Took my brother here on recommendation from friends, between four of us we had two fish dishes, the veal and mussels. Everyone very happy with food. Feta and olives were lovely as was garlic bread. Would like to try tapas as chef is Portuguese. Portions are reasonable, not large but allow you to enjoy three courses. Kids menu is a plus with loads of choice. Well thought out.

Service:

Friendly wait staff. Was not to busy on a Thursday night and they were suitably attentive and asked if we had enjoyed our meal and sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy!

Ambience:

Range of areas for dining from indoor, patio, courtyard and out front. Each a cosy area and family friendly too. Patio area with bench seating was were we sat and we were comfortable. Conversational level of music varied from bit of groovy Frank Sinatra to very modern later on.

Overall:
Extremely happy with Greco's. Hope to get back to try more of the yummy menu soon.

Well, we went back to give Grecos a second chance, and unfortunately were even more disappointed this time. Especially so that Grecos is close by for us and I really really like the ambience of the place and I expected it to become a favourite. We went to try out the mid-week special. The soup of the day (mushroom soup) was really lovely. The included Portuguese wine was also nice. The mains were advertised as "Portuguese Chicken with Potato Bake and Salad". It was a stack made from strands of a BBQ chicken, frozen shoe string fries, and what I believe was a bottle sauce. It was the sort of meal you would slap together on a Sunday night with the remnants of a bbq chicken, with the addition of frozen chips!

The service was very good and the staff friendly.

I really like the ambience of this place. Beautiful setting, fireplace, heaters, nice lighting.

Overall:
When asked by the waiter, we told him we were very disappointed in the meal. He told us he had made it himself. We asked him what was Portuguese about it and he said it was the "way it was made". He then said they use frozen chips etc as a way of keeping costs down. In our opinion this meal was not nearly worthy of being served in a restaurant, and we both agree Gordon Ramsay would have had a field day with it! Some of the other food on visit one was good, but 2 bad mains on two visits.

Nearly all of the food we ordered was great. For entree we shared the oysters kilpatrick, which were delicious. My partner had the steak, which he was really happy with. A very generous serve of meat. I had the pork ribs, which unfortunately were really disappointing. They were really chewy and had very little flavour. The potatoes, sausage etc that they came with was delicious. I would definitely not judge this restaurant by the ribs, as everything else we had was really lovely. The menu looks great and I'm looking forward to giving it a second go.

The service was great. The staff were very friendly, and we even commented at the time what a difference it makes having such courteous staff.

I love the ambience of this place, its very cute. We sat outside by the heater and were really comfortable. The only thing we thought would make it perfect would be some music.

Overall:
Overall I really enjoyed dining here, and will definately be going back soon - just wont get the ribs this time.

Absolutely the most delicious chicken dish I've ever had. The Portuguese chicken was the highlight for me and I'll be going back again to try it!

For mains I had the fillet steak - and it was cooked to perfection.

The service was prompt and very efficient and friendly. This made us feel at ease and we easily relaxed into our evening with our friends. I appreciated their knowledge of wine to help us select the best red with our steaks. I loved the port with dessert too!

This is a really nice restaurant to go to for a relaxing night out. The lighting is soft and it has an intimate feel.

Overall:
I would recommend this to couples or small groups of people. We were booked in for 7pm and were there passed 10! We had a really great night out. Greco's is a real gem in the suburbs and we'll be back there again soon.

The selection of tapas, fremantle sardines, pickled octopus and Portuguese chorizo sausage (which is was not over cooked) are excellent appatisers which complement the Portuguese styled menu.

Mains were generously proportioned leaving me well satisfied.

The Portuguese marinara used very fresh and sweet seafood. The kitchen happily up'ed the chilli power on request. The risotto was perfectly cooked and given just enough flavor easily become a favorite.
The reef & beef (ordered med rare and served spot on) - no faults, good pick +

The rack of lamb smells of provincial pesent food and tasted fantastic! meat was very tender

Service was quick and informative. Even during peak period on a saturday night - as group of 4 walkins

Situated in the heart of Nedlands near the old Steve's pub Grecos on Broadway provides a refreshingly friendly and enjoyable night's dining and lunch experience (have been there for a friday luncheon/meeting). Nedlands history as a wealthy district has created a selection of up market restaurants but in my opinion up market usually means stuck up and hugely over priced! Greco's carries an air of family warmth to its service and cooking.

