Welcome to Clancy's Fish Pub Canning Bridge

Clancy's Fish Pub Canning Bridge

Somebody once said, "Life is too short to drink bad wine" - and we believe them! At Clancy's Fish Pubs you will find a great bunch of really good wines from Western Australia's smaller producers. Available by the glass or bottle, you can enjoy wines from all over our fair state. And if the subject of local produce tickles your fancy, you'll be thrilled to hear that Clancy's Cellar Door is now open! We're providing an avenue for small local wine producers to sell their quality produce and promote their own cellar doors. Choose a bottle of wine (this is the hard part) and then drink it in the pub or take it home.

Here's something you probably didn't know - Clancy's Fish Pub is one of W.A's biggest supporters of live local music and has been for over 10 years! We work hand in hand with the WA Music Industry Association (WAMI) to give up and coming artists a platform to share their music. Each of the Clancy's Fish Pubs has a different sound, with Freo being home to blues, roots and rock, Subiaco pumping out awesome reggae and beats, and Canning Bridge giving you great chilled out tunes to tap your toe to. And because we find it hard to put price tag on live local music, we never have a cover charge.

With giant seafood platters, melt in your mouth fish and hot and spicy chilli mussels Clancy's deserves its reputation for serving the best value and quality seafood in town! Although we're famous for seafood, we also serve some great 'landfood'! From tender T-bones to duck shanks, we've got plenty of meals for the fish-phobe. And if you thought choosing from our menu was hard enough, we also cook up daily specials which feature hearty soups, pizzas and other tasty morsels. With food to share and food to tackle solo, one thing's for sure - you'll always get a good feed in a relaxed, casual environment at Clancy's Fish Pub.

Get into some hip hops at Clancy's! We've got all the news on the latest brews such as masterpieces from Gage Roads and Matso's Broome Brewery, so come down and try something different. We have top quality locally made microbrews and ciders on tap at each of the Fish Pubs. These are made in small batches and with a great deal of love, passion and care (often mistaken for blood, sweat and tears) from local brewsters and will please the most discerning beer drinker.

Opening Times Open 7 days a week from 12noon

This was my second visit, my partner ordered the Seafood chowder which we had loved on our first visit this one however was lacking the essence of chowder, no potato it basically consisted of a bowl of cream with a handful of seafood thrown in for good measure, very disappointing. Garlic bread was soggy preprepared the butter taste off. The caesar salad had seen better days, lettuce was so limp no crunch whatsoever serve was quite small considering the $19.00 price. My main was the red emporer grilled to perfection, the side salad again was pretty pathetic, the tomato tasted like it had sat in a dish for a couple of days....overall we were quite disappointed

After reading the reviews on this site i was encouraged to try out this pub seeing its just down the road from where i live.
I ordered oysters kilpatrick and "surf and turf". Sadly i was disappointed with both.
The oysters were VERY over cooked and tasted like they had been frozen.
The surf and turfs looked lovely when it came out but after a couple of bites i realised the prawns were over cooked and the steak was tasteless.
Surf and turf was served with chips and salad and is a very big serving.
Its just a shame the same enthusiasm isn't put into the cooking of the food as the presentation.

Service was . . . missing.
It wasn't a busy evening but yet the staff were rude and "annoyed" to clear plates and provide cutlery.
The bar staff on the other hand were in a cheerful mood and happy to have a chat while getting your drinks.

I arrived at 7pm on a saturday night and was surprised at how hot it was inside. With little or no aircon the inside tables are very very hot and with flies buzzing around the meals, it was not a pleasant experience.

Overall:
Its sad to think that so many pubs in Perth serve food that you can only enjoy when you have had a couple of beers. I was excited to try Clanys Fish pub because i love a good pub meal but i left feeling ripped off, hot and disappointed. I will not be going back.

I had the Salmon Caesar and some of the lettuce was rather off colour. The salad was rather disappointing overall and definitely on the average side in comparison to other places I have eaten it recently. I used to eat at this Clancy's a lot but it seems the food has gone down hill a fair bit, except for the Fried Mice which are always a winner. I recommended dishes to others at the table based on previous experiences but they also looked somewhat different and nowhere near as nice as what they used to. For the price (mostly $20+ mains) i think the quality of food is not quite there and the quality and presentation could be significantly improved. It wouldn't take much.

There is always a good feel about the place, inside and out. I think the decor is starting to look a little tired.

Overall:
I will go back to Clancy's as I like the place, but I'm not as excited about eating there anymore as I used to be. When you go to a bar and spend $40-50 per head on dinner and a couple of drinks and the food is disappointing you cant help but feel its a waste of money and you might as well have prepared this at home... Great beer list though.

A fun little pub restaurant with good food and great atmosphere, though can get pretty sweltering in the middle of summer if not sitting under an air conditioning vent! We noticed some table swapping once patrons left as obviously some tables are cooler than others. As it was our first time we persevered and stayed put in the corner. Food and service was good at 6.30pm but I would imagine it would get very busy (and hotter) after 7.30pm when the crowds start arriving and they have live music. Good variety of beers which were very welcome on the evening we went as it was still around 40 degrees. For dinner Hubby and teenage Son shared a Grilled Seafood Platter and Chilli Mussels which they said was tasty but couldn't finish. I had the Warmed Beef Salad with Asian Dressing which was really just a beef stir fry with lots of chunky vegetables (capsicum, tomato, cucumber, baby spinach and onion) and probably a little too oily for my liking though the Asian flavour was tasty. Also ordered two serves of garlic bread which ended up being 3 huge slices per serve and only managed to eat one serve between us. Overall would recommend and would definitely head back there knowing exactly which booth to sit in if the weather was hot!!

Great food for a 'pub'. The grilled seafood platter and the chilli mussels are very yummy. Beers on tap. They even cater for kids. Fun place to go with a group of friends for a casual, relaxed evening. Live bands add to the atmosphere.
