As stated before, this is very much a pub and not a gastro-pub! Saying that tho I had a perfectly ok meal there last night. I had had a craving for mussels during the day so partner suggested going to Cap S for their chili mussels.

We started our meal with a serve of turkish bread and 3 dips. The hummus was over dry and really did taste like just mashed up chick pea with no tahini or seasoning. The pumpkin dip was just cold soup of the day (I'm pretty sure) and the other dip was too runny to dip into! The bread was good and plentiful however.

Luckily the mussels were of a much better standard, there was a big bowl and the sauce/broth was well spiced with chili and tomato. I would have liked a bit more sauce/broth but there was enough. The bread was good too: crusty as described!

All in all - to feed two people for just over $30 was very good, I just wanted to reiterate to people that you wouldn't come here for the dining experience alone! Good range of beers on tap however and service was efficient.

This is a pub. If you go here expecting silver service you are in the wrong place.

I went here on Friday night and it was very busy, lucky we had booked. I ordered the Surf and turf well done; it came out still moist with plumb prawns and mushroom gravy to the side. My partner ordered the Lamb from the specials menu and he rated it highly saying that is was extremely tender. Others on the table ordered Fish and Chips, Surf and Turf medium and a Veggie Pizza everyone enjoyed their meals - no complaints.

It's a great place to go for a casual meal and a few beers.
