Welcome to Barre

Not good. Ordered chicken pie and gnocchi and the first worrying thing was that they came out just a few minutes after we ordered them. My gnocci was very oily with far too much garlic in the sauce. The chicken pie was ok but nothing special.

It was ok but nothing to rave about.

Amazing! To be able to go out with a large group of work colleagues, pay separately, be served quickly & efficiently in such a central location complete with funky décor & friendly staff - unheard of!!! Until now!
A group of 20 of us arrived at 12.30pm - I was a little worried how they were going to cope but cope they did. No hassles paying separately (nothing worse than splitting the bill at the table... with the whole I had he had I didn't have etc.) Once we sat down it could not have been more than 7 minutes before each order came out fast & efficient. And the food - wow!!! There is usually one person who complains that they don’t like this or that but this time no! Everyone found something that they really wanted, even one of our group who is a celiac! All she did was mentioned this to the staff and they pointed out the options she could have.

Everyone had great words to say about the food, I had the 100% Beef Burger; the Green Chilli Jam was a fantastic touch! And the way the chips come out in that funky cradle, loved it!!

I have had dinner at Barre when I was going to show and the atmosphere is completely different, more formal. I think it is great that a restaurant is able to cater to the needs of their customers, fast and efficient during the busy office lunch period and then more formal dining for the dinner period.

We dined for lunch. Both of us decided on the steak sandwich. It came served on a slice of bread with the steak on top. We found this unusual as a sandwich is usually 2 pieces of bread. The onions really complemented the steak and whilst the overall taste of the dish was good, we both found the steak to be small for the price.
