Overall:
My family and I "STUMBLED" upon The Dons.
We visited Kalamunda on one of our regular trips to the free-range egg farm and also our usual week-end food-hunting. As weekenders were all busy eating, the restaurants were full everywhere, we headed for the car when we saw The Dons sign.
The restaurant was quite packed, but it didn't take long before we get our food. We ordered mussel with cream sauce which was absolutely out of this world, the main course was expertly done, the sauce on the spaghetti was really tasty but not overpowering, serving size was very generous but you got to notice the aftertaste, it was so good.
Just last week we headed for The Dons once again, this time the Chef/owner told us that he had some crab and asked if we would like to order that. It turned out to be a real surprise, I am not sure if the dish was in the menu but it was a mixture of crab, mussels in delicious tomato base sauce, topped with fried calamari and the slice of bread at the bottom of the dish was so tasty. Perhaps the description is not as good as if you were to taste the dish yourself.
Service was excellent, as the size of the restaurant is not that big, they were easy to find and very quick in getting your request accommodated.
