The squid in naepolitan sauce starter is exquisite. Lamb shanks were yummy too. I was last there with 18 other ladies and we had a set menu for $40 - starter of olives, chorizo sausages, feta cheese & turkish bread + fish/chicken/steak + chocolate vanilla dessert. They were generously topping up the turkish bread. Chicken was yummy but just a tad too thick.

Service:

Wait staff always seem a little busy but nevertheless, they are always courteous and friendly, and we always get good service.

Ambience:

Lovely outlook to Jackadder Lake. Floors and walls can do with a little makeover.

Overall:
It would be great if they can keep it a family dining restaurant and not a fine dining restaurant - with prices to match.

Great selection of dishes - we couldn't decide what to have! We BYO'd, but I noticed that the wines on their list were very reasonably priced. We ordered garlic bread to start and it was everything that garlic bread should be. We fought over the last piece!

My husband ordered the scotch fillet with garlic prawns & I ordered the Roast Vege linguine. Our food came out within 15 mins - extremely well presented. My husbands steak was served on a bed of mashed potato & the garlic prawns were huge. His steak was cooked to perfection - true medium rare. My linguine was delectable. I had asked for fresh chilli in it &the chef sent over a little bowl of fresh chopped chilli so I could add more if I wanted. I thought that was very thoughtful!

Service:

We were greeted by a very friendly waitsperson, seated straight away & provided with chilled water & menus. We were impressed when the waitress rattled off 7 specials from memory - all with detailed descriptions. Our plates were cleared straight away and we were offered tea, coffee or desert.

The concrete floor looks fantastic & would be practical, however it doesn't provide fantastic acoustics - so even though this is a little cafe it can get noisy when busy. Maybe some more soft furnishings guys!? Other than that the lighting and decor is spot on to provide you with a lovely experience

Overall:
I have been to this cafe several times and would return more than several more. The food is always reliably great and the service great without be intrusive. During the day the view is sensational and the evening it is nice and cosy. This is definitely one of my favourite cafes!

My partner suggested this restaurant last wednesday night. but based on previous visits I wasnt too keen. Then i saw that its back in the entertainment book again (but now in the gold section) so I agreed.

Im glad I did! The restaurant has yet again changed hands (as of last week). Service was good and the food was good. The floor could do with something though as tis just concrete as far as i can tell! The place lacks warmth.

We shared the tasting plate for entree- this was very good and included smoked salmon, chorizo, 2 small roast duck shanks, olives and calamari. The only downside was the antipasto mix and the tempura prawns. Not to our liking.

For mains i had the barramundi which came on buttery mash with a side salad of orange slices, parmesan and rocket i think? It had a balsamic dressing. It was unusual but very nice and refreshing.

My partner had the sirloin steak and enjoyed it.

Corkage was around the $5 mark.

We arranged a birthday celebration at Bada Bing on a Saturday night. Having been to the restaurant for lunch before, we were disappointed at how sterile it looked in the evening with excess chairs and heaters standing in the corner.

The food was really good (my prawn and bugtail fettuccine was sensational) and portions were generous but the staff were definitely stretched on this busy evening and had to be called back twice to finish clearing dishes. It is nice to be able to bring one's own wine and corkage at $5 is reasonable.

A good venue for a casual dining experience but don't look up at the cobwebs!

As part of a group of 4 we chose to have breakfast this last Sunday morning.

This restaurant is nicely situated opposite Lake Jackadder, which gives it a nice outlook.

The choice for breakfast was nice and varied and suited everyone in the party. Three chose the muesli with strawberries, honey and yogurt and the other member of the group chose the Eggs Benedict.

The food was great but the only thing that was lacking was the service. There were only 2 waitresses which may have been a factor but I cant really say that the restaurant was that busy.

We had to keep signaling for any attention and our used plates took a while to be cleared.

The hard surfaces of the restaurant can make it quite echoy which would be a factor to consider if having dinner there on a busy weekend night as I could imagine that you would have difficulty hearing each other.

I would go back for brekkie and be prepared to hassle the waiting staff for attention.

We have dined here a few times as it’s very close to home and in the entertainment book. I really don’t know why I keep trying though!

It’s average. Like the other reviewer I had to ask and then wait for water (after we had ordered wine and beer). Although I must say the service after this improved greatly. We had the spring rolls for entrée which were quite tasty but extremely oily. For mains I ordered the chicken salad; chicken, cherry tomatoes, lots of lettuce, cashews and the smallest slivers of bacon I’ve ever seen (which gathered at the bottom of the bowl). I regretted my choice here. My partner chose the twice cooked pork belly which he enjoyed. Strictly for locals only I think.

Our party of 4 dined here for lunch on a very busy Saturday. The service was very poor. It took 20 minutes before we were asked if we'd like a drink and then another 15 or so for it to arrive. This level of service continued throughout our visit.

The food, although looking very attractive, was by everyone's account quite bland. They also lacked the small but important details, like no piece of lemon on the plate with my fish and no salt/pepper on the table.

Being alfresco, it had the potential to be a very picturesque location, if only those darned cars in the car park between the restaurant and the lake hadn't been there! It was overall an okay experience, but I won't be rushing back.