This restaurant gives a fantastic first impression. We came here for a Friday night dinner with a group of friends. The place is cosy with an open kitchen and chalkboard dessert menus and live music too. It definitely stands out amongst other places offering Mediterranean fare in Perth.

However, I feel the ambience of the restaurant is let down by the mediocre food and service.

The food is okay. I had the pasta special of the day - ravioli of scallop and prawn served with EVOO sauce, mussels and prawns. My partner had the spare ribs with roast potatoes, chorizo etc. But he asked for only his roast potatoes to be replaced by fries - instead, the kitchen replaced all of his sides with fries! So basically he had ribs and fries.

My pasta was peculiarly star shaped and was undercooked. To their credit, the prawns were exceptionally fresh. My partner's ribs were barely ok - reminiscent of chinese peking spare ribs. Hardly special.

Service was average. They took a long time to take our orders and the group must have waited about an hour to have our orders taken. The waitress later came back lamenting our orders would take some time to cook and suggested we order some garlic bread. In fact, the garlic bread was pretty good. Or maybe I was hungry.

I am slightly tempted to give Greco's another go because their menu is quite interesting but I do believe there are better places to consume portuguese/spanish food in Perth.

We had not been to Greco's before so did not know what to expect. What we enjoyed was an excellent night out! This restaurant is cosy and has a brilliant ambiance with soft lighting perfect for dinner with a few friends. The chicken entree was the most delicious chicken dish I'd ever enjoyed and the sirloin was a juicy thick cut cooked to perfection. Their home made chocolate mousse melted in the mouth and staff were amazingly attentive and courteous. We will definitely be going back!

Disappointing experience this time! Service was tardy and food was fairly average. They brought out different entree sausage to what was ordered and our mains were dreadfully late! We received them at 9pm (average rack of lamb and average parmigiana) and had to be at a show at UWA by 9.30pm.

We had our xmas work lunch here and enjoyed it immensely.

The entrees for the tables were tapas plates filled with dips (i particularly liked the sweet potato dip), kalamata olives, fetta, chorizo/lemon, risotto balls (bland)and crumbed sardines. Very enjoyable start to the meal.

There were four choices of mains - i chose the grilled salmon on mash (chermoula dressing) which came with salsa and a rocket/pinenut garnish. It was delicious (although some might find the salmon too rare for their liking) I also tasted the tagliatelle with chicken, bacon, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes etc in a cream sauce and this too was delicious.

For dessert i had the vanilla white choc pannacotta with berries.. this melted in my mouth! Others that chose the plum pudding found it fairly average as far as i can tell.

All in all the food was excellent and a very good price (was around $60) per head and that included 3 hours of beverages including 5 beer choices, sparkling white, white, red and juices and soft drinks (all in individual bottles - no postmix to be found!). The staff were also fantastic - especially our main waiter. The only negative of the day would have to be the weather. We were in the courtyard which was very warm (the one fan didnt quit cut it)

i think the owners are Portuguese and some of the menu choices reflect this - ie Lisbon style steak, cintra pilsener beer available.

I shall return here soon for lunch :-)

I hadn't been to Greco's for well over a couple of years. In my mind it's still a student cafe. However, we were recently pleasantly surprised.

The menu is varied and well-priced. There is an impressive beer selection, but it is also BYO.

There was an impressive range of specials, including fried trevella wing and Portuegese peri-peri style chicken.

We started off with the tapas selection, which included creamy fetta cheese, distinctive marinated mushrooms, beautiful marinated Freo octopus and succulent panfried Fremantle sardine as well as olives, bread and hommus.

For mains, we ordered the fish wing, ravioli, the chicken and chilli prawns in chardonnay sauce with lemongrass risotto.

The service was immaculate - far better than I have received in more upmarket cafes, and our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful and good humoured.

Recommended for more casual eating!
