There is a set menu $56 for two course and $66 for three. Whilst not 5 star dining it offers very good value for money. The blue swimmer crab and corn entree is basic and probably microwaved. The stiffed mushroom entree are deep fried and filled with cream cheese - nothing special. Thne rack of lamb is wonderful with a rich sweet fig jus is also very good. The deserts are average and the apple with rhubarb pie is nothing to write home about. The orange flavoured crepes are a VERY orange (essence) flavoured and a little flat (would certainly benefit from a splash of orange liquouir even if it meant upping the price tag) - good value for sure but average food although presentation was excellent
very good
exceptionally good - an old house converted - but don't accept a table near to the wood heather or you will fry!
Overall:
good value for what is provided but not 5 star dining
The food is exceptional! For starters, I had the calamari. Beautifully done. Nice and tender and the perfect amount of batter. The tartare sauce however tasted like what you buy in the shops. My wife had the Thai fish pattie with a mango and avocado salad. The salad was fantastic, but the fish cake was ok. I had venison medallions for mains, which were wonderful. Wish I had been given a steak knife though. My wife had the salmon, which was exquisite. Very juicy and full of flavour. Overall, the chef is fantastic and knows what his customers want!
Rubbish. Twice the waitress tried to serve us drinks we hadn't ordered. The main waitress kept forgetting the table numbers, standing next to us counting! The guy who served the wine didn't offer us a taste before pouring and didn't take our other glasses away! Very disappointing.
The restaurant does have a very romantic and cosy feel to it. Could probably do with a paint job though. And they have definitely crammed too many tables in there. I almost knocked the girl behind me in the head when trying to get up from the table. The chairs are too low and tables too high!
Overall:
The food saved this restaurant. We may be back, but only for the food. Congratulations to the chef, but there is loads of room for improvement from the rest of the staff. Just a suggestion, you should get little numbers and put them on each of the tables. Might look tacky, but you don't want a waitress standing next to you counting every five minutes. Again, congratulations to the chef only.
Exceptional. The calamari served as an entree can only be described as "melt in the mouth" quality. Main courses of rack of lamb and venison were perfect and the whole experience was good. Cannot fault the food here
very good - discreet without being too over bearing and obviously professional staff who know how to wait on a table. Bunbury restaurants are notorious for using untrained casuals but that is not the case here.
First class - nice low lighting and a quiet restful ambience
Overall:
Great for a special occasion. This restaurant is by no means "cheap" - however you only get what you pay for and on that scale its good value as what you get IS exceptional. The chef is very good and will enter the dining area to meet customers after service explaining where he souces produce and how only fresh ingredients bought that morning are used. This is obvious in the final dishes each evening.
Overall:
The first step in the door was enjoyable as we were greeted with a smile and willingness to help and to attend to our needs. The staff were professional and quick attending to our needs as soon as possible.
The food was fantastic, taste was full of flavour but not overpowering, was presented well on the plate and it was a decent serve, not too big and not too small.
The feel of the place was so welcoming we actually stayed for coffee and cake which we don't usually do as we have a baby sitter are home waiting for us.
Overall the night was very enjoyable and we now go back everytime we go out.
