Indiana Cottesloe Beach
Indiana is one of Western Australia's premier coastal dining experiences. Open everyday for lunch and dinner, with à la carte breakfast on weekends, Indiana is perfect for intimate celebrations, family get-togethers, or corporate functions – the only limit is your imagination.
It is located directly on Cottesloe Beach and seems to rise effortlessly from the snow-white beach sand. All tables command views of the Indian Ocean and the magnificent sunsets beyond Rottnest Island.
The a la carte menu offers a selection of Australia's finest seafood, meat and poultry. Indiana’s extensive wine list samples from some of the best vineyards of Western Australia and beyond.
Named after the original 'Indiana Tea House' built in 1910, the architect has created an amazing building, with a “British Raj” feel, that offers uninterrupted views of the gin-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, from every window. The use of recycled timber, gives one a bright, exotic feeling of old-worlde warmth, complimented with large cane chairs and an abundance of antiques and wall hangings. The spring 2008 refurbishments, including new decor, fittings and a splendid private dining area, will further cement Indiana as one of Perth’s most sought-after venues.
Indiana's is also available for corporate functions, weddings and social gatherings. Depending on the size and style of the event, we can offer a package that will suit your needs and make a lasting impression. We can cater for up to 300 guests and provide either exclusive or non-exclusive use of the restaurant.
Indiana's will undergo refurbishments during spring of 2008, re-launching in summer with new décor, fixtures and fittings, and an exclusive Private Dining Area. It's hard to improve upon this elegant building but come summer 2008, it will be a sight to behold and will further cement this epic venue as the place to visit on our stunning West Australian coastline.

- We actually visited here twice in a fortnight. Once with an overseas friend (from Bali) and the other time with another couple. Food we had consisted of fish & chips, BBQ pizza, pumpkin, ricotta and walnut triangoli, gnocchi with prawns, mussels, calamari and Wagyu steak burger.

- The first time, the service was terrible which was a real shame as we had our Balinese friend with us. It wasnt busy either! However he adored the view so that made up for it. The second time, the service was better which boded well for the other couple as they are the type to walk if not happy.

- Both times we got the view right over the beachfront. We love the view and never tire of gazing out across the water, sunny or wet! Ambience was better the second time as the restaurant was full.

- Having been advised against going here as it had somewhat gone down hill, we were pleased that this was not the case...well certainly wasnt the case when it came to the food. The waitstaff all appear to be foreign - maybe backpackers?? so maybe a little refining could occur in the hiring of staff. Was a little shocked at the beverage prices.

- Went for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were over-cooked. Toast was rock hard and cold. A friend had three coffees over breakfast. Only one of the three was hot and this was only because he comlained about the other 2.

- We arrived at 9:05 and by the time we were seated and got to order our meals it was 10:00. The food didn't arrive until 10:15. We had 5 children with us and were seated at a very cramped table despite the restaurant being 30% full.

- If this restaurant can't get a basic breakfast right ...what would going there for dinner be like? The service and food was very disappointing. We wont be going back and definitely wont be recommending the place to friends. Its a shame as it WAS a star in W.A. cafe/restaurant scene many moons ago.

Day: Saturday @ 6.30pm
Food: Excellent. Shaved Octopus for entree, Rib-eye for main and the panacotta for desert.
Ambience: OK except being rushed
Service: Friendly but intrusive.
Value for money: Poor. Over-priced and also charged a 10% surcharge for the Saturday night.
We had a booking for 2 for Saturday night at 6.30pm. I ate here a few years back when it was an Indian restaurant and thought we would give it another go.
This night they had a booking for a wedding reception and the moment we had sat down we were pressured to order as soon as possible. Otherwise we would not get our food until all the wedding party had been served.
This normally would not bother me, but when we are paying $40 plus for a main course it would have been nice to not be pressured and enjoy the occasion. In all we had been seated, ordered and served 3 courses and out the door in exactly 1 hour.
The waiter was friendly and quite pleasant, but was bordering on being intrusive. Walking past every couple of minutes and asking how things were going. We felt like they just wanted us out the door so they could attend to the wedding party.
All up this was a $200 dinner for 2, and we didn't even order wine! Too over-priced and the 10% surcharge for Saturday night is just another excuse to charge even bit more. If we were able to take ou time and enjoy the evening, I would have almost been happy with the price as the food was excellent.
Compliments to the Chef.
