Second trip today for lunch...last time we had a really nice and varied menu ( see review May 08) but in all honesty this visit proved disappointing . This time the menu consisted mainly of few simple items including a choice of salad (smoked salmon or smoked chicken ) and 1 choice of pie in the cabinet, several quiches...nothing like the last time..The smoked chicken consisted of just lettuce, chicken, and 1 egg on top...tasty but disappointing for the price, the small serving of pasta was boring to say the least and the smoked salmon bagette was just like going to a deli but without the lashings of salad in the roll.

Booked for 1pm - shown to our table without any menus and sat there for a considerable amount of time . After waiting at the counter for service I was told that someone would be over shortly with the menus...10 min later we got them...50min later our order was taken...not good enough .

This delay in service obviously was frustrating for us. We were later told that they were down several staff members and it was obvious that they couldn't cope but the patrons ordering coffee and cakes seemed to be given priority and we felt ignored.

Looking at the other reviews this seems to be a common complaint of late . They have tried simplifying their menu to a few basic items but I think its still not working...The cakes are still delicious and the live musician great but its a long drive and I'm not hurrying back.

Been here for breakfast with my family many times. I usually always order the bacon & egg baguette. It is always huge & stuffed with lots of crispy bacon and a side salad which is always nicely presented. Usually someone has to finish it off for me & I am a big eater. I order the french style coffee, which comes served in a soup bowl and is perfect to sip over a long relaxed breakfast. I love it here, it is so cosie & relaxed. They usually have someone playing music and singing on weekends which is nice. Also you must try the cakes, they are so delicately presented & are to die for! This is my favourite breakfast / coffee spot. Also this is in the entertainment book under fine dining, however Im not sure why it is more cafe style.

A very limited dinner menu consisting of three main courses: Seafood, Pork, Pasta. One third of our party couldn't eat seafood or pork and had to settle for a vegetarian ravioli which was very ordinary. The desserts, limited to two choices, were satisfactory.

Inordinate lengths of time between (only 2) courses. Finger bowls arived about 15 minutes after everyone had finished eating their seafood. Wait staff were polite.

Nice spot.

We've eaten at Le Paris Brest on several occasions in the past and enjoyed them all. Dinner last night was a complete disaster. Small servings and inflated prices for main courses. It will be quite a while before we venture back.

I had heard great things about Le Paris-Brest cafe but as I don't live anywhere near the hills it has always been idle on my 'list of places to dine'. However the opportunity for a visit arose after a lovely morning spent at a day spa in nearby Pickering Brook, so my friend and I headed up to Kalamunda to check it out. In a word - fantastic. We both had a toasted panini with pumpkin, feta, rocket, sundried tomato and pesto - at less than $10 inc a kick-butt side salad, a steal! We'll be back!

Went for the first time last Saturday for lunch...this Cafe/Restaurant was buzzing...great atmosphere - musician playing outside certainly added to this. Food was great..we started with the mixed plate which had the most fantatic pate we have had in a long time. The calamari mains was tender and again thoroughly enjoyable...the group next door all had the most amazingly large looking gourmet pies...well - thats for next time...I'll certainly be back!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating..even though they were really busy ( a lot of people just coming in for coffee/cake ).

Would love to try dinner - the menu looks fabulous and Im sure at night the atmosphere would change to "very romantic" having the French theme throughout. So nice to find a cafe/restaurant like this out of the blue...and oh yes you can BYO which is a bonus.

I have visited this restaurant many times and have been so impressed with every aspect. I have only had one bad experience and would blame that on the fact that there seemed to be only three waitresses during a busy lunch period.

I have chosen to base my review on one visit from about a month ago. After being promptly greeted at the door, we sat down and were given ample time to read through the menu. It was a tough decision but I settled on the dish consisting of the tiger prawns and gnocchi. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish, the flavours worked perfectly together and I have never eaten fresher gnocchi! Although the serving looked small on arrival, it turned out to be a perfect size, leaving me satisfied but with enough room for dessert.

Being a true French cafe, the desserts always look so delicious and taste just as good as they look! I chose the white chocolate and raspberry dessert which was incredible! I can honestly say I have never tasted anything quite like it and was actually disappointed when I returned the next time and it was not available.

I would have to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a true French cafe experience. You have the option to enjoy the basic coffee and dessert or go all out with a three course dinner and bottle of wine. It has a relaxing and homely ambience whether you choose to dine inside or al-fresco and the food is definitely good value for your money!

It was a good dining experience, however, on the evening that we decided to try out the restaurant which was fully booked, they were a little short handed and the mains came out a little cooled, we suspect that they had been sitting a while before being served. Water was refilled promptly; the staff were fairly attentive and experienced but mostly with cool efficiency, not very warm and smiley. Complimentary extras were a nice touch to begin and end the meal. Food was delicious. Definitely worth another visit.

Oops, we did it again! Okay, I think in the last 6 or so weeks we've been here three times. We had a voucher that had to be used so dined here last night. As always everything was great. We were hungry so had entrees this time, soup of the day, pumpkin and coriander, very yummy. For mains we ordered the beef again and it was cooked to perfection. Also had the usual goats cheese and chives potato mash and this time a side of Asian greens. Well, we had to take half of each side home because we'd obviously bitten off more than we could chew.

It was a very busy night and I think only two waitresses on. I saw them turn away two couples as the restaurant was fully booked. However, our little table of two was never forgotten, water and wine were topped up when needed and the service was outstanding. The two waitresses on last night are wonderful, they know what they're doing and make your dining experience all that more enjoyable.

