour and perfect texture.

For main I had the grilled beef fillet (rare) with marron tail and white truffle hollandaise. The fillet was cooked to perfection, and it was a really good thick slice as far as beef fillets go. It was so tender it literally (again) melted in my mouth. The marron tail with white truffle hollandaise on the side was also terrific. The juicy marron meat was pre-cut into bite sized pieces and sat in the tail with the sauce drizzled over it. It was a lot easier to eat than say if it was just cooked in the shell and you had to dig it out yourself. The combination of flavours on my plate all complimented one another and the textures were just right. This dish is definitely recommended. (I usually tend to go for beef fillet when out at restaurants, I guess I just love a good tender and juicy steak - beef fillet obviously being the best for tenderness and juiciness and Alure doesn't falter in this regard.)

Finally dessert. All I can say is double-wow! Ok I was a little bit of a pig and shared two desserts - but I just couldn't help myself! Firstly we had the hot Valrhona chocolate fondant with iced double cream. This was amazing! Perfectly cooked this fondant opened up like a small volcano erupting chocolate sauce goodness onto my plate. You could tell they used top quality chocolate for this dish as it was just superb. However my absolute favourite dessert was definitely the coconut crème brulee with coconut sorbet and caramelised pineapple. This is the tastiest dessert I’ve had in a long time! The combination in my mouth of the delicate coconut crème brulee set-off perfectly with the slightly tart flavour of the coconut and lime sorbet and it was just to die for! I felt swept away to a tropical island with this dish! I'll definitely be coming back for this one for sure!

I must say that Alure is probably the best restaurant I've been to in Perth so far for service, food quality, freshness and gourmet originality. The funky interior also added to the subtly relaxed ambiance, and the chilled out tunes playing at just the right audible level in the background added that little bit extra to our experience.

I will definitely be back again and especially for my birthday which is coming up very soon!

Food:

Good but not great. The pork belly was tasty but too oily. The baramundi was tasty but too much of a mash when you try to cut it up. The entree salad serving was way to big for one person as entree, you're better off sharing, though it was still tasty (just too filling as an entree). Can't recall anything special about the dessert. However everything is beautifully presented.

Service:

Friendly, attentative.

Ambience:

Modern, formal, classy, comfortable.

Overall:
The food is good but not great. If you're a price minded person, comparing the price to the food it's probably not worth it. The same or similar dishes can be found elsewhere of either better taste or a better price. The ambience is modern and very nice and the service is very good as well. I'd say the main issue with this restaurant is that the food is expensive for its level.

What a wonderful experience. The food is just truly delicious and tantalizing. Food has never tasted so good. Me and my partner had shared some Californian sushi and each bite just oozed with flavour. For our mains we ordered the Mt Barker Chicken and Red Emperor. Both meals were wonderfully presented and just was so delicious. Will definitely be going back and would recommend everyone to try it! You wont be disappointed!

Overall:
I was very excited to be going to dinner at this gold plate winning restaurant. We sat by the window overlooking the beautiful pool so we couldn’t have asked for better seats. We were given complimentary bread rolls with butter and olives while we waited for our meals and were also given a tomato palate cleanser to get ready.

I had a good look around out of interest and wasn’t pleased to find one of my knives dirty and some of the wine glasses unpolished and the table could have used a bit more of a clean but I proceeded to order.

I thoroughly enjoyed a crayfish ravioli on crushed peas with crustacean oil for entree, it was a largish serve too and the taste was fantastic I could not find fault and nor could anyone at the table. Our mains all arrived perfectly with my (mr) lamb coming out (mr) so I was very happy, everyone again enjoyed the food. It was presented perfectly.

The service lacked a bit, one of the waitress's always served us with a smile but i cannot say that about the other two. Our wine glasses were not cleared and we had to ask a couple of times for drinks, we expected exceptional service as it is a fine dining restaurant and a pricey one at that. The menus were also a bit tatty with food spills on them so that is something they should look at also.

The desserts were delicious, but half the table had to wait before they received theirs, and then they had already started to melt. But the food for the whole night was faultless; all that needed attention was the service and finer details.

Overall:
My partner and I ate at Alure last night to celebrate our anniversary. The restuarant is beautifully decorated and I was very impressed by the ambience.

The food menu was divine and my potato rosti with caramelised onions and goats cheese was excellent. My partner was pretty satisfied with his steak and rock lobster. To my delight, the coconut crème brulee was one of the best desserts we had both eaten in a long time. Even more importantly, the drinks menu was robustly extensive.

However, it was quite busy being a Friday evening. It took us about ten minutes in the line to be shown to our table, despite having a reservation. Once we were seated simple things like receiving water and menus took a very long time. The waitstaff were obviously trying their best but they seemed to lack the confidence and pizazz that staff at Halo or Balthazaar are reknown for. My partner ordered a dozen oysters for entree and was presented only half of them, being informed by the waitstaff that he would have to wait too long a time to receive the full order.

