Overall:
Frankly I'm surprised about the other reviews after our experience here. Our Saturday lunch in a large group of 10 which we had booked for a golden anniversary celebration went nothing but smoothly. We were the only diners there apart from a large wine/cheese tasting group who were also served a meal. They also had much of the dining room cordoned off for a wedding that night. We had a lovely, attentive and helpful waitress practically to ourselves. Her service was definitely 5 star.

I can comment that my lamb shanks were absolutely delicious and were thoroughly enjoyed. The garden setting is a lovely touch as we went for a stroll through the gardens and to see the waterfall. There is plenty of room for kids to play outside on the grass and it is a lovely, relaxing place to have lunch at.

Overall:
Went to Sunday lunch today, had to wait for a few mins to get a table and to set one up for us. No one welcomed us when we got there and had to interrupt a waitperson in order to get her attention. We were finally seated; waitperson took our order for drinks but took them around 15 mins just to get our wine. We asked for some water on the table and that took another 15 mins just for a glass of water. The main course took around 40-45 mins just to be served. It was understandable that the place was busy but you would expect that a place like this is capable of a busy situation. The ambiance though overall was lovely, with beautiful green lawn and nice flowers around (we had alfresco dining) We were never asked if the food was alright or if we needed anything considering that it was not very busy anymore by the time we got our meals. Our side dish came around 10 mins after we were served our main course which meant that we were almost finished by the time we got it. The side dish we ordered was Olive Mashed Potatoes but we were given olive potatoes boiled but NOT mashed. The main course though was lovely and was very well done, both the steak and the fish. After our meals, we were not even offered if we wanted desserts or coffees. We then decided to leave and go to the chocolate factory for desserts. Overall, the main courses we had were beautiful apart from the side dish, the ambiance was great especially if you are after a nice relaxing spring afternoon lunch, it really was beautiful. You can walk downstairs a bit and have a look at the beautiful waterfalls. However, being a fine dining restaurant where the price isn’t cheap as well, they better polish their service and be a bit more professional and attentive to their guests.
