Welcome to Como Hotel (The)

Como Hotel (The)

The Como Hotel stands as a landmark along the busy Canning Hwy in the heart of Como. Its purple exterior and space-like logo are hard to miss and the retro, funky decor of the restaurant and bar areas make it Perth's first truly art deco hotel.

The Como underwent major renovations in the mid 90s capitalising on this 1960s character, transforming into Perth's finest art deco landmark. Along with this physical transformation 'The Como' was born. From the very beginning the vibe of The Como was fun, vibrant, quirky, relaxed, funky and totally unique. To this day this is reflected throughout every aspect of the hotel, from the lime green felt booths, bizarre bar displays, original vespas, porn-gold & leopard trim couches to unique culinary masterpieces and the vibrancy of all who work here. It is for this our customers return time and time again!

It could be a debatable topic, whether The Como attracts the diverse range of customers who patronise our place or whether it's the variety of these characters that make The Como, either way we've got something for everyone! On any given day you could be here appreciating fine hand-crafted beers in the courtyard, honing your pool skills, soaking the vibes in front of the fireplace, catching up with friends & a chat on the funky retro couches or having an absolute rage on a Friday night, we've got it all!

The Como is part of the prestigious pub group known as the Australian Leisure and Hospital Group. All ALH venues are considered Icons and include other landmark properties such as "The Sail & Anchor", "The Vic", "The Brass Monkey" and "The Queens", with new acquisitions including "The Belgian Beer Café" and "The Balmoral".

Like all these venues The Como strives to create that food & beverage experience with a difference.

Opening Times Our a la carte menu is available from 12pm til late 7 days a week,

Overall:
Large group, midweek night. Seated outside but then offered to be re-seated inside which was good as it was chilly. Seated at 2 large tables in an area set up with lots of little kids- if given the choice would have sat outside and gone home to pick up a jumper. Atmosphere wasn't too great in that area. Wait staff appeared to be under the pump. My table was lucky, both tables ordered after a 30 min wait, we got served our mains after another 20 mins or so, the other table still had not received their meals by the time we had finished eating. They made 2 complaints and were given a bottle of wine, the meals were about another 15 mins.

The food- I chose well, pork medallions with cabbage and bacon and a spicy tomato sauce. I really enjoyed it. the others at the table all enjoyed their meals too. Menu had lots to offer everyone. I ordered dessert- meringue with strawberries and passionfruit coulis, it was very average, crystallised meringue is a pet hate. Never mind. the coffee was good and hot and served quickly.

I would go back as I have enjoyed lunch there in the past- maybe it was just an off night.
