Food:

Had the Wagyu burger, while my partner had the chicken parmigiana. My Wagyu burger was so nice that i finished the whole thing (and it was Huge!). My partner had no complaints about the Parma and he also finished the whole thing. Large servings at reasonable prices.

Service:

Service was pretty good and was done with a smile.

Ambience:

We sat outside as it was a nice Thursday night. We have been here a few times and the decor is pretty standard upper class pub type decor.

Overall:
We have been many times for food and also just for drinks, and it is a pretty nice local pub. The best part about the place is that after having to handle the shopping centre, you can go there and just have a nice drink.

Going to the Foundry is always a satisfying experience.

No matter what time of the day it is, either breakfast, lunch, dinner, just a nice cold beer, the Foundry never disappoints.

I have lost count the number of times I have been so to describe each dish in detail would be impossible. The menu is quite extensive ranging from light entrees , to "the kiln" pizzas , to hearty mains and delicious desserts.

I last visited the Foundry for lunch with a friend and had the steak sandwich, which may sound average but it was just divine. The steak was thick and tender with caramelised onions, and the best bit , aioli dressing accompanied by a large side of chips. My friend ordered one of the gourmet pizzas and was very pleased with it. Being lunchtime we chose the lighter options on the menu however the Foundry offers an extensive selection including creamy risottos, pastas, steaks and seafood.

One of the other great things about this place is the service. The staff are friendly and experienced and offer prompt service every time. The Foundry is one of those places where you don’t usually need to book, it is always buzzing with people , yet there is always a table ready for you (however booking may be necessary on Saturdays!).

So to catch up with friends, or have a nice dinner out , I would definitely recommend the Foundry. Also having live music on weekends and some week nights is definitely a plus making it a fun and entertaining place to be.

Went here with a couple of friends recently for dinner after having been here many a time for a catch up drink or to see the bands. Being a Tuesday night and still relatively early due to wanting to get to a movie up the stairs a little later the restaurant part of the pub was not overly busy hence after arriving without a booking we were attended to fairly quickly. The waitress also took a drinks order from us which arrived on our table fairly promptly so we were able to have a drink and a chat while we checked out the menu. The food was generally standard pub fare with the standouts being the foundry plate which is one of the better tasting plates I have seen and the wood fired pizzas of which we ordered both. Being a fan of the shared items on menu the foundry has a good selection of pizzas we had the chicken delight and the El pacino between us and both arrived in good time and were both very tasty. With the choices that are available in this mall where the pub is situated the foundry does a great job at presenting the average punter with a value for money casual eating experience which we will be back to sample again one day .

After an afternoon of shopping, we settled for dinner at the Foundry before catching a movie at the nearby cinema. Given a choice of Fast Eddys, Hans Cafe and the Foundry, the decision was easily made as I haven't eaten at the Foundry before and previous experiences at the other two had many things left to be desired.

We were seated immediately by a waitress and drinks ordered and brought very quickly, although the waiter was a little cheeky and put a small lump of ice in my partner's drink because we'd asked for no ice. I like the pub feeling of this place and you tend to forget that you're in a shopping centre except for the sullen looking teenagers hanging around outside. I guess being able to see the rows of cars parked outside does dampen the feeling a bit though.

I ordered the T-bone with mash and my partner had the steak sandwich. Both came out in very little time and I was very glad to see that my steak cooked to a perfect medium. They did give me chips instead of the requested mash but this was immediately remedied. The T-bone looked a little lonely sitting on the bed of mash with only a small pile of wilted spinach and lemongrass on the top. This may have just been the huge plate it was on, although I would have liked to see some greenery on the side. My partner didn't like his steak sandwich much, the toasted roll was a bit tough on the teeth and there was too much mustard/mayonnaise dressing for his liking.

Cost was a bit pricier than I would normally pay for a steak, but not over the top. The range on the menu has a good mix of light and main meals and a good range in prices for most budgets and hunger levels.

Overall I was quite happy with my own meal, despite the price tag of $27.50 and the service was casual and very friendly. I would probably go back, as its very convenient being so close to the cinema.

On a recent Wednesday night at The Foundry we joined the 5 or so other tables outside and ordered some beers while we looked at the menu. The usual pub fare was there, but I guess the wood fired pizzas are the Foundry’s claim-to-fame. While we did notice other dishes coming out (a few steaks, fish and chips, pasta, etc) we decided to try the Flavour Me pizza. This promised bacon, chicken, feta, chilli and rosemary on a bbq base and we chose a Greek Salad on the side.
The service was prompt but very casual, as I guess many would expect in a pub situation? The staff trotted out my old favourite of “guys” many a time “Hi Guys”, “Any drinks Guys?”, “Thanks Guys”. This grates on me so much and said in a sing song voice just makes it that little bit more annoying, too casual for me. Anyway, back to the food. We didn’t have to wait long before it arrived and it looked pretty good. As promised, the pizza was full of flavour but there was no sign of any rosemary or the mushrooms we had asked for. I was very happy to see the feta was in fact Persian feta and the salad was full of big chunks, they didn’t scrimp on the olives either.
After a while the feta and mozzarella on the pizza combined with thick bbq sauce did get a bit cloying even with the chilli cutting through. The salad was nice enough and I guess the pizza was too. Nothing outstanding but at least we weren’t still hungry when we left. A long wait at the till and being charged for the mushrooms that we never received were minor hiccups on the way out. It was a nice mid-week break from cooking but I think we could do better next time.

It’s a bit hard to review a pub because the expectations are so casual...we ended up here after our intended restaurant was booked out. The portions here are huge. We had nachos to start, chicken parmesan and a BLT. The nachos were nothing special (meatless and I'm not a bean lover so can't really say I loved these, but they were okay). The mains were standard - my partner thought his parm was over-battered. The BLT was served on rich garlic bread: lots of bacon and avocado as well, which was a nice touch. The beer selection here is good. I left half my food because it was just too much to eat. The musician playing had a good voice, but his microphone needed to be turned down a notch (it’s not too pleasant to have to yell back and forth to your tablemates) and we hate cover bands so check out the bands on the line-up before you commit. But we didn't expect much because its a pub/music venue. Overall, come here if you want a beer, casual bite and/or live music. Or if you love massive American-sized portions of average quality food.
