  • I had the special of the table which was a spaghetti bolognese. I was expecting something rich and classic italian - what I got was a plate of angel spaghetti with vegetables and a watery sauce. I was very disappointed!
Everyone else said their meals were OK but nothing to rave about. We prob wouldn't go back.

  • Hugh and I had brunch on a weekend with a friend. Our friend suggested Cafe Villa and we are yet to forgive her. The food scene here in Perth is just starting to 'get there' but this place is stuck in the early 2000s, keeping their ware safe, expected and dull. Like the last person said, it is acceptable if you are not expecting too much. Although something a little more is not that much of a challenge.

  • The Darlings are diners, whether it be breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner; we love eating out. When we find a great place we tell the world and take everyone there. When a place or it's people let us down, we don't go back. Until we hear some great reports on Cafe Villa, it is on the 'no go' list.

  • Let's start with the best; poached eggs on toast with bacon. Eggs were good, toast was toast and bacon was cold and fatty. Person 2 had the griddle cakes. Thick, heavy, stodgy, flavourless, obviously previously cooked and microwaved when ordered. Person 3 (me) had a ham, tomato and cheese toasted sandwich on gluten free bread. It was a child-sized portion that emerged that even got comments from the neighboring table. Exactly 1 slice of tomato, 1 slice of processed ham and a slather of butter that I realised was cheese once it congealed. On asking if this was normal for over $10 the rather unhappy manager interrupted me and said "Look, do you want it or not?" and then promptly took it away then did us a HUGE favour by not charging us for it.

  • One lovely girl from Germany made the difference however typically she is only backpacking and will be leaving soon. No one would take ownership for the problem of the mini/budget toasted sandwich. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told to find her inside. I suggested she come and find us.

  • We wondered why we haven't been back in years and this visit and quickly bought back the memories. Same bad service from the same manager. Average food. Good coffee. Great location. Why it was packed would be the location and that it is not pushing too many conventions food-wise or ambience. It caters for the stock standard customer who doesn't expect too much. For the rest of us who do care where we go and what we eat, go to any of the other fantastic cafes in the area.

  • The food was superb, we had Turkish bread and dips to share and it was quite a generous entree.
My crumbed chicken stuffed with broccoli and brie topped with the most delicious djionaise sauce is something I'd go back for! The mash was so creamy, it just melted in my mouth.
My dining companions had the chicken parmigiana and a creamy sauce pasta and said how much they enjoyed theirs as well.

  • We dined at Cafe Villa last week, on a Friday night. The food was superb. We ordered garlic bread for entree, which was perfectly cooked and falvoursome. Not too oily, and there were 3 large slices. For mains I ate the Chicken and Herb meatballs in a rose sauce. This was delicious. The meatballs were tender, and the sauce a perfect mix of tomato and cream. The fettucini was perfectly cooked. I ordered the entree size, and it was just the righr amount. My partner ate the Arabiatta and enjoyed it. The pasta and sauce were nice and there was plenty of Italian sausage in the dish. They have a good selection of drinks, and was pleasantly surprised to see Little Creatures Pipsqueak cider on the list!

  • This is the third time we had been to Cafe Villa and we really enjoyed it. We will definately visit again. For the entree, two mains and two alcoholic drinks it was just over $60, which is very reasonable, and the food was of a hight standard. I'd recommend it for a dinner for two or even a small group booking.

  • Went to Cafe Villa this morning for breakfast and the food was sensational. Definitely one of the best (if not the best) breakfast I have had at a cafe. I had the Turkish Eggs which are scrambled eggs with feta cheese and spinach on toasted turkish bread and a side of bacon. My girlfriend had the cinnamon and vanilla griddle cakes with roasted apple, ice cream and maple syrup. Both were extremely tasty and fresh and the servings were huge. The griddle cakes were 2 cm thick and I must have had about 4 eggs on my plate. I didn't give 5 stars because my coffee was very bitter and the pineapple juice was obviously poured from a bottle but my girlfriends chai latte was lovely.

  • Not bad but not excellent. We were asked if we wanted any drinks before we had even sat down but this wasn't such a big deal because we both knew what we wanted. The drinks came out quickly but we waited quite a while for our breakfast order to be taken and it took a long time to come out.

  • We had a booking here at 7.30 for six, two of our party had been seated when my friends and I arrived. What a charming place this is.

My partner and I were the only ones who ordered an entree, we had the tapas Plate to share which was great, one of the best tapas plates we have had recently, everything was fresh, my favorite was the calamari and the marinated artichokes, my partner raved about the French onion dip which was homemade.
For mains two had the warm beef salad, which was deemed to hot (spicy) to eat by one and perfect by the other, the nasi goreng looked good and there was nothing left in the bowl. The marinated scotch fillet looked awesome too.

I had smoked chicken pasta, which I loved, the chicken was tender and the pasta was fresh and filling , my boyfriend insisted I order a large so he could share some but after eating his crumbed and stuffed chicken breast could only manage a few mouthfuls.

