Overall:
Jarrah Jacks Brewery also includes Woodsmoke Winery, so there is something here for both beer or wine drinkers. We enjoyed their oaked semillon with lunch, after tasting 5 of their wines - they have a sample tray for $10 for which you get samples of 5 wines or 6 beers.

We sat outside on a grassed area overlooking the (very steep) vineyard - I would hate to be driving the tractor up some of those rows! There is also an indoor dining area or verandah options.

The menu contains some interesting options - Sue opted for a vegetarian curry, while I went for a crumbed chicken dish which included limes and an avocado salad. Both dishes included a mound (or mould? as it appeared to have come out of one) or rice, which was a useful accompaniment. Sue couldn't finish her curry, but I made sure of the chicken and salad. The avocado formed part of a creamy dressing for the salad greens, rather than being presented in chinks, while the fresh limes squeezed over the chicken pieces made for a lip-smacking dish.

Especially if you enjoy a beer, this is a good place to go in Pemberton. We weren't all that impressed with the wines, but the food and the views made up for that. Service was competent, without being superb. A good casual lunching place.

Overall:
This place is pretty damn good and very needed in Pemberton as I think it’s actually the only brewery there (and it's set on a vineyard - Woodsmoke Wines).

We stopped in here to try the beers (my partner was a fan of the dark ale) but it was too late for food (after 3pm) so I had to come back as I had spied the tapas menu :-)

We came back and tried: Marinated olives & Nannup sheep’s milk fetta cheese, the Provincial duck sausage with French mustard and the Pemberton trout dip with crusty bread.

The olives/fetta combo was good (maybe a bit too much oil), the duck sausage was absolutely delicious as was the mustard it came with; we were drooling. Come to think of it the bread that came with the sausage and also the trout dip was brilliant too - oh so crusty yet oh so soft! I had never tried trout before and I absolutely loved this dip.

The service was very good, nothing was too much trouble and the view down the hill is lovely. I will definitely go back next time we are in Pemberton and have a proper lunch.

The only area that I found a let down was the Woodsmoke wines. I didn’t find them to my taste.

Wine tasting was free - beer tasting costs $10 for a rack of six beers.
