I think almost everyone in our group of 10 was underwhelmed by their meal. I ordered an entree sized chili salt squid and if that's what I received it was enormous. The squid was tender with a nice crispy coating but the chips which were described as beer battered were like seasoned chips from the supermarket and too similar to the squid. The ponzu mayonnaise that accompanied it was nice but there was only about a tablespoon full. A friend ordered a sirloin with garlic potatoes and cabernet jus. The steak was cooked well but the jus was just a small quantity of pan juices and the potatoes were just boiled spuds with no apparent garlic flavour. There was a dubious looking brown thing on top of the steak but apparently it was quite tasty.

Service:

Our waiter proudly announced that the special was snapper. We finally asked how it was prepared and he said it came with a jus of that round rice stuff. Turns out it was a curry with rice. When my meal didn't come later I grabbed his attention and he looked over and asked me where my meal was.

Ambience:

It's a nice enough restaurant, modern and clean with different areas of tables and seating and accommodates groups well. It was very loud though so our group had trouble conducting conversations beyond the person seated next to us.

Overall:
We decided to go to Mash because it was very close to where we were staying and although we were disappointed overall it's probably worth noting that none of our group drinks beer. Given that it is a brewery I suppose many people go to try the beer, with food an afterthought. They'd probably have a much more positive experience.

on a beautiful winter sunday arvo we arrived with a group of 10. turkish bread was fresh, mushroom dip was yummy. the fish from the F&C tasted like it was frozen. My friends were not impressed. There was more sandwich than steak on the steak sandwich. the chicken stuffed pastry was a bit dry. My thai meatballs were tasty, but the rocket, pumpking, beetroot salad could of used something?? beer was cold!

Service:

nice staff. attentive

it seems too loud. since there are lots of big groups during the weekend conversation can get lost. Patio seating looks nice

Overall:
not bad. but not my favorite place to go when Im in the valley. Being close to Supagolf is a plus.

Dropped into Mash with 8 people after a round of Supagolf, which meant we already had quite a few beers under our belt, but were still keen for more!!

After being seated we ordered a few jugs of water, beers, an Oakover Sav Blanc, Garlic Pizza and turkish bread and dips. This was devoured so quickly I didn't even see the pizza, however the turkish bread and hummus, tzatziki and balsamic/evoo was delish, but not enough bread (never enough bread)

I can't really say much for anyone else's food as by this time we were really quite jolly.

I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was lacking in something, perhaps fresh parmesan or even black pepper. My b'friend went for the lamb pizza, which was nice enough but was also lacking in something.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient - no complaints there.

Atmosphere was loud and everyone was in a happy mood.

Food was lacking, beer was lovely.

Would love to go back and try something else as a great time was had by all!

It was a Sunday afternoon when my friends and I decided to hit Mash for a girls day out. We arrived around 2pm and found the place to be quite busy. We were greeted politely by a young waitress who took us to some comfy couch seats inside.

I’m not a big beer drinker but my friends are, I settled into a few cosmo cocktails whilst my friends loved the mex and the new honey pils.

The food took a little while to come out but it was well worth the wait, we shared a chicken pizza, a portabello pizza and a mash plate which was fantastic.

We stayed to watch some of the live music and to keep an eye on some of the guys walking around, overall the day was great fun and we'll definitely be back soon for some more good times.

After a round of super golf with some friends, we decided to cool off at Mash round the corner.

We were greeted at the door by a flustered waitress, which seated us quickly and took our order almost immediately.

I must admit that the place looks really funky and the ambiance was excellent. The quality of the beers was amazing as well. (Except for the Mexican beer which wasn't quite what we expected)

We also got a couple of Asian baskets to share amongst the group, and the quality of the food compared to the price we paid was a little disappointing.

We waited at the counter for a while to pay for our bill and were ignored by the waitress's rushing past us to the kitchen.

If great beer is just what you're after, I’d recommend this place. Cheers!

My husband and I went to Mash in the hope of grabbing a quick bite on Saturday night before heading on to the movies. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly waitress who showed us to a table.

We had never been there before, so we asked for her help in choosing a beer. She suggested the Mex and the Wheat beer and they were both fantastic.

My husband ordered lamb, I ordered chilli mussels and we shared some calamari to start with, and I can't fault any of them.

We will definitely go back. The service, food and beer were all great; especially considering it was so busy.

We travel from Claremont to come to this fantastic place every month to be greeted with fantastic service, food and atmosphere.

However, our last visit was disappointing. The liquor license had obviously changed with all groups regardless of size having to be seated first and unable to come up to the bar and purchase drinks. There was not enough staff on which there should have been considering it was the holidays and the weekend. The usual staff that i used to see have been replaced by staff who look incredibly unhappy to be there.

I put this down to the new changes the liquor license has caused as one staff member kindly informed me.

Once again I see liquor license is out to destroy yet another wonderful establishment where people love to spend their weekends.

Mash brewery is a welcome addition to the swan valley! Funky, bright and fun! We had dinner here Friday. A polo (?) club were having a xmas function so was very noisy but as we were chasing a casual dinner it didnt bother us in the slightest.

We ordered some beef nachos, a Caesar salad and a chicken pizza. Service was friendly and prompt and the food was tasty!

This was a favourite place of ours, that was until our last visit.

We had family over from the East and wanted to take them to our favourite place in the Valley.

You now have to pay for tastings. Gone are the nice shot glasses replaced by little plastic cups. If you want to try all the beers you now get them all together on a tray - no more knowledgeable talk from the bar staff.

I found it very noisy in the restaurant area. There was a large group in but when we moved away it was still very noisy.

I am sorry to say this is now just like any other place. The personal touch replaced by bus groups and hens parties!

Mash could easily fit into the hip precinct of Subiaco with its minimalistic, modern style. The restaurant is comfortable with the option of sitting on an enclosed deck; however we opted for a position under a heater in a comfy booth.

The menu offers simple pub type fare with Mash Brewery beer and a small selection of wine. The beer is great and anyone who likes ale will appreciate the free tastings, which uniquely are served in shot glasses.

For a starter we ordered the garlic pizza, which I have to advise against ordering. It was a hard, unrisen oily disc that had little flavour. The rest of our meals were fantastic and showed excellent value for money. The pasta serves are enormous and full of flavour. The steak was succulent and the poor boys were so big that they were left unfinished.

A great place for a casual meal that won’t break the bank. We will return again, very soon.

We went for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

Great friendly service. They have the mix just right.
The menu is not big on choice but don't let this put you off, it appears they change it regularly.

I had the steak sandwich with beer batter chips. This was very tasty and an ample sized portion.

We went for the tastings of all the beers. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the beer they were serving. We particularly like the wheat beer.

Overall a great place to visit. Will be going again soon!

We arrived at Mash Brewery on a Sunday afternoon.

We were part of a large group of 10 or so.
The restaurant was nice and open with large windows and people sitting on the verandahs. It has a lovely view of the swan valley.

We headed up for tastings first and then had a seat to order our meals.

The menu had a lovely variety of meals. All suitable for a brewery. Nothing overly flash but all lovely.
Service was great. Best we have had for a while.
All of our meals came out correctly and at the same time.

I had an open foccacia with chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, avocado etc. Which was a huge serving and was really tasty.

Everyone was more than satisfied.

We will be back there again soon.
