Really, Really good. I have become a regular because of the consistancy and taste of the food. We always start with the plain Italian bread, served with butter portions and olive oil and balsamic, bread is always fresh and just warm, perfect to get the tastebuds going.I have had the steak, served on a mushroom that, although was smaller than expected, tasted sensational. The steak was cooked perfectly too.
The duck is sensational, although really rich, so I would suggest that you don't have an entree otherwise you won't fully appreciate it.
The pastas and risottos are well put together, without too many overpowering ingredients, but enough to leave you satisfied.
Wine list is thorough, and matches food perfectly, and beer is on tap.
The door is almost always opened for you when you arive by a friendly face. The waiters are prompt, efficient and experienced. The food flies out of the Kitchen, I have never had the feeling "I wonder when my food is going to turn up?" Because the chefs are fast, and food is never left cold.
Low lighting, creating a romantic feeling at night, while bright and sunny during the day. Outdoor tables perfect for Saturday afternoon drinks. Music is soft. Not Noisey, even when it's full, thanks to the carpeted floor so conversation is easy.
Overall:
My favourite resturant in Canberra. Even though it's relatively new, it runs like a well oiled machine. The staff are friendly and remember if you have come before. Also they do takeaway for a reduced price, so if you just want a night infront of the telly, and don't feel like cooking it's perfect. A little hard to find at first, but definately worth it, so keep searching, don't give up!
