Went to Caddy's on Sat early evening. Wife and myself shared the T-Bone. Friends had the seafood pizza and the fish and chips. T-bone was half gristle and veins, the kitchen staff obviously don't understand what is medium as the T-Bone was red when we cut through it. Could not taste any marination/favouring/seasoning on the steak. Fish and chips looks good, tasted horrible. Again it was very bland and to my amazement, the tartare sauce lacked the zing that most sauces have. Also for some reason, it seems to be dripping oil excessively.
I thought the pizza was acceptable.
Free salad bar with mains. Basic salad, nothing much to shout about.
Being that you had to line up to order, cannot really comment much on the service. I would say that they were pretty quick in serving our meals once ordered. But that could be because there were two other tables only.
It's your generic tavern setting. The TVs broadcasting cricket and trotting was a good touch. Keep people entertained and probably may help avoid those uncomfortable silence moments when it happens.
Overall:
Very disappointed considering the hype given to it. Would not visit the place again for meals. Drinks maybe. We were glad that we shared the T-Bone, I would feel absolutely cheated if I had to pay for two mains for that kind of quality of food.
