My husband had the Beer Battered Barramundi, chips and salad for $18.50 which he absolutely enjoyed. I had the Spiaggia Antipasto for $39. This was a rather large tray of Garlic Bread with 5 Kilpatrick Oysters ( out of this world) Garlic prawns, dried tomatoes, olives, and various other side dishes. It was HUGE and we have decided this tray would best be shared by the both of us. A bottle of Vasse Felix white wine and an Irish coffee each put paid to an extremely enjoyable afternoon. We are looking forward to our next Sunday afternoon at Cafe Spaggia.

Service:

We found the service rather slow and I did have to go into reception to request our coffees but we are definitely trying again.

Ambience:

Wonderful to sit outside on a Sunday afternoon and watch the world go by.

Overall:
The food forgives the service

Went with 9 friends on our girls night out. I had chili mussels - always yummy. 2 friends had crayfish special - a real treat and very worth it too. Lamb chops, braised goat, prawns & scallop risotto, pasta marinara, paella - all said that their meals were delicious and not a single drop left on their plate.

Started sitting in the courtyard then rain came & Michael (owner) quickly got another table made up for us inside the restaurant. He realised we were celebrating 2 birthdays & so provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne & kept our cake in the fridge. Waitresses were friendly & smiley.

Love the restaurant layout and lighting. But the TV in the corner was turned on & showing a footy game. Most of the tables around us were couples. Would have been good to have the TV off.

Overall:
Another enjoyable night with good food and excellent service. Everyone took a name card & plan to be back again soon with their families.

It was for a Sunday morning breakfast which found us at the lovely Cafe Spiaggia on beautiful Scarborough beach.

After a girlie night - overnighter at a local hotel the 3 of us were looking forward to a hearty breakfast.
I had eaten here on 2 other occasions in the past -once for dinner and the other for lunch, but this was the first time I'd come for breakfast.

We were offered our choice of seating either inside or out as it was a relatively quiet morning for them at that time. We opted for outside dining so we could enjoy the beautiful sunny morning (and there has not been too much sunshine in and around Perth of late).

We were offered the menu as we were seated and were left to ponder the delicious breakfast fare selections. I opted for a big breakfast (with 2 eggs served as you wished, crispy italian bread toast, bacon, chipolata sausages, fried tomato and mushrooms). The description was right it was a BIG Breakfast! My fellow diners (my daughter and a very good friend) opted for a serving of Scrambled eggs with bacon (again lashings of food in this serve) and a BIG breakfast. We each ordered a fruit juice.

We didn't have to wait long for our meal, which was served hot and fresh to our table. Our waitress enquired would we like anything else and we were then left to enjoy our meal.

My daughter had great difficulty in finishing her meal of scrambled eggs (there was just too much for her she said). Our friend did well to get through all her big breakfast - with the exception of one of her fried eggs. I must have really been hungry as I did finish my meal completely (I was very satisfied - it was VERY filling) and I didn't need another meal til later that night!!!

We did notice a number of other patrons arriving during our time there and from the expressions and comments they were making they too were enjoying their experience at Cafe Spiaggia. With one exception - family of 5 (a mum, Dad and 3 small children), who were there as we arrived. Upon paying their bill the father complained that one of their meals wasn't brought to the table with the others and that the wife's order of Eggs Benedict was the worst they had tasted. It seemed apparent to us from their body language, comments and snide remarks that they were very difficult people and would have been very hard to please. The wife was obviously very embarrassed by her husband's outburst and they left promptly - which was good coz it left us to get on with enjoying our meal

We would certainly recommend the Cafe Spiaggia for breakfast ...though I would cancel any lunch plans afterwards ...as you just wont need lunch.

The Big breakfast was $15.90 per serve and the Scrambled eegs and bacon was $12.90. We decided against coffee as we had to return to our hotel and check out.

All up it was $57.oo for the 3 of us, which we thought was a good price considering the enjoyable morning we'd spent there and the lashings of great food we were served.

Well Done Cafe Spiaggia...! We'll be back!

What a pleasant afternoon we have just had at this restaurant on the front overlooking the ocean. Today was 40 degrees and we headed down from the hills to find the surf. It was about 2 pm and we decided that lunch in the air conditioning would be a nice start. The service was as good as it comes. We were shown to a table by the window. The tables had crisp white linen tablecloths and napkins. {I always think it is such a nice touch.} Ice cold water and two glasses arrived together with the menus. An extensive choice starting with breakfast through to light meals and then entrees and mains. A good wine and beer list. We decided that we would make this our main meal of the day and I started with an entree of "mussels." This was a generous portion and was cooked with lemongrass, coriander and chilli. John had the "bruschetta," which again was a healthy size entree. My next choice was the "salt and pepper calamari" with salad and aioli. John opted for the "fettuccine spiaggia" which was pasta with prawns, Italian sausage and sundried tomatoes. He said it was as good a pasta as he has had. My only complaint would be that because of the heat of today I was really looking forward to an icy cold crisp glass of white and although the wine came in a cooler on a bed of ice the actual bottle of wine was not particularly cold to begin with. The price was quite reasonable with entrees being between $9.00 and $14.00 and the mains around the $22.00 -$26.00. We left the restaurant after a very pleasant hour and had a siesta and then a swim in the good old Indian Ocean. Recommended.

Has a new owner from mid 06. We went there without a reservation between Christmas and New Year. The service was pretty good (a bit inexperienced but pleasant and tried hard). All 4 of us had enjoyable meals (mains only) and the price was reasonable.

It is licensed with a big selection and prices not too bad (plenty of wine $20 to $30). We didn't have sweets but there didn't seem to be a big selection.

Nice food and pleasant staff. We will go there again.