So all in all we had a great night. The bill was $86 after taking $25 off, which I think is reasonable and you take your own wine and pay $2 a head corkage. We will definitely be back again. We want to try different restaurants but it's just so convenient being close to home and, like I say, it's a wonderful place to spend an evening with your partner.

Once again ventured here for dinner with the in-laws and was not disappointed. Three had the Asian beef and one the fish of the day. All dishes were great. Only thing was we had a little extra wait for our meals as I think the chef was only new and the main chef wasn't in. No probs there though, we were apologised to more than once for any inconvenience and given a voucher to use next time we go there. I love this place and the staff are just wonderful. Voucher has to be used within the week so will probably find ourselves up the hill again at some stage and am looking forward to it. Oh, also, as is practice at this restaurant for starters you always get some divine concoction compliments of the chef and last night's was mushroom soup in a shot glass, yummo !!!!

Went here for dinner last night with the in-laws and enjoyed ourselves. We took our own wine as it is BYO and now they charge $2 corkage a head, before there was no charge. Had a booking for 7.30. We arrived and the place was at least half full. We were seated promptly and water poured for us all. It seemed the waitstaff were a tad busy as it took a little while for our wine to come out and the menus. There was a table of about 10 near us and I think that was slowing the process a little.

Once we decided what to order I had to catch the waitress' eye to let her know we were ready. On our table we had one order of chicken (this looked a tad dry), two orders of beef which came with wasabi and a shooter of sweet tea to sip throughout and both enjoyed their meals thoroughly, one even saying it was the best they'd had. I ordered the fish of the day which was Barramundi, grilled with a lovely sauce, I forget all the ingredients but artichoke was there and it was also served with some pasta, which at first I thought a little unusual but turned out to compliment the fish just perfectly. We also ordered a side of mashed potato and goats cheese which was absolute delish - it is a must if you venture to this restaurant.

I love that they give you a little complimentary bruschetta to start with, very delicate and the perfect way to start the dining experience.

All in all the experience was sensational. I really like this place. After the initial lag in service everything was served timely and our glasses were always being filled with water. The waitresses are lovely and professional. The ambience is great, it can be a little loud but we don't mind that, I think it adds to the experience.

The lady at the till is a very lovely person, I went to this restaurant about 3 months ago and she remembered that I had dined there before. Our bill came to $150 for four people which I thought was pretty reasonable considering we all did enjoy our meals and this is not a cafe style priced restaurant.

They do a breakfast which we shall have to try and are also open for lunch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant serves up well cooked and beautifully presented food, service is excellent and the dining area is pleasant.

We have been happy when we have eaten here before ,but this time we were very disappointed with the cost of the meagre portions we were served. I do not think we will head up the hills to this venue again.

What a quaint little place this is! There's a giant Eiffel Tower placed out the front of the restaurant and the interior is so cosy. There are lots of French paintings around the room and bright coloured walls and flowers. The service is impeccable! The two wait staff working the night my husband and I dined here were very attentive and our drinks were never empty. We bought our own bottle of wine and they don't even charge corkage! We both ordered the cream of mushroom soup for starters which was a perfect start to our evening. Absolutely delicious! I ordered the lamb for mains, and my husband ordered the beef. Both were cooked perfectly - the only complaint I did have was that my lamb could have been a little hotter. The pastries and desserts looked scrumptious but unfortunately we didn't have any room left. We will definitely be going back!

Last night we {10 of us} had our "L" night restaurant evening, and had the maxi taxi service take us over to Kalamunda to Le Paris-Brest. Now this restaurant has been a bit of a hills secret for years originally opening as a cafe serving the most magnificent pastries. This was the first time that I had visited for an evening meal. The ambience was just superb, very French and colourful. We were greeted and shown to our table where glasses were changed to suit the champagne drinkers amongst us. Now I can only speak for myself on this occasion but hopefully some of the others will give their review as well. The things I liked first of all - I had a "gentle" size of Salmon tartar. This was quite stunning, gentle flavours and certainly I would recommend it. We had 3 plates of garlic bread on the table but this was particularly dry and not the best. For my main choice I had another "gentle" size of French gnocchi which was mixed with scallops and a light creamy sauce. Again this was a success in my books. The presentation of the food also was first class. We were waited upon by a most delightful young man named Michael who could not have been more polite and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. Now for the sting in the tail the things I didn't like. When we first arrived all of our wine, champagne etc was taken away from us, remember their were 10 of us and we'd come by taxi. What I mean is there was a lot of bottles!! During the evening Michael brought out different bottles and we began to lose count of how many champagne bottles had come and gone. One of the 10 tried to keep an eye on things but on 3 occasions 1 bottle of champers, 1 bottle of white and 1 bottle of red seemed to go missing. { It was always found a few minutes later.} The waiter even offered to go to the bottle shop for us which I thought a bit strange. I certainly didn't feel comfortable with this idea. I always remember someone saying never let you credit card out of your sight! I'd like to add "never let your wine out of your sight". The second negative was the service time. It was much too long. We arrived at 7pm and only had our entree and mains before our taxi came to pick us up 3 hours later. As this restaurant is well known for it desserts and gourmet pastries it was a bit of a shame. Good for the figure though!! I'd like to try this restaurant again just as a couple or 4 of us to test it out again.
