Overall:
When we arrived we were amazed by the location and by the décor of the restaurant. Customers can certainly enjoy a magnificent view of Perth city.
But when we gave a look to the menu our positive feelings were already fading away; the menu had changed from the one we checked on the net and unfortunately this one had only a minimal number of dishes, which we did not sound particularly appealing to us.
Although, since it would have been too rude to stand up and leave, we decided to stay and hope for the best.
As entrée I had some beef filet with spinach in filo pastry; these rolls were absolutely great the beef was cooked to perfection, it was tasty and soft and the accompaniment sauce matched perfectly. My boyfriend had some scallops and he was a bit upset with his dish since they were simply grilled scallops with some lemon juice and julienne vegetables. As mains I opted for the fish of the day that happened to be a coral reef snapper with mash potatoes fried Cajun calamari and a citrus sauce; this dish was pretty good, but nothing I could have not made at home. Again it was just some grilled fish on a bed of mash, certainly delicious but not worth it $42. My boyfriend had the beef fillet with a spiced mash; the dish was very tasty and the meat was cooked has requested, certainly a better choice than mine.
We were quite full after the mains since they don’t skip on portions. Though we couldn’t get over the home made sticky date pudding, which was as always delicious.
The service was very good not intrusive, but attentive.
The all meal without drinks came out to be $170. Overall we will not go back, since it’s definitely overpriced for what they offer. You pay for the location rather than the food. But personally I perfect to enjoy an outstanding dish without a view rather than an average one with a beautiful view.
