To die for. Best Restaurant in the hills, the new family management have done very well for themselves. The Chef has got the best home cooking style Ive ever eaten. Meat is very tender, some good stuff there, veggie dishes are very fresh. Entree's are very North Indian tradition and taste fantastic. Main meals sizes are great and plenty of rice to share for two. Beef madras gets the taste buds burning and so does the chicken Vindaloo. Naan's are very fresh and so soft that it just melts in your mouth. This is the best place i have eaten any Indian food in Perth. Definitely worth a drive from anywhere in Perth. and 17.50 for a meal is worth it in this restaurant.

Service:

Staff are very polite and very attentive. I went on a busy Saturday night and there were enough waitresses for each table and they did not seem to be rushed off their feet as they took the time to make sure their tables were well looked after.

Ambience:

Excellent environment to be seated in. Very cosy and fantastic Bollywood hip music. The lit table candles make a very cosy effect and this restaurant does get packed on weekends so make sure u book in advance to avoid disappointment!!

Overall:
Excellent restaurant! I would not go else where for a curry. Just a note to the lady who asked for serving spoons, when u order individual meals, its one spoon per dish, if u are sharing then u should ask, but don't comment on other peoples tables. Def the best place to go, very friendly and staff are always smiling and trying their best to make you comfortable.. love it, keep up the good work bangles. :)

Overall:
Went for dinner on Friday night. We used to dine here regularly about 2 years ago, before new management took over and it was great. Then new management took over, not so good and recently management has changed again.

It all started out great, we had dhal for starters and it is the best dhal I've had, will definitely get that again. So we were expecting the mains to be up to standard or at least better than the last owners produced. We ordered beef madras which was really quite nice. It seemed they were using better bits of meat than the last people and we were impressed by that. We also got methi chicken which the sauce was nice but the chicken bits I think were thigh and we didn't finish that one off. I think we were spoilt with the very first owner because she used great cuts of meat and chicken and it was a lot cheaper than it is today. We also got stuffed potato and cauliflower paratha which was okay.

The inside of the restaurant is cosy and has a good atmosphere. Staff were okay, maybe a little abrupt. Lucky we booked as people were being turned away. This place always seems to be packed out on Friday and Saturday nights. The whole thing came to about $37 after 20% off so that was good, I'd pay that price again but unfortunately without the voucher I don't think it warrants $17.50 for a main.

Overall, well it's better than the previous owners but not better than the first owner. Like I say, we may be spoilt with having had better and like I've said before, I don't see why they can't use chicken breast. I won't rush back there, maybe in a year's time.

Overall:
A rather unusual little restaurant in Kalamunda recently taken over by a lovely Indian lady who has restored some authenticity to the menu. She could do a little more in that respect as the previous owners were Poms with a very bland taste in curry. She appears loathe to change the menu much but I live in hope. The curries are mild but tasty enough, the side dishes are uninspired and lack fresh herbs or spices but overall, if you live in the Hills, give it a go. It’s cheap to try so you haven't got much to lose. Not worth travelling to from anywhere West of Guildford though. I've given it three and a half stars but only compared to other Hills establishments.

We have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. It opened as David’s Kitchen with a typical western menu, which continued through several owners.

Then became Indian but still retained the western menu, which was good as some of our group do not like curries, then changed hands when Jean & Tony took over, they also kept the western menu, with them you could mix and match, one of my favourites being Shanti beef role with chips and curry sauce. New owners dropped the western menu but did a great job with the decor, changed hands yet again, and we have tried a few times but it never quite came up to par.

Latest visit this week saw us very disappointed the Bangles chicken was very small, you would not have made a sandwich with the chicken and the sauce was watery and not much taste, the egg paratha was dry and "tough", the spinach dish was O.K. just. All the dishes were small. The rice would not have been a cupfull. So we will not be going back until things improve. No serving spoons were provided we had to ask I did notice that others were serving with the spoons they were eating with, NOT ON.

The ambience is good, the service reasonable, and it is BYO, but you need much more than this.

AWESOME!!!!!

If you fancy an authentic Indian curry with all the trimmings, you will be hard pressed to find anywhere better.

We have visited this restaurant 3 times now. The first was with different owners to the present one's however the food was excellent, and very reasonably priced. The only downside was that the menu was very limited.

Now though the food has gotten even better and the menu has more choice. The waiting staff are polite and the service quick. Bangles has a nice intimate feel about it and on a saturday diners are treated to a display of belly dancing, the brave can even join in.

My personal recommendations are:
Onion bhajis
Beef Madras and Chicken shalis.
The naans are lovely but the stuffed paratha are to die for.

Venture up the hill and treat yourself, you will not regret it!!!!
