We ordered pizzas for entrees which were very tasty. The base was probaly one of the best I've had and there was plenty of topping. The teriyaki chicken pizza had big pieces of chicken. However our mains didn't live up to expectation, my order of cannelloni was quite disappointing. Only 2 average sized cannelloni tubes stuffed with ricotta and spinach and smothered in napolitean sauce, I would have thought that the serve would have consisted of more than 2. Other orders consisted of Lamb shanks, spaghetti marinara and reef and beef which were good.
Drinks orders were taken quite quickly. Entrees were served quite fast, however our mains took quite a long time (>30mins) to come out after our entrees. The cafe wasn't packed but there was a decent crowd in the cafe.
Standard cafe decor, it can be a little bit noisy at times.
Overall:
Their menu isn't very extensive which sometimes can be a good thing but what they had on offer wouldn't tempt me to go back again.
The food was top notch. We had the usual entree, main, dessert and it was faultless
The waitress was fantastic. Bubbly personality who didn't intrude. It was a packed restaurant, with a few work do's going on, but the waitress was still attentive, addressing and anticipating any need we may have had
The ambience was lovely. I was in the mood for something a little more formal, quiet and romantic - which wasn't achieved on this particular night. There were just too many people. Great decor and background music, though.
Overall:
Great food, great people. but too packed for me
We had a three-course set menu at $44 a head for a party of 15 on 7 April 2009. The bruschetta and mussels for entree came out separately and in perfect proportions, both beautifully seasoned. We had five choices of mains: veal scallopini, linguini, risotto, coconut battered fish and warm chicken salad. The majority ordered the veal, to high praise without exception, and the coconut battered fish was simply brilliant -- light, non-greasy, flavoursome and served in a delectable sauce. The only downside of such a delicious meal and generous portions was that most of us were too full to really appreciate the beautiful gelato at the end (Baci, Casata, etc...mmm).
Service was faultless. There when needed, off in the background when not. Despite it being a strangely busy Tuesday evening, timing of each course was perfect. Servers smiled throughout the evening and happily cut and served the birthday cake we'd brought. Could not have asked for better sevice.
Lovely Italian/European decor. We were in the back section which was secluded from the street and front part of the restaurant. Music was a bit loud for those who wanted to talk at a long table, but the waitress turned it down the minute we asked.

At $44 a head for a customised set menu with delicious choices all around, we found this phenomenal value and would definitely return.
For something different, my friend and I ventured into this well known restaurant for breakfast. In all fairness, breakfast was nearly over for the morning, but they kindly accommodated us with the menu. This may explain why the pancakes with strawberries, banana and maple syrup was almost too cooked and my friends poached eggs on his big breakfast was way too cooked. However, it was a very satisfying meal and we both had difficulty getting through our dishes. I believe that is classed as a compliment in restaurant circles. To be picky, they could check that their dishes and cutlery are a little cleaner- kind of let them down a bit. Bruchetta seems to be a little over-the-top with tomato, but if you're into that...
Can't fault the service. Our waiter was new to the job but he was personable and helpful- really appreciated it! As an aside, the Maitre 'd was obviously injured and limping around the restaurant (not a good look- she should have gone home or not be out the front)
Very oxford street-esc, in that it is another in the line up of similarly set up restaurants on Oxford Street. But, it is a nice quiet place for business or personal conversation- or just to sit and watch the world go by.
Overall:
Nice little, non-committal place to stop in for breakfast and the variety of meals to choose from should keep the most fussiest of eaters happy.
I've been to Giardini a few times and have always been satisfied with the food. It's not exceptional, but it still tastes great and is good value.
Always been really happy with the service. The waitstaff are attentive and friendly.
It just has a generally happy feel. It's fairly casual, while still classy.
We shared the asian crepe and garlic bread for entree. They came out about 2 minutes after ordering and I would consider both to be inedible, the crepe was obviously pre-made and stuffed with whole spinach leaves. I held hope for the mains with all the previous good reviews. I had the cannelloni, which had nice sauce but that is about it. The boy had the lamb cutlets which he advised were very nice.
We had 2 waiters, one was quite possibly new as she was a little shy but she had a great genuine smile, the other obviously more professional but a smile was too much to manage.
We were placed next to a wall that had really bad water damage and mould growing all over it, which was rather off putting. The interior was very 1990's style.
Overall:
There are so many better quality restaurants around. I left with a bad taste in my mouth, we won't be returning.
Started with turkish bread for starters, very nice dips, I had the veal scallopini as a main, it was superb, melted in my mouth! My friend had the lamb shanks, my friend was very happy with it the lamb fell off the bone, she said it was beautiful.
Fast and friendly service, very cheerful not rude.
great
Overall:
will definitely be going there again!
Very good tucker.
Very efficient and quick
Can be a bit loud sometimes, but always packed.
Overall:
Excellent place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Give it a go, won't be sorry.

