We accidentally ended up here when my mum came to visit from the UK about 4 weeks ago. Despite it being a busy Saturday evening they found us a great table. We enjoyed really delicious food here. My mum had fish which she raved about and both mine and my fiances meals were great too. The caesar salad I had on the side was excellent.
This place is right on the Mends Street Jetty and so you have lovely views around you and a really charming setting for an evening meal. The service was excellent. This is a perfect place to take visitors to Perth.

As a frequent visitor, I can confidently say that this place is just fabulous!
Beautiful views, great service and exceptional food - what more could you want? The prices are no more expensive than anywhere else in the city, and the portions are excellent.
My particular favourites are the creamy garlic prawns with jasmine rice, the fillet steak or if you're in the mood for a salad, both the Caesar and warm field mushroom (with asparagus and feta - yum!) are divine. Oh, and they do the best garlic bread in Perth - it has to be tried to be believed.
If you head here for breakfast though, the french toast comes highly recommended. Cooked to perfection and served with maple syrup, cream, fresh strawberries AND banana, it's truly delicious.

- Myself and 2 friends went to the Bellhouse this morning for Sunday breakfast, we tend to go quite often, the food is generally very good and it's in a great location. We had an omelette each and paid a little over $90 for the 3 of us, however when we were served our breakfast (each of us had an omelette with 2 slices of sourdough), there was no margarine on the bread or table so my friend asked for some, the waiter returned and told us that there was no butter or margarine of any sort - they had run out, instead of explaining there may be a wait he offered us vegemite and jams! Usually this place is great, but how can a very expensive cafe offering a Sunday breakfast not have margarine or butter? The omelette was good, but buttered or margarined toast should be considered an absolute minimum for a breakfast, at the very least the waiter should have made the lack of spreads clear when we ordered, offered a discount or a free coffee or anything at all, rather than acting as though jam was a fine alternative and looking annoyed when we complained.

My very sweet partner scoped this place out as a birthday dinner surprise for me, and he chose exceptionally well. This place would have to be one of the nicest restaurants I have visited in a long time.
Set right on the South Perth foreshore, at the Mend St Jetty just in front of Coco’, the serene panorama of the city lights and the Swan River is very relaxing. The restaurant is small and intimate, featuring a lot of warm timber and was the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two.
The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. My partner had the calamari and I ordered garlic prawns which were served on a bed of rice and they were fresh and absolutely divine.
My one and only complaint (and it’s a kind of good one!) was that we were seated right near the dessert display and it’s really hard not to be tempted when you have such an array of mouthwatering sweets right in front of you! We must have changed our minds several times over dinner about what to have but we both couldn’t go past the decadent looking chocolate mud cake in the end. It was moist and yummy, served with whipped cream, and as much as it seemed a sin to leave any, the slices were so huge and rich that I just couldn’t fit more than half in, one piece to share would have been more than plenty, even with my partners insatiable appetite.
The service could not be faulted, they were friendly and efficient.
I can’t wait to go back again.

- After a full day on the lawn bowling green we were too tired to cook. Decided to wander to South Perth and see what the restaurants had on offer. We read a few menus along Mends St and finally ended up on the jetty. Stumbled into the Bellhouse with no reservation and were instantly made welcome. The table we were seated at had not been set however immediately we were seated we were handed menus and asked if we would care for a drink. Drinks ordered we settled in to read the menu. Our waiter quickly set the table to perfection, poured iced water with the jug remaining on the table for us to help ourselves. A lovely young man, obviously new to the industry asked if we been told the specials. When told we hadn't he immediately advised what they were (stumbling a little on the pronunciation of some dishes) but he was so charming and keen to please that this was a small matter indeed. We later found out he was very new to the restaurant. I sincerely hope he stays. We ordered fillet steaks with a side garden salad. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the crushed potatoes and red wine jus were to die for. The salad was crisp with a slight dressing - just delicious. Our wine, served by the glass, complemented the meal perfectly. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and look forward to our next visit. We think this restaurant is very reasonably priced for its beautiful location.
