Lots of different ideas. Not sure if I like the set menu, prefer my own choices. Food was well presented and good quality and very interesting

Service:

We didn't have a booking, well that seemed to be the biggest inconvenience, we were giving a table practically out on the street, and the restaurant never was more than half full - two drunks that wandered over from the tavern, who didn't have a booking got a better spot.

Ambience:

Inside might have had some.

Overall:
Wont go back - the food was good back we were treated like hillbillies. We at no stage were we rude or loud, and we were dressed well, but from the moment we go there the man in charge looked down his nose at us, too pretentious for me.

I was pleasantly surprised - we had the 16 course $60 tasting menu, absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. Stand outs were the crispy skinned barramundi on parsnip puree and the shredded duck confit salad. The lamb chop on sweet potato mash looked perfectly cooked and succulent but I couldn't fit it in. There was no way I could finish it all, even the rugby player at our table struggled! I ordered the cheese for dessert which was beautiful, but the 3 dessert taster looked amazing (I had some of the panecotta... wow). The wine list is pricey, we went a little crazy with it though and the bill for three of us came to $450... but I'd go again and only get one bottle, the food I think is excellent value.

Service:

Relaxed, the guy that served us was probably the most chilled out guy I've ever seen. I think he might have been enjoying some of the great wines on offer... We liked this, it was pretty funny, but I think maybe some of the older patrons were a bit put off by his attitude. Good wine recommendations.

Nice little restaurant, beautiful fire place (though the people at the table right next to it said they were way too hot!). Our table was really wobbly on its stand, but there was nothing they could do to fix it. Hopefully it was done the next day.

Overall:
Would definitely go again, I'd probably do the $40, 11 course tasting though and not have wine (or maybe just one bottle...). The only thing with the $40 menu is that you miss out on dessert. But that doesn't really matter if you can't fit it in anyway!

I went to Just for Breakfast expecting an "up market" style Breakfast, what I actually received was a misleading menu which states "FRESHLY SQUEEZED" Orange Juice for $6 a glass - what I actually received was a concentrate mix with water - Beware!
The Big Breakfast says "smoked bacon", when it is actually Honey Glazed & very sweet, the servings are not overly generous though.

The Coffee is watery and served in a very small cup.

The menu needs to clearly state what you will be receiving instead of trying to appear as if it is offering a "Beautiful Person" Breakfast.

Tip - most people who order Bacon, like the taste of Bacon - dont completely cover it!

Service:

Service was OK, even though the Waitress seemed a little "put out" when asked if we could have the Ciabatta on a side plate instead of with the meal

Ambience:

Ambience was nice, a warm fire and "Sunday Morning" Tunes. The decor is nice and the location in Como good

Overall:
Overall, maybe Just is a Tapas Bar that tries to do Breakfast. Go for Dinner NOT Breakfast next time!

Spectacular. Just espresso is a tapas bar and we were presented with the option of having an 11 course or 16 course set menu. We chose the 16 course (@ $60ph). What a delight. Seafood chowder to start with a swordfish chunk, moving on to delightful Turkish bread, olives, cold meats, hot meats (and the most to die for mussel sauce ever). Dessert was amazing - a rice pudding, apple strudel and a Tiramisu. Sensational.

Service:

Excellent service. Food was served quickly and without fuss. The waiter and waitress were friendly, approachable and were happy to chat about the extensive wine list and knew their stuff.

Ambience:

We went on a Monday night, which was quiet (only a couple of other people), but we didn't care. We certainly didn't feel alone, or that we were pushed to get out as it was home time. Log fire, comfy chairs - everything just works.

Overall:
Like previous reviewers have suggested, this is definitely a special occasion place (for dinner). The price lets it down, however, the service, food and ambiance make the cost not an issue. We will be back.

