We had high expectations after friends recommended this place and overall we weren't disappointed. The butter chicken lacked flavour which was a shame (particularly after the rave reviews we'd read about it) but the other curries were great and the bill at the end of the evening was more than reasonable.

The service was efficient without being intrusive. However we were slightly perplexed when we asked our waiter if he could recommend any dishes from the menu and he informed us that he couldn't as he didn't eat Indian food.

Nice setting and great chairs make this place a little more upmarket than your average Indian restaurant.

I'd go back for a great budget meal.

The butter chicken is unbelievable - its absolutely the best i have tasted and i eat alot of indian!!!!

The service is wonderful - the staff are so well mannered and always at your service

Curries are pretty authentic and spicy! We had the lunch specials which were good value. I had chicken aarsala which was quite spicy for me, though it wasn't burning hot. Friends had lamb vindaloo (hot!) and the fried chicken lunch special - which looked like fried chicken tikka with raita and lentils.

The food was well flavoured and made with care.

Good service. Our waiter was helpful with the menu. Chilled water was served immediately and we were seated in a cozy spot. Orders arrived promptly too.

Nice decor. Understated but still very Indian. There is a dining section under a skylight room. Quite romantic.

Food was good, not the best Indian in Perth but certainly not the worst either. Will definitely dine here again. Lunch specials are very good value.

I took my girlfriend out for her birthday to the Cinnamon on the park , being a Pom and living in places like Manchester and the middle east she sort of has high expectations of her curries.

I can safely say that my GF was very impressed with the food and even stated that it was the best curries she has had in OZ.

That happy in fact we are taking some of our Pommy friends there next week.

My husband is of Indian descent and we both agreed that the food was divine, all the meat very tender and well cooked and in very well flavoured sauces. There were generous meat to sauce ratios and they are certainly not stingy with the portions! The menu uses different numbered chillies to denote hotness, which is useful when choosing a suitable curry for different palates.

We went on a saturday night and the ambiance was really good, completely packed out and we still did not have to wait too long to be served or for the food to arrive.

The only thing which annoyed the guys in our group was that it is BYO wine only, so they had to buy their beers there.

We had starters, mains of a meat dish each, rices, pappadums, some accompaniments, desserts, some beers and coffees and it averaged out to be $50 a head which we all agreed was very reasonable.

A group of 8 of us went and everybody was completely stuffed and satisfied on leaving, everybody agreeing that it was a great evening out and would all go back without a doubt!!!

On both occasions I visited at dinner time on a Friday night, the service was good on both occasions (although one seemed to be hovering near our table but I put that down to us choosing to sit next a toasty outdoor heater!) The lamb biryani was especially tasty and very tender, as was the goat biryani. The servings are also a very decent size. Would not hesitate to go back again!

This has become one of our favourite restaurants since moving to this part of Perth and we are constantly recommending it to others.

The food is amazing (don't go without trying the lamb shank curry, the cinnamon goat curry and all the vegetable dishes!), and the staff never fail to look after us no matter the occasion. We've dined casually, lunchtime, for special occasions and also ordered takeaway - every single time has been fantastic. We've just celebrated a birthday there the other night and were extremely well looked after despite the restaurant being full and packed to the rafters.

The ambience is very warm and welcoming - the incense burning at the door is a nice touch - you can smell the restaurant halfway down the street! The maitre'd is friendly and welcoming, the staff are on the ball and very helpful with any queries. Makes all the difference!

Craving a decent Indian curry and after hearing so many recommendations for Cinnamon on the Park, we booked a table there last week. We met for pre-dinner drinks at The Balmoral and found the restaurant reasonably full for a Thursday night when we arrived. As other reviewers have noted, the first thing that impressed me were the plush, comfortable suede looking chairs.

We were pretty hungry so we decided on a tasting plate to start while we looked over the rest of the menu and devoured the complimentary pappadums. All of the usual suspects were there along with a few surprises and we eventually settled on Butter Chicken (my all time favourite and a good indication of quality for me), lamb Rogan josh and goat biryani with some garlic naan and raita.

The tasting plate had an average samosa, two spicy shish kebabs, two pieces of tandoori chicken, two vegetable fritters and some dipping sauces.

The service was reasonable; my only complaints being the waiter who served us having a dirty bandage on his hand (and a slight language barrier) and having to catch the cashiers eye so that he could get the attention of the waiter.

The butter chicken was a bit of a disappointment for me, it lacked the full flavour that I was craving. The goat and the Rogan josh were both tender but I was put off the lamb by the huge amount of oil it was swimming in. I guess after the recommendations we had heard, we were expecting more flavour and the “wow” factor. The meal was adequate but my friend and I both commented that we had enjoyed better. I would go back to the Red Turban over here any day and we both said despite its poor service, the food at Maya Masala was so much better.

