Overall:
We came here for a girly lunch during Spring in the Valley. Good thing we booked. We tasted the wines first (great service from the one man behind the tasting counter) and decided on a bottle of sparkling before relaxing at our table in its prime position on the deck. The four of us shared two platters. They didn't look like much when they came out, but they were very filling and absolutely delicious. Two of us couldn't go past the dessert special of strawberry pavlova with a glass of the Budburst dessert wine for $12. The combination of the two was divine although I was uncomfortably full afterwards!
We found the service to be perfect: prompt, helpful and unobtrusive. The ambience of the place was what every place in the Swan Valley should be. Tables on the deck in lazy sunlight - I was so relaxed I almost felt like I was at home on my deck.
We'll definitely be returning here - great value for money too.
Overall:
We are regulars here and for good reason. A bottle of Plaine Jane Chardonnay, a Vineyard Platter (and a cob of the marvellous fig and fennel loaf) and you have a feast for all the senses. The setting is casual and relaxing, the staff are friendly (but sometimes thin on the ground in the busy periods) and overall, it is highly recommended.
Overall:
Probably the best value for money in the Swan. Food choices are limited to platter-style lunches, with an array of side dishes, breads, cheeses and condiments to customise your (two person) platter. The products are fresh, light and tasty and the service is friendly and unpretentious. A good way to spend the afternoon, particularly if the weather allows you to occupy a table on the decking overlooking the (Jane) brook.