Over the past 8 years I have used Giardini's for both business and social functions and to date I have never been disappointed with the food and atmosphere.
The consistency of excellent service and good quality food makes the restaurant a popular choice. The menu is seasonal which offers an excellent variety that gives the restaurant that little bit extra. The venue it is ideal for business meetings as it has a relaxed cafe style ambience that is ideal for either an informal meeting or for that more formal lunch or dinner appointment.
I have tried numerous restaurants in Perth for lunch and dinner appointments. The consistency of quality and service at Giardinis is outstanding and I recommend it as a perfect choice for any business or personal function.

Decided on Monday to drop in for lunch as I haven't visited for a while. I was a bit taken aback at the prices, they have gone up since I was last there. We decided to try the starter platter ($27) shared between the two of us. It arrived promptly and was more than adequate to feed the two us. All the parts were tasty and nicely presented. I could not have eaten this on my own. Pleasurable dining experience and we will be back.

Popped in for a impromptu lunch last week with a girlfriend for a catch-up. I haven't been to Giardini's in a while and she'd been away from Perth for the past few years so we didn't really have any grandiose expectations. It was a Friday lunch so the place was pumping but we were greeted and seated promptly at a nice table out the back in their 'garden' area with no hassles whatsoever.
Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and highly efficient - staff worked with a purpose rather than wandering around aimlessly. The meals were well presented and flavoured, and a good size - was told by our waitress that the entree calamari was a small serving - she lied! haha! It was a lot more than I expected anyway! Very tender and a real treat. My girlfriend ordered the chicken caesar which was laden with tender chicken strips (and which was deemed 'delicious') and she could barely finish that! Service throughout the meal was unobtrusive, yet always there when we needed anything - did not die off as we finished our meals.
Overall, quite impressed with this stalwart of the Leederville cafe strip! Well worth a visit if you haven't been in a while.
Overall:
As a business person I have used Giardinis consistently over the last 7 years.
In that time I have frequented on average 3 times per week for either breakfast or lunch.
My continued use was mainly due to the consistency of good quality food and excellent service. As a breakfast or lunch time venue it is ideal for business meetings as it has a relaxed cafe style ambience that is ideal for either a short informal cup of coffee or for a more formal lunch appointment.
The menu is seasonal which offers an excellent variety for even the most discerning of tastes. This is important when your client database is quite varied or when it is necessary to entertain overseas visitors.
Overall I have tried numerous restaurants in Perth for lunch appointments and have had various levels of success but the consistency of quality and service I have enjoyed at Giardinis is essential as it can successfully contribute to the outcome of a business lunch.
Overall:
we had dinner here last night, cant complain on the food as it was just gorgeous, i had the garlic prawn linguine and my hubby had the lasagne which was HUGE - only disappointment was the set up of the restaurant, i personally feel it is too cramped with too many tables, wouldnt recommend for a romantic night, is more of a place for a dinner with mates as its a very casual dining restaurant, would definitely return though. the waiters/waitresses were really friendly and made us feel welcome.
Overall:
I just went to this restaurant as part of a party of 25 people for a birthday celebration. We were out in the back cover garden area which was nice.
Normally groups that large you don’t expect good service at most restaurants. However we had the best service of a large group I think I have ever witnessed. There were about 4 waitresses constantly coming back and forth to our two long tables - taking drinks orders, delivering appetizers, clearing plates, and glasses, delivering drinks and our meals. I was extremely impressed at how effortless they all made it look. Well done!
The food was also superb! I had the Fish of the Day (Swordfish) with garlic mashed potatoes which was to die for and my partners pan fried calamari was also excellent and fresh (not frozen. the Turkish bread appetizer and tasting plate was also very good and excellent value for money.
Overall:
My girl and I we went to Giardini’s for a Wednesday night dinner, as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and table at the front of the restaurant overview Oxford St (tip: Wednesday night has a lot of eye candy walking around).
The restaurant décor is kind of Italian inspired I guess you would say, comfortable and the restaurant can accommodate large numbers because of its size.
For entrée we shared the Salsice & Feta - $14.60 (Italian sausage sliced and pan fried with feta cheese) and for mains we had the Warm Chicken Salad $24.70 (spicy chicken pieces marinated and pan-fried, tossed with eggplants, greens and drizzled with chef's sweet chilli dressing), this salad presentation was superb, with the entrée I couldn’t finish it so that's saying something as I’m a big eater.
Very friendly and snappy service, topping up your wine and we didn’t have to wait very long at all to get our meals, though it was a quite night. Recommended.

I went to Giardini's for the first time last night and was very impressed. We hadn't intended to eat there but having seen the pasta's and pizza's emerging from the kitchen my friend and I decided that we wanted to stay for dinner. It was a good decision.
I ordered pizza, which I probably wouldn't have again, as the base was pre-cooked and a bit bread like. However, the toppings were excellent, both in quality and amount. My companion ordered a vegetarian pasta dish, and this was, quite simply superb. Quality fresh pasta with a well balanced and delicious sauce. I am certainly going back to try some of the other pasta's as a few of them sounded wonderful.
In terms of atmosphere there's a lovely "outside" area at the back, which is probably more relaxed than in the main part of the restaurant, even if the service might be a bit slower out there.
Wine was relatively expensive by the glass but much better value by the bottle and the choice was reasonable. Coffee's were nice too.
