Food:

We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and rice paper rolls for entree, the spring rolls were okay, the rice paper rolls were really fresh and crunchy. For mains we went a little overboard with the Satay tofu on sizzler (delicious), steamed kai-lan (the healthy part), sweet and sour pork (didn't try it but apparently it was fatty pork) and pilau rice (tasted like fried rice with out anything added). There was plenty for both the boy and I for lunch the next day.

Service:

We had two waiters, it was easy to catch their eye as they were constantly walking around, they didn't mind separating the rice into a vegetarian and meat container. Very accomadating, we were happy.

Ambience:

This place is quite large and noisy, there was some weird repetitive music playing, think they had the bass turned up, but overall quite nice.

Overall:
I was impressed enough with the food, service and price that we will definitely be returning.

Very nice, my husband had "goat curry" and he loves it. I ordered the "pork & beef rice noodle in spicy soup", nice but a bit sweet rather than spicy. Stuffed chicken wings, must try!!!

Service:

Very efficient and professional.

Ambience:

Simple but smart/trendy. Open plan and clean

Overall:
It's better than what it looks from outside. Will definitely go back again

My first visit to Lido was wonderful I had never tried any of the dishes on the menu so I was looking forward to tasting vietnamese. I am not usually a fan of mint but the first dish (soft spring rolls) which I can't pronounce was very refreshing, I thoroughly enjoyed the mains which were very tasty. Overall I would say my first experience of vietnamese food was colourful.

Lido's is hands down the best value for money restaurant in Perth. I have been there about once a month for the past 2 years and I have never been dissatisfied. The squid with plum sauce for entree is my favourite. I'm not afraid to experiment with the menu because nothing has let me down. The tables are nicely spaced, and whilst it is constantly busy, it never really gets overly noisy. There are lots of windows offering a nice view of street life and there are plants placed around which gives the place a nice homely, slightly exotic feel. The satay dishes are sensational, its hard to choose between the entrees because it is such a huge menu and it is all so good. Finish it all off with a nice iced vietnamese coffee and voila! Dining perfection!

Awesome!

My family has just arrived from Italy and Lido was the first place it came up to my mind for dinner. My family is very picky, especially my mum being a chef…but everyone loved their food.

We had pork rice paper rolls, spring rolls, meat samosas and stuffed chicken wings. Both the rice rolls and the wings were amazingly good.

As mains I had a duck dish with mushroom tofu and some green vegetable it was delicious and so gingery! My mum had the salt and pepper squid and she found it adorable, my sister had some chicken stir fried noodles, my boyfriend and dad had a diced veal dish that came out with fried rice. Both the rice and the veal were magnificent. And finally my cousin got a lemon grass chicken with rice dish and special fried rice. The only negative dish was the special fried rice, but that’s because in Italy fried rice is different and no one expected it in the aussie way.

The service was also very good and courteous the waiter was very nice and patience, especially assisting all the pretentious requests of my family!

We will certainly go back.

The total plus two 1l bottles of water and a beer came up to 136$ so pretty cheap for 6 people.

Overall good food in a lively (a little noisy) place. Will definitely go back.

We over ordered and took food home for tomorrow, we are not big eaters but 2 starter and 4 mains between 3 was completely over doing it we have enough food for 5 people.

The scallop and the duck/tofu dishes where excellent, as where the vegs in coconut cream curry and the steamed kai-lan. I would not recommend the pork rice paper rolls, they where unusually chewy and not that tasty.

The service was great to start with, but as they got busy it noticeably dropped off. Although they were very friendly.

I revisited this restaurant after going initially when it opened.

I was conscious that the Vietnamese restaurant was a bit more 'upmarket' that the other ones in Northbridge, so I was prepared for the slightly pricier menu.

The ambience was good, although rather noisy, with extremely professional, well-groomed and dressed, English-speaking staff who worked very hard to deliver the food and clear the tables throughout the evening. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was full at 8.00pm, I'll remember to book in future.

The menu offered a very different style of Vietnamese cuisine which arrived very well-presented with lots of fresh ingredients, virtual forests of salad and sumptuous tastes. I had the diced veal with fried rice - so delicious, I'm still dreaming of it!

The stuffed chicken wings were good, but the 'Goi Cuon" was rather disappointing and my friend who had the prawn mince on sugar cane suggested that the prepared seafood may have been imported and not as fresh as would have been expected.

With 2 bottles of chardonnay, the entire bill for 5 came to $125.00 - amazing!

I will definitely be going back for more of this stylish, inexpensive, well-staffed restaurant again. It's no wonder the restaurant is always well-patronised.

Good traditional Vietnamese is always easy to please with us. We had the Bun Bo Xao (Braised Beef with Lemongrass and Vermicelli) which is my personal favourite, it was DELICIOUS!

The Goat curry was tasty but the meat was quite fatty. You can't go wrong with fresh spring rolls either! Food didn't take long, staff were friendly, and the decor is a lot nicer than most restaurants in the area!

We'll be back for SURE!

Food was delicious, service was a tad slow. We sat next to a guy (and his wife) who worked there but was supposed to have his night off. He ended up serving people and taking orders during the busy period in his civilian clothes. We were completely happy with the food and will definitely go again, even though some people who sat down after us got their food before us. The fried squid (entree) was our fave.

We visited this place on the strength on the reviews it received, and were not disappointed.

The decor is fresh, clean and modern, giving a feeling of spaciousness.

The service was not fantastic. We had to wait a long time to have our order taken, and the meals came out disjointedly, but everyone who did serve us was smiling and friendly.

Stand out entree was the medium rare veal fillet with tamarind based sauce salad. the veal was lovely and tender and the dressing over the crisp vegetables was a perfect accompaniment.

Stir fry chilli garlic prawns were enjoyed by my partner but the stir fried scallops with asparagus were a disappointment. the vegetables were crisp and lovely but the scallops were very bland in the dish.

Good range of beers available and the corkage fee was very reasonable.

The location is great too, and it would be a good place to go have a meal, taking advantage of the bar, before heading out for the night.

This is our favourite restaurant at the moment. Great food, great prices, great service.
I can't falter it, I love almost anything on the menu except for some of the soups.

Try Satay anything if you are new to the place, or the Tamarind and coconut prawns are great too...
The kiwi fruit drink is great as well, and all of the entrees are sometimes better than the main meals!

It's licensed and BYO to boot!

Ambience loses half a star, because we go there so often :)

This is an absolute favourite of mine. Been going there for years. The clean crisp flavours of every dish I have tried are a refreshing new approach to vietnamese cuisine.

The decore is well considered modern, a contrast to most family asian retaurants in Perth. Everybody I take leaves a converted lido client.

This place needs more recognition! Very modern and clean decor with great food, at incredibly reasonable prices.
I ordered the 'Com xao bo luc lac', it was veal with a delicious dipping sauce, and is featured on the menu with a photo next to the dishes with rice. Well worth trying, and im told similar to a Japanese dish that is simply unavailable in Perth. (I also tried my girlfriends duck which was very tasty.)
Dinner for the three of us came to under $25 which is amazing for how enjoyable and satisfying our meals were.
The clean spacious modern ambience creates a relaxing atmosphere, seperating you from the diners at the other tables and the options of a full bar or BYO are always welcome.
