Welcome to Empire Cafe

This is a nice looking place off the Hay St mall. It was bustling, but still not too hard to find a nice quite spot down the back (it's quite a long cafe). The ambience is certainly there.

However the food was somewhat of a disappointment. My friend has the Caesar Salad, which they had made with Iceberg lettuce! I'd never seen this before, and it certainly looked a lot less classy than the traditional Cos lettuce. I had the lasagne, which consisted of some thin pasta sheets with a very watery tomato sauce (think tomato juice!) on top and a small bit of cheese! Hardly the saucy chunk of a meal you think of when you think: Lasagne!

So to sum up, it was a nice place to sit down in, and if I'd just had the coffee it probably would have been great. But don't expect much of the food!