I love this place and we have been here a few times over the last year and a half. The tapas are amazing and being a Saturday night we didn't have to worry about choosing except to decide if we wanted the long or short menu (a bonus considering it could take a while to choose between all the delicious sounding tapas). We were dining with two friends and decided to go all out and have the long menu which includes dessert. There were many delectable little morsels but my favourites by far were the scallop on pork belly, the seafood chowder in a shot glass and the cherry icecream among others. We also enjoyed some lovely wine and beer with some assistance from the wait staff in the choosing. We were there for 3 hours but it felt like one.

Service:

The service was excellent and while constantly being present we never felt suffocated nor rushed out the door and never had to call for service. One downside was when clearing a plate one staff member in his haste split some of the sauce which just missed my partners arm and he didn't even notice.

Ambience:

They have changed the place around a bit since I was last there but from our point of view it was for the better. We were seated in the al fresco area and it was spacious and we were able to enjoy conversation without having to shout too much. The place was full so that made it feel cosy too.

Overall:
I would definitely recommend Just to anyone looking to enjoy great tapas, great drinks and great service in a cosy little restaurant. Other tapas places we have been to have been disappointing in both atmosphere and food and that goes for some other restaurants as well. The only thing that lets Just down is the prices - yes it is some very good quality produce/drinks and great food but it is still a bit hard on the hip pocket. We will be back though to punish the wallet again no doubt.

We were really looking forward to our evening at 'Just' but things took a bad turn before we even got there. We were running about five to ten minutes late and, out of courtesy, rang to inform them but were met with rudeness. As if this was not enough to deter us from eating there, when we arrived we were shown to a badly positioned table that put us in everyone's way and made for an uncomfortable night.

The food was not the best we had, despite the rave reviews online and in the STM recently. To start us off, they brought us a little shooter of gazpacho which was divine! One of the tapas was tuna that tasted like charcoal. The pork dish was dry and flavourless. The lentils and rocket salad were probably my favourite but hardly worth going out to a restaurant for. I think the consensus amongst us was that the carpaccio was probably the best dish. We were very disappointed that after catering for our friend's gluten-intolerance dietary needs the last time she was there, they did nothing for her this time even though she had given them several days' notice. They still charged her the full price when she was not able to eat three of the eleven courses and parts of others.

In saying all that, the presentation of the dishes was aesthetically pleasing. It would be a great place to go for an informal meal and the idea of being surprised with the chef's creations is fantastic. The wait staff were also extremely friendly and polite to us, but we found the owner rather aloof.

This was my first time trying a tapas bar, so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated at the best table in the house, right in front of the fire and given that it was a cold night, we couldn't have been happier. The restaurant is small and dimly lit, with candles on relatively high tables with very comfortable bar stools. Overall, a very cosy and relaxing atmosphere. So a good start to the evening already.

Our waitress came over a few minutes later and ran through the menu with us, including the size of the servings and the number of dishes we should consider sharing. My husband and I opted to share 8 tapas between the two of us, while our two friends went with 5 each. They do have a range of set menus as well, which the owner of the restaurant tried to convince us to have (a little pushy) but we opted to select from the a la carte menu instead. The price of each dish ranges from $6.50-$12.0each approx.

Our drinks order was taken promptly and our food order not too long after that. Just has a very good wine list with some rarer and more expensive drops, which our friends seemed to appreciate.

The food began to arrive about 10minutes later, and we were pleasantly surprised. Some of the dishes we ordered included risotto style rice balls, fried cauliflower with a very nice aioli, three cheese tart, black lentil curry, and assorted breads to share. All of the food was very good quality and left us wanting more...I guess that's the idea with tapas.

None of us were really all that full, so we then moved on to desert and we were all so glad that we did! We ordered two desert platters to share, which consisted of the most heavenly honeycomb and caramel ice cream, served with vanilla fairy floss and a slice of caramel cake. Very indulgent...and I later ordered some more of the ice cream on it's own...that's how good it was.

The damage came to $230 for the four of us, including wine, desert and coffee (so a little on the pricey side) but we were happy to pay it...we had all enjoyed the Just experience and will be returning soon, either for dinner or to try the tempting breakfast menu.
