Overall:
Formosa/utopia is a very nice place to sit down and chat with friends and get some karaoke actions in the private room. I regularly go there to get my dosage of bubble tea.
Not until recently that we actually eat here. The menu here looks somewhat similar to your Asian cuisines but with tofu. I know this sounds bad but the foods are amazing.
If you're not accustomed to dining at Formosa then here are some tips. Once you there, grab the menu, an ordering sheet and a pen, then find yourself a nice table. Basically, this is a self-service kind of place. Once you're ready, take your order sheet to the counter and pay for it there.
Today I took my mum and sister's family out for dinner. Mum was really impressed with the presentation of the food. The atmosphere is somewhat interesting but nice with Chinese pop music in the background and dimmed lighting.
The food look great, smell great and surprisingly tastes great too. We ordered crispy chilli chicken, prawn with cashew nuts, tom yum soup and hokkien noodle. We all love the chicken and tom yum dish. I would never think that tofu could tastes so good.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. This was a memorable dinning experience and I’m sure we will talk about it for the next few weeks.
There were 5 of us including my niece; the total bill with drinks comes to $60.