  • We were there for two hours and served promptly and out of the restaurant by 9.30. My only complaint was the bottled water for the table was served at room temperature.

It came to $240 which included a bottle of wine, a beer and a bourbon.

  • The best food in Leederville without a doubt! I have been here on several occasions and have tried the stuffed chicken which was amazing, and the roasted veggie stack which was the best vegetarian meal I have ever eaten, and a fettuccine dish which was hot and tasty. Prices are very reasonable (around low $20s for a main). Serves are large without being too ridiculous.

  • in a nutshell, middle of the range prices for top quality food...i had the chicken parmigiana and i can unhesitatingly say it was the best i've had...thick, tender and not overcooked...the beer battered chips that came with it were also cooked just right...the 2 daughters had crumbed chicken breast stuffed with spinach and pancetta on garlic mash...they both loved the dish, especially the garlic mash and the small bit i was allowed to taste was delicious...the birthday girl chose the mackerel and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it but as i wasn't allowed a taste i can't verify how good it was...

everybody else at the table were also very happy with their meals agreed the food was top class and with the use of the VIP Card, great value

    V
  • I had a Sunday breakfast here which was quite nice. We were offered a choice of tables and sat right by the window, which is a nice people watching spot. Cafe Villa is very well positioned with a relaxing atmosphere.

I ordered the waffles which came with baked apple and vanilla ice cream. This was the only sweet thing on the menu and I thought it might be a bit over the top for breakfast, but the ice cream came in a separate container so you could add as much or as little as you liked. The waffles were all mini heart shaped which is sweet. They were quite soft and I would have liked them a bit crispier but overall not bad.

The people next to us had a big cooked breakfast which was absolutely huge and looked delicious - I'd love to come back and sample it. It's also available at lunch which would be another option.

Our lattes came out quickly before the meal and although small were well made. The only thing I think they need to improve on is service - our plates weren't cleared for ages even though the people next to us who arrived after us and ate after us had theirs cleared.

Overall a nice experience and I'll be returning.

    V
  • We finally dined at this cafe after passing by it on countless occasions on route to the Leedy hotel. It was a Tuesday night around 8:30pm. Cafe Villa have Monday/Tuesday "Risotto" specials night on both of these days with a choice of over 7 risotto dishes INCLUDING a glass of red or white house wine which can be swapped for a glass of soft drink or coffee for only $16.90. Amazing value!

I had the Italian sausage and spicy napolitana sauce (taste was excellent - my risotto actually tasted like risotto! it was not raw or too mushy!), while my partner chose the chicken/mushroom and basil concoction minus a few ingredients listed on the menu while requested additional extras. Our other diner ordered a chicken and spinach risotto which he enjoyed thoroughly as well.

My only fault with the cafe was that they forgot to bring out our tasting plate - but s*#& happens and im glad they forgot because i was soo FULL after the risotto. Needless to say, our waiter was very apologetic and offered to do our dishes again...but it was late and well i was not too fussed. The house white wines were great - light and fruity - went well with my dish. Overall, i'd definitely be back for their Risotto nights - our end bill was $50.70 - and for 3 dishes + 3 glasses of wine it was excellent value for a chill back night out.

ps: its an excellent spot for people gazing if you seat outside under the heaters :)

We had a great table and the food was superb - I had the crumbed chicken with bacon and camembert on sweet potato mash and it was DELICIOUS! The VIP card also saved us lots of $$$ as the meals are 2-4-1 on Mondays and Tuesdays - perfect! :)

  • Came here this morning and had the Potato and Corn Cakes and my siter had the Eggs Benedict. She reported that it was lovely and the eggs were cooked perfectly although the hollandaise sauce was a bit too lemony.
My Potato and Corn cakes was an unusual choice for breakfast as it was more like a full meal. I was very full afterwards and lunch wasn't required until mid afternoon.
On other occasions I have also had the Turkish eggs and a Mushroom Omelette here which have been top quality.
The coffee is very nice although I'd order the mug as the normal cups are very small.
Haven't been here for anything other than breakfast but will be sure to report if I do!

  • I dine in Cafe Villa very regularly and above all else it's in a good spot on the corner in Leederville and has a very attractive ambience. The service is always very friendly and beautiful and the food is reasonably priced and good quality. On the downside the toilets are not too good and the outside infra red heaters are often not working, which is a bummer if you really want to watch the world go by and then have to move inside.

  • As I used to work in Leederville, Cafe Villa was the frequent option for work lunches.

Comfortable, relaxed surroundings - ideal for groups of friends.

All the food I've tried on the menu has been more than satisfactory. The staff are very easy-going and full of life.

The only one criticism I can make is the most recent visit when there was a hair in my pasta. The manager at the time was very good about it, apologised and discounted the bill.

Aside from this incident, Cafe Villa has proven to be a good choice for lunch and dinner.
