Went to Casa Mia with my family for a birthday dinner on a few recommendations. Overall the experience was very disappointing and I will certainly not be recommending this restaurant anyone else.
On arrival, we were completely ignored for at least 5 minutes while the waitress attended to other people picking up takeaway, she did not even acknowledge that we were standing there.
I found the restaurant to be quite unclean, there was a large hole in the ceiling above the reception desk where the roof timbers and cobwebs were showing and the decor is rather dated and tacky.
The service was not at all warm or welcoming and the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the "Roman Porketta' which was pork rolled with herbs and nuts. It arrived covered in congealed 'gravy' which was inedible.
After the meal the owner came to the table to check everything was ok and then proceeded to tell jokes which we could barely even understand. Extremely embarrassing and we were all just waiting for him to go away. The one upside was that it was not an expensive meal.
The whole experience was very disappointing as there a lots of great, reasonably priced Italian places in Perth and it's a shame this is not one of them.

Went here with a group of friends about 2 months ago. Had to keep trying to get the waitresses attention for water and extra galsses as people arrived. We waited for quite a while for someone to come and take our entree orders, we finished our entree's and waited some more. We were starting to get a bit tipsy drinking wine while we were waiting for someone to take our mains order so I went and found one of the waitresses and asked her to please come take our orders as we had been waiting a long time.

I ordered a surf and turf and despite the lack of service, it was one of the best steaks I have had in ages. The prawns were large and fresh with the cream sauce that they were in wasn't overpowering. All of our serves were quite big and overall we agreed that the food was worth waiting for.

Will go back again with a more relaxed attitude to waiting for what I know will be good food.

Ok so the waitress got the order wrong - but let’s move on shall we... I have driven past this place for years and always wondered. So after sifting through the backstreets of Belmont and securing a parking spot, which can be difficult to do a lunch time, myself and my colleagues arrived at Cafe Casa Mia.

The food was much better than expected, the veal tasted great, and the chips had some crunch. Even the wrong meal, a rogue lasagne that turned up invited was presently consumed.

The ambiance isn't exactly southern Italy. In its former life the place was a bakery. But the owner did come over and offer us a joke for the day that was well received and $65 for three mains and soft drinks can't be thumbed at.

Overall:
An unusual old house sitting on the Gt Eastern Highway is the unlikely setting for Casa Mia. The dining rooms are small and a little cramped sometimes with a fire in the grate in winter. The staff are polite and efficient and the menu is quite extensive (pizza and pasta nights during the week are excellent value). I had a prawn pasta for $12 that was just full of juicy king prawns and (with the exception of the veal dish that my visitors had) everyone agreed that the food was well.......quite good.
Its BYO and worth a weekday visit if you are local to the area.