My husband and I booked to go to this restaurant as we are mad curry fans and heard good reports. When we arrived I looked around the restaurant and noticed how nice the chairs were - plush suede. At first it didn't look like they had any room for us (even though we booked), however we were finally led to a table at the very back of the restaurant in an area nowhere near as nice as the front part - and the chairs were definitely nowhere near as plush as the ones in the front, actually they were quite tacky. Our table was against the back wall which was a mirror, so one of us was looking in the mirror all night. No waiter came over to take our order, I had to call someone over. Before we even ordered we were told that there would be some wait on our food. However, that's as far as my complaints go. We ordered the assorted platter between the 2 of us for starters and it was massive - and delicious. There was just long enough wait in between our entree and main for us to regain a little bit of our appetite. I ordered the lamb shank curry (recommended by the waiter) and asked for it to be hotter than normal. 3 large shanks came out on a plate covered in a hot curry sauce. They were absolutely divine! My husband ordered the Chicken Chettinaad, however that didn't have as much taste (or hotness) as the lamb shanks. We were too stuffed to even finish our meals - very good value for money!

I visited this premises twice in the same week. The first time for lunch with some friends and the second to pick up takeaway for my husband and I one Friday night.

For the lunch I ordered beef vindaloo combo with rice and vegetables. The vindaloo arrived a fiery red colour on a rectangular plate with basmati rice in the middle and creamy navaratna korma vegetables on the side. There was also a dollop of mango chutney adorning the plate alongside a few baby spinach leaves drizzled in soothing yoghurt. The vindaloo was EXTREMELY HOT and I love vindaloo. Definitely not for the faint hearted, I was sweating and crying and experiencing dizzy hallucinations by the end of my meal! Of course, that could have also been caused by the wine....this place has a good wine list, too. ALL WORTH IT for only $8.90! YUM!

For takeaway on the Friday night, my husband and I ordered a serve of beef masala ($14), a serve of navaratna korma vegetables ($10.50) and rice and also some garlic naan bread ($3, enough for two people) and pappadums. Unfortunately, by the time I hauled the takeaway back home, the naan bread and pappdums had become a little too moist and lacked crispiness. The garlic naan bread was divine, slathered with finely diced fresh garlic and totally addictive! The beef masala was very mild in comparison to the vindaloo, I didn't enjoy it as much but the flavours were still lovely and the serve was generous and full of chunks of tender meat.

The service was friendly and attentive on both occasions and the takeaway was ready on time. This is a great place to get a wide variety of reasonably priced good quality Indian food. Definitely worth a visit if you're after curry in a hurry!

Ordered takeaway last night and we have never eaten in, so this review is purely for their takeaway.

We didn't have a menu when we called and the person we spoke to on the phone was very patient with my questions and enquiries (we knew we wanted hot chicken curry and something vindaloo) even though it sounded like they were very busy! Was warned that food would take 30-40 minutes due to Friday night crowds and sure enough it was ready when I got there in 40 minutes.

My partner likes to measure the generosity of an Indian takeaway with gravy to meat ratios- in this case they turned out to be very generous indeed. Meat wasn't left swimming in an ocean of gravy and servings were highly substantial. Had garlic naan (with garlic you could see and smell from a mile away, yum!), palak paneer (very fresh cheese that was light and soft, not like the rubbery paneer you get in some restaurants), beef vindaloo and chicken madras. All very satisfying! We now have their menu and I do wish we had it when we ordered as they offer duck and goat curries as well, which I would love to try next time.

Staff at the restaurant were very professional and friendly, though I speak only from a takeaway client's perspective.

3 of us went on a Friday night and had originally booked a table for 4 people. When we arrived the place was packed out and we waited a while to be seated. When we got seated the 3 of us where squashed on a 2 person table in the corner of the restaurant with barely enough space for the cutlery and wine bottles. Makes me wonder what they would of done if 4 of us had made it?

We waited ages for our drinks order to be taken and had to ask a waiter to take our food order!

GOOD POINTS: The food when it arrived was good and the portions were huge.

BAD POINTS: Sat on a tiny table with your elbows hitting the person next to you. Bad Service.

My colleagues and I eat lunch here quite regularly. The food is fantastic, and the service is great... plus, it's fantastic value.

We had takeaway as we live close by and had been wanting to try it for a long time.

The food was perfect. We had Beef Korma & Squid Marsala. Both beef and the squid were so tender. The rice was perfect and we received 2 pappadums with the order too. We ordered garlic naan bread which was quite oily and smothered in garlic.

When we dropped in to collect the food, the resturant set up looked really nice and I noted the lovely plush chairs. So we'll be dining in sometime soon.

Prices $15-$18 a meal.

I've been here quite a few times since it opened and I must say for an Indian restaurant the service and ambience is excellent. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The food is great especially the entrees.

I loved the Bombay Prawns and the Chicken 65.

Definitely one of my favourite Indian restaurants.
