  • Been going to Coode St for years--we are local so it is a great option on the weekend. Food is always of a high standard---we tend to go there mainly for breakfast, and I always get the same thing---boring---but I love the eggs bennie---yum---a great way to start the weekend. My partner loves the big breakfast or the scrambled and salmon.

  • The only let down at Coode St (apart from the toilets) is the service---usually have to go up and ask for another coffee, and don't know how many times are orders have been fuzzled up--though they do fix it up. Lots of young workers so I guess that is expected.

  • Met a friend here for breakfast on Tuesday Morning, enjoyed the sun and fresh air sitting outside. Poached eggs with bacon on toast was ordered. Average toast, eggs cooked perfectly, bacon crispy (although it did have rind and gristle so had to pick it out). Fresh coldish orange juice. A GREAT coffee! The service was quick, friendly and professional. Everything on the menu looked yummy, but had to go for the old favorites. With an entertainment voucher total came to $18 bargain!

  • Exceptional peach and ricotta with fig toast. Baked cheesecake was sublime...and came with real cream! Cannot stand that awful spray cream. Should be banned really. Coffees are marvellous. Temperature of the beverage is perfect, as is the froth. Been a while since I had coffee this nice.

  • Always, always excellent. Staff are pleasant, generous with their smiles and (most importantly) professional. It's a shame service like this is so rare, since it's not actually hard to be nice.

  • Nice. Understated. I like it because it's not trying too hard. It's comfy, clean and uncluttered. I still haven't figured out if all the newspapers are for you to read while you wait/dine, or if they're for sale!

  • This is a fantastic little cafe in the middle of residential Mt. Lawley. The service is truly something else, and that alone makes it worth a return visit. Not to mention the exceptional breakfast/cakes... oh that fig toast...

  • Highly recommend it to anyone - breakfast either on your way to work or a relaxed holiday - laid back breakkie. Good coffee (this is the only area where there is some room for improvement) - Guys try switching to VELVET or FIX type coffee.

  • This is one of my very favourite places in Perth. For a Sunday breakfast you can't do better than joining the locals for some scrumptious eggs benedict with asparagus, or pancakes smothered in fresh summer berries. Bring a bottle of BYO bubbly to make it a special occasion and feel part of the Mt Lawley in-crowd.

  • Have been meaning to come here for a while for breakfast. My husband and I dined here today for breakfast and it was fantastic.

Great service, the porridge was yummy and my husband had the gourmet baked beans which were very nice as well. I also had the "Morning Glory" juice which was very refreshing. Will definitely be back!!!!

  • After our disappointing breakfast at the Blue Duck a few days prior this was a breath of fresh air. Even though it was a Tuesday, Coode St Cafe was bustling. Ordering is done at the counter and then the friendly staff bring your meal to you. I had the baked peaches with fresh ricotta on fig & fennel toast, which was divine. It was basically baked tinned peaches, large sweet strawberries on delicious fig filled toast with a generous container of ricotta on the side. It was beautifully presented and both looked and tasted yummy. I also enjoyed my mocha which was large and well made with perfect froth. Prices were very reasonable with my mocha costing $4.30 and the baked peach dish costing $9.50. My friend said her porridge with pureed fruits was divine ($9.50) and she also enjoyed her freshly squeezed orange and strawberry juice ($6.50). We will definitely be returning!

  • This is our local hang out. The food is good and the service is always quick and friendly. Must remember to book a table for w/end breakfast. They fill up pretty fast and parking gets quite tight.

We have breakfast here at least once a week and enjoy the casual atmosphere.

  • Whee, I'm glad this place got added to the site.

It's been a week or two since I went there, but I'll do my best to remember.

Went there for lunch with a friend. Was a very nice atmosphere... casual, but still very nice.

Service was good - polite people and food came out at a good speed.

We had a quiche and a tart, both of which were delicious and came with a nice bean salad and fresh asparagus. I think they were only about $10 as well, which was a bargain.

Anyhow, it's a great little place for lunch, far enough from Beaufort Street to be more relaxed and less crowded.
