Overall:
Having only been here once i was still quite dissapointed with the service and food in this place.

We ordered an entree of turkish bread and as it took long enough to get attention of the waitress to order this we went ahead and ordered our mains, 25 mins later we were still waiting for the entree, however being a busy Sunday lunch period we decided to be more patient.

Our mains arrived (minus entree) and we reminded the waitress that we had not yet received it. So starving with no entree we tucked into our meals which i must add were quite tasty, i ordered the seafood salad which was light yet very satisfying with a generous portion of seafood ranging from scallops to prawns and squid. My partner also happy with his meal of the Swiss chicken sandwich.

We managed to finish our meals minus the entree. We questioned the waitress again, she then went to the kitchen and came out saying that it would be 5 mins (meaning that they had forgotten to take our order for this).

Being so full from our mains we were not interested in the entree anymore however still waited for it.. as it was due to come anytime.. or so we thought. The waitress returned a good 15 mins later and informed us that the turkish bread had "accidentally" been put on another table. There was no genuine apology or any offer of a discount or "freebie" in which we were hoping. By that stage we were quite disappointed in this service and got up to leave.

Milston Gardens has potential to be better. The outdoor furniture could do with an overhaul as it feels as though you are sitting in a backyard bbq.

The menu needs to be more extensive and less pricey. We felt there was not enough options and variety.

Overall:
I had arranged to have breakfast with a friend on a Sunday morning, after not being able to get into any other place, a drive up West Swan Rd around lunchtime found a lovely little country style restaurant hidden amongst trees and beautiful gardens.

The staff were absolutely gorgeous people who were more than happy to help us with our selections on wine and mains, the restaurant is very cosy with a wood fire in the corner of the restaurant, and its very country style decor, we felt very comfortable, we ordered garlic bread for starters, which was nothing fantastic, but garlic bread can only get so great.

For mains we were both recommended Fish of the Day, by the wait staff- Snapper with Mash, lemon sauce...which was divine. we both thoroughly enjoyed the fish.

Although feeling as through we could not eat anymore, you cant leave a restaurant without having dessert... my friend had an apple strudel crumble (i cant remember exactly) and i had they sticky date pudding, the servings are MASSIVE... the menu should say 'desserts serve 2', although the sticky date was a little dry on the ends, it was lovely. we could only eat half our desserts, but we tried with great enthusiasm to eat the entire.

I enjoyed this restaurant so much that i booked the restaurant out for my birthday dinner.

15 guests, and the entire restaurant was absolutely fantastic, the staff were more than happy to accommodate any requests from my guests and always had a smile on their face.

Most of the guests had steak, and all were satisfied.. one guest was vegetarian.. with only one choice on the menu for her u was a little apologetic, but she enjoyed it. i had the roast. the entire meal was lovely (although no roast ever compares to grandmothers home cooked Sunday roasts) with Yorkshire puddings on the side... that couldn’t be cut, let alone eaten, that was my only disappointment.

desserts, knowing from prior experience we all shared a dessert, and the staff candled one of them and the staff and guest all sang happy birthday (much to my embarrassment).

so all experiences at Milstons have been good.

I would recommend Milstons to anyone who was looking for a quiet sunday lunch or dinner.

Ohh and the gardens outside are beautiful... i have several photos of my guests in the gardens..a beautiful backdrop.
