Overall:
A very good Italian style restaurant, with excellent food, and quite good service. The meals are a good size, and the pasta is excellent.
We have had two meals there, and my wife is ready to go back in a flash. The owners take a hands-on approach to customers, and the place has a friendly, Italian home-style feel to it.
As with many restaurants, they can get very busy and slow .. and when full, you usually get placed on the tables out front, where you are more exposed to passing vehicle noise, and wind .. which is not the best, if it's cold.
The management is usually happy to re-seat customers if they aren't happy with the seating they choose initially.
My wife and I often (wisely) decline to enter restaurants that are bursting at the seams. You just KNOW that you'll be waiting a considerable length of time to get served .. and you often end up with disappointing meals from hassled chefs.
All in all, Matilda's is a most enjoyable dining experience, and I'll go back anytime.
