- We keep going back, whether to dine in or get take away. This restaurant is a little gem and always bursting at the seams. This is one of the few restaurants that understands about 'Gluten Free' requirements and I'm amazed that they remember me when I ring up for takeaway.

- We had the Vietnamese spring rolls ($7) as an entree and then shared steamed rice, chicken lemongrass and chilli ($14.50), Squid tomato ($15.50) - stuffed whole baby squid in a tomato & herb sauce and the most UNBELIEVABLE tamarind prawns ($?) I have ever had. I normally shy away from tamarind as it can be quite sour - but these were brilliant!

- Our table was looked after quite well. The staff monitor your progress so everything is sent out at the right time. There was a large party there as well so they were a little distracted with them. Although we had no problems we did hear one table making a fuss over trying to get the bill.

- I found it quite pleasant. I expected with how busy it was for the place to be really loud and 'squished in'. But we were lead to the back room and were able to easily talk between ourselves. Space could be a bit of an issue with large groups - but i don't really move around when I'm there to eat!

- I was really impressed with this place despite feeling that some of the dishes were a tad overpriced. I wouldn't order take-away as it is just too far from where we live - but I will definitely be taking my partner there for him to try it out. I would certainly recommend going there for a nice night out!

- I loved this place! The food tasted delicious although somewhat small servings it seemed to fill us all up. The service was good; we didn't feel we were waiting long for our meals. There is a bottle shop across the road where you can go buy a nice bottle of wine which we did as it is BYO. The restaurant itself was small so booking ahead is essential on busy times.

-
This was the second Vietnamese restaurant I went to last week and easily the best.
Our party of 5 increased to 6 at the last minute which was easily accommodated despite the fully booked restaurant on Saturday night, thanks again.
As we were beginning to open our BYO bottles of wine (another plus) and perusing the menu, all of a sudden a series of entrees were quickly whisked to our table. Initially I thought one of my more lateral thinking friends had pre-ordered these for us when we got there but it turned out they were all for a different table.
Lucky we checked before tucking into the foreign food but at least it gave us a good idea of what the menu looked like in real life. Speaking of which we ordered 5-6 entrees then 5-6 mains with rice as well.
The food was near faultless without being truly inspired. The pick of the bunch would be the goat curry on the bone which was packed with flavour. Ginger chicken, bbq pork and beef and seafood dishes rounded out our choices.
The meal left us only $30 each lighter in the pocket but definitely fans of Little Saigon as to admit, I did not bring high expectations with me.
Only one other criticism, the lychees and ice-cream are tinned fruit with Sara Lee vanilla bean. I’d skip it and have another curry instead.

After all the good things I heard about Little Saigon restaurant from friends, my wife & I finally had a chance to try it out for ourselves.
Firstly, the food was some of the best Asian dishes we've ever tried!
The service was very friendly and professional.
We ordered 3 entree's and 3 main dishes, including the highly recommended salt & pepper coated squid as advised by our friends that eat there often, as for the price,
I felt it was worth what we paid... A fabulous dinner and night out.

We ate here for the first time on a Wednesday night last week; aside from us there was a family of four. The food was overpriced for the sizes but we ordered pork spring rolls, a main each & also vegetables & rice so it was more than enough & we had a bit to take home as well.
I didn't find any rudeness or persistance like I have read in other reviews; when we paid, the lady even gave us a few dollars off our total as we were fishing in our wallets.
Compared to other vietnamese restaurants we probably wouldn't eat there again, but we had a pleasant enough evening.

I've eaten here a number of times and the food has always been great. Very fresh and tasty. Although I certainly agree the serves (for the price) are quite small. The prawn spring rolls are delicious (but again, pricey), and their curry and ginger dishes great. They also have some very different, rural Vietnamese dishes like catfish.
Reading other reviews here, I must say I have been there once where a waiter has encouraged us to order more food, but they've never mentioned a minimum cost per head. I've also had an occasion where the waiter recommended not to order certain dishes together, but this was more about ensuring a good dining experience than being pushy. (he said it was like combining a tiger and a mongoose or something!!).

I was slightly shocked after reading the reviews of this restaurant, as I did not experience the bad service, small portions or the aggressive owner.
We turned up on a Thursday night with no reservation and were immediately greeted and seated at a table.
The staff were attentive, and never tried to push anything that we weren't interested in.
We ordered the soup as entree which was delicious and then for our mains had the Curry Chicken and Bean Curd & Vegetable Hotpot with a side of Rice. Everything about the dish was perfect, and extremely filling. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and obviously high quality meat. The two of us walked out of the restaurant feeling full and very content.
In fact, I am used to vegetarian dishes with one or two pieces of tofu, but this was definitely not the case. In fact if anything they were probably overly generous with the tofu.
By the time we left the restaurant was full of people, all tables seemed to be enjoying themselves and I did not see any evidence of the aggressive rude owner that was mentioned by the other reviewers.
I will definitely be back again.

Had arranged a work group of 20 people to dine here as I have eaten here before and the food is very tasty and fresh. Was assured by the owner Christine that the $32 per head would ensure that nobody left hungry. We were not given a menu beforehand as she wasn't sure what would be fresh that day and wanted to ensure we got the freshest and tastiest she could offer.
The food was certainly fresh and tasty - what we got of it! At one stage one of the staff even reminded us that we needed to share when hungry patrons asked "if that was all". There were things like spring rolls, deep fried fish balls and a spicy salad. Mains were diverse and delicious and DAINTY! The last dish consisted of a few lychees, slices of strawberry and copious slices of orange AND we had to pay for for tea or coffee if we wanted it. Very disappointing and embarrassing for me (being the organiser of the event). Taste-wise I would recommend it but don't expect big serves and DEFINITELY don't organise a large group booking there. Considering they had a good write up in the paper on the weekend I imagine they will get some more business - so be prepared.
