Food:

I was with a party of 17 people, so we ordered the banquet menu, which was $50 per head. For starters there was beef salad, curry puffs and fish cakes, which was followed by Tom Kha soup. We had the option of prawn or chick. I had prawn soup. For mains, there was Pad Thai, Phaneng Curry, Red Beef Curry, Green Chicken curry, Fish fillets, stir fry dish with mixed seafood. All of the mains were delicious. There was so much food on the table, and they just seemed to bring more and more out. For desert we all had a plate with 3 little desserts. Though I couldn't eat desert, as i was to full from the main meal. Overall food was fantastic.

Service:

The waiters were excellent. They showed us to our table, pulled out our chairs, and placed our napkins on us. Ordering drinks was great - they always seemed to come just when our drinks were getting low.

Ambience:

There wasnt any background music, which was a little disappointing.

Overall:
Food and Service was terrific. Will definitely go back.

Sensational. We started off with the vegetarian spring rolls, which were nice. For mains we had the Gang Ped (Veggie Red Curry), Pard Thai (Veggie Pad Thai) and steamed rice. The Red curry was the best one I have ever had in my life, I had it for lunch the next day and wanted to go back and have it for dinner again. Just beautiful. The Pard Thai was very nice as well, but it was the red curry that won my heart.

Service:

Friendly and efficient. Table cleared, new cutlery bought out and water bottle replaced seamlessly, like a well oiled machine.

Ambience:

No music which was a bit of a let down, quite busy, few people wearing old/work/thongs which bought the general feel of the place down a notch.

Overall:
Will go back time and time again for the Red Curry alone.

We went here on a spur of a moment. There were five of us, it’s Friday night and we’re looking for something a little bit different from the usual. This was my first visit to Dusit Thai restaurant and it certainly made a quite an impression on me.

We ordered several main dishes for variety. We did enjoy all the food here but the best have to be Beef salad, Som Tum and Chicken curry (Masaman).

We were well looked after by the wait staffs, they were professional and friendly. I am very impressed with the level of service we received as this was undoubtedly made our night more enjoyable.

I remember first walking in and being absolutely floored by the number of "accessories" on the walls. Nearly every pillar in the room was adorned by an award of some description - several of them, if memory serves right, being gold plates.

The staff are very friendly and the owner stopped by our table for a quick word (I am told that he ALWAYS does this).

Dusit Thai is slightly more expensive than your normal Thai restaurant. That said, it is very good food and worth every penny.

The Chu Chee (not sure if I'm spelling this right) Prawns are my boss' favourite... and I was very tempted to steal more off her during our Christmas lunch if not for the fact that she would have probably bop me on the head for eating her share.

I also liked the Hors d'oeuver Dusit - according to their website, it's "deep-fried marinated sundried beef served with cashew nuts and spicy cabbage salad". I know what you're thinking... BILTONG/JERKY?? At a Thai restaurant??

Why yes actually. Although, there is a huge difference. While the beef might look like a regular chewy piece of jerky, it is actually quite tender on the inside. The accompanying salad and cashew nuts also make this appetiser something I would not mind having as a main.

There has been much dispute over which is the best Thai restaurant in the metro area - Thai Corner or Dusit Thai. I must say, I hope that when I eventually visit Thai Corner, that it does live up to its end of the tug of war!

Dusit Thai Restaurant is by far my favourite Thai in Perth in all regards.

We arrived having accidentally booked the wrong night but they fitted all 7 of us in with no complaints (even though all tables seemed full!)

We ordered 6 dishes including the old favourite Phad Thai which had plenty of freshly cooked succulent prawns, Stir fried vegies cooked to crispy perfection, prawns with coconut flesh and cooked in a coconut shell (spicy), salty chicken rice, spicy beef stir fry, green chicken curry and large steamed rice.

We thoroughly enjoyed all of the mains, ate every bite and felt perfectly content at the end. The service was attentive and friendly and the ambience was busy and in amongst very lavish Thai style surroundings.

I would recommend checking out the wine list with a very good selection. Great for large groups of people.

Food was wonderful. Unfortunately we were only hungry enough to try 2 mains. We had the Nuea Ka-Tha (chili beef) and Pla Pow (grilled fish w/ lemongrass, galangal, kaffir and hot & sweet sauce). Beef was spicy and savoury. Fish was tender and moist, with the perfect Thai balance of flavours, and a nice portion size.

Unfortunately, we were lost in the crowd and our drinks didn't arrive until after our food. Even after asking 2 servers to check into it before our food came.

The ambiance is beautiful and luxurious. Looking forward to returning with a couple more people and an increased appetite. Would like to try many more of their dishes and/or perhaps their banquet meals for 4 or more.
