Overall:
It is a shame for everyone who doesn't work in Freo that this place only opens for lunch - but it's open on Saturday and if you like asian food I urge you to take a trip to the Harbour Town and try it.
I dare say this place serves one of the best laksas in town (Chicken or Seafood). The ingredients are fresh (what you get with your seafood laksa changes according to svailability...) and the broth, a bit on the sweeter side, is just divine.
All the dieshes at 55 are worth trying: Bun Bo Xao, a fresh and excitingly flavoured Beef and Rice Noodle Salad, Saigon Chicken - succulent crispy roasted chicken with sweet chillie and rice and a grilled pork/shredded Vietnamese pork dish making the best of a pork chop. All the dishes are under $10 which is excellent considering the quality and care they prepare the food. I go a couple of times every week and have NEVER been disappointed (as a matter of fact I developed a bit of an addiction...)
The owners Tan and Wayne are a lovely couple, they are busy as bees but in true Fremantle fashion they always have a smile on their face and know most of their clientele by name.
The seating is very casual and at bit cramped at lunchtime but I would battle for a table at 55 any day.
