Overall:
We went to Jewel on a busy Friday night in a group of four. I would usually always go to my favorite Indian restaurant, but since I read so many good reviews about Jewel we decided to give it a try.
We ordered the Cheese Naan and ohhh this was sooo cheesely good, and then we had a garlic naan which was good but no buttery or very garlicky at all.
As mains we had butter chicken, which was absolutely delicious, and the chicken Korma which was also very good, though the only down point was that they used breast instead of thigh and we thought it was definitely too dry, the sauce would not really enter in the meat properly.
As vegetable dishes we had a Palak Paneer, which we didn’t really like mainly because the cheese was hard and tofu-like (we don’t like tofu) rather than cheesy. As second vegetable dish we had a vegetable korma, which was pretty good mainly just like the chicken korma, but with vegetables. We ordered bryani rice as accompaniment and I must say I was very disappointed by this rice, it was nothing like the one in my fav restaurant, it was very dry and with not many spices, we were better off to a simple white basmati.
We also shared a mix vegetables entrée which consisted of delicious Onion Bahji, vegetable samosa, good but the dough wasn’t cooked properly and vegetable pakoras.
Finally as drinks we has a mango and banana lassi, they were truly great, particularly the banana lassi, which I had never tried before, they also have a strawberry lassi which I’ll certainly try next time.
Overall the food was great the service wasn’t too bad, even if they ignored us for more than 30 minutes, the food arrived very quickly and everything was very cheap. We paid 54$ which is pretty a good price compared to other Indian restaurants!
We will certainly go back to dry more of their delicious dishes.