It has the making of a beautiful restaurant; good design, fabulous menu and the kitchen do outstanding food. I was a little disappointed that the service did not match these solid foundations though. Overall I still had a wonderful time and will go back again in the future.

We took overseas visitors on the final night of their stay and we were all blown away by how good the evening was. The service was first class from the moment we got there and carried on that way.

The food was exceptional, I personally had the seared tuna followed by the beef steak and crayfish. All six of us had different courses but everybody thoroughly enjoyed what they had chosen.

There is also a very extensive wine list and unlike some of the higher restaurants there was a selection for all budgets.

Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Ambience: Very modern and can be quiet cold depending on where they sat you. First time when we went there, we didn’t make any booking and ended up having a real bad seat. The second time, they put us close to the window overlooking the swimming pool - magic!!!!

Food: We ordered the Barramundi and also Grilled Chicken. The soup, olives and bread appetizer was a very nice touch.

Service was very good and professional. The second time we went there, we ordered the Barramundi again and also Fillet Steak. They were both magnificent!

The food quality at (A)lure is comparable to those at Oyster Bar Mosman Bay or Zafferano. Very pleasant experience indeed. We will definitely be back!!!

My family and I went to (A)lure yesterday for dinner and all I can say is this is one of the best restaurants that I've ever visited in Perth.

Let me start with the food. For starters, we ordered California Roll sushi and (A)lure Roll sushi. They were fresh and, surprisingly, tasted really good. We also had the infamous Wagyu Beef Tataki, and WOW! No wonder people are talking about this dish all the time. The beef were extremely tender and didn't taste rare at all. We felt like we were dining in a real Japanese restaurant, in Japan!

For mains, we ordered Caesar Salad of Grilled Prawn and Chicken, Spiced Amelia Park lamb, Atlantic Salmon, and the Wagyu Sirloin Grade 9 served (A)LURE style. The Wagyu Sirloin was really expensive for a sirloin steak, but the price was justified as soon as we tasted it. Excellent! Best sirloin steak that I have ever tasted in my life. Extremely tender (if cooked medium rare as the chef suggested) and tasted really good as well. It also came with marron tail which was a great addition to the steak. The other dishes were fantastic and the prices were ok too, especially for the quality of food they provide. Don’t forget to order the desserts too. We had the Torrone ice cream, toffee centre, white chocolate crust and Mango, pineapple and logan berry fruit salad, yoghurt ice cream. Great desserts and just right. Not too much and beautifully presented too.

Wonderful ambience. Funky, romantic, and stylish. Great for anniversary dinners and office functions. Service is top class too. All of the waitresses were friendly and helpful.

Overall, great dining experience and I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a great night out.

Overall:
I went to (A)lure last night for my birthday dinner & was soooo disappointed. Maybe I was expecting something different to what it was though. All week I had been telling people that I was going there & everyone was saying that it is supposed to be amazing so maybe my expectations were too high...

Anyway got there early so had a drink at the bar, the Assistant Manager was super friendly & made us drinks but we were the only ones there & there was no atmosphere at all. Sat down at 7 & there was probably only about 2 other tables of people there. We had the sushi platter for entree which was really good & really fresh & we actually both commented that the wasabi tasted better than we are used to.

After the entree it suddenly got really noisy as a group of easily 100 people turned up - I am pretty sure it was Richmond football club & assorted hangers on. This really annoyed us - we were after a quiet (maybe even a bit romantic) dinner & it would have been nice to be advised when the booking was made that we would be seated directly across from such a big group. Also, when they turned up they were standing up chatting right by our table for ages & there was kids running around our table which wasn't really appreciated.

Mains came out really quickly - probably a bit too fast, we still had a quarter of a bottle of wine left after we had finished the mains. The food was really nice though, I had rack of lamb & my boyfriend had the chicken - it was really good but nothing super special. For dessert my boyfriend had the chocolate fondant which he liked but thought was a bit too rich & I had the coconut creme brulee which was amazing - it was definitely my favourite part of the meal.

When we got the bill they overcharged us $30 for 2 beers & a cocktail which we didn't have when we questioned it they fixed it up by taking off the 2 beers. So, we had to send it back again for them to take the cocktail off as well - I thought this was pretty bad since my boyfriend actually circled the 3 drinks that were wrong & they still managed to stuff it up again.

Another stupid little thing that annoyed me was that there were no toilets in the restaurant so you had to go outside & then there was no hand towels or hand dryers! Also, we thought for the prices they charge that our glasses wouldn't be left empty (which they were) & that there wouldn't be people dressed in tracksuits (which there were too)!

All in all, the food was good & the staff were friendly but I wouldn't go back.
