- My partner and I booked for dinner on a Saturday night. We ordered the dips and Turkish bread for entree. The bread was nicely done and generous for two but the dips were clearly a commercial purchase and not made on the premises, they were tasty but nothing to go wow over. I ordered the salmon and my partner the prawn and mussel paella. Both dishes arrived promptly and looked lovely presentation wise. It was most disappointing, however, that both dishes lacked flavour. The paella was very bland and overwhelmed by a "chicken stock" taste and the salmon, despite the infused bell peppers, which sounded to wonderful on the menu, did little to excite the tastebuds. We decided against dessert.

- We would definitely give it another go but felt that the disappointment with the flavour of our main meals spoiled our experience somewhat. Considering the pricing, I would have expected a higher standard in that regard, however, I do feel that the presentation and quality of the actual food was acceptable. The generous discount from the VIP card was welcomed.

It was a Saturday night. We went in early to avoid the crowd. We were seated by the fire place, which wasn't too hot. We ordered the Seafood Platter entree. Which we felt wasn't worth the $35 price. Smoked salmon (3 pieces) garlic prawns (small about 6) chili mussels (cold) and rubbery calamari. The sausage & mini olives were nice.
Two of my party ordered the steak, 1 ordered med to well, the other med rare to med. I ordered the chicken breast stuffed with prawn mousse.
My dining companions were served the wrong steak. My chicken was over cooked and dry, it was barely "stuffed" w/ prawn mousse. There were a few big party's going on in the pub so I'm not sure if they were under pressure to supply them & dinners. However I don't think we'll be back soon.

- Not bad, we got there just before 7pm and it really started to get busy by 8pm, so our dirty meal dishes sat there for quite awhile after we were done eating.

I decided to visit the oxford after i read the write up in the sunday times and decided to visit the website to check out the menu, it sounded so mouth watering i decided to go for lunch today.
We were seated promptly by the friendliest and well dressed waiter i had seen in a long time, it was a bit chilly inside as they didnt have the fire going but it was clean and crisp with white table cloths and trendy chairs, nice to look at, the restaurant mixed old and new very well.
The menu sounded delicious, not a lot to choose from but it is a pub after all. we started with a dips to share, the bread was plentiful for two people and toasted nicely and was accompanied by three dips, all tasty but obviously bought in and not home made, and some feta and seedless olives (not sure about those, they are not real olives if they dont have the seed, and they could have done with some marinating). But overall it was fast and tasty.
Before we were served our mains our side plates and cutlery and napkins were changed, a big plus at any venue and we were also given water on arrival, i believe this should be the standard at any restaurant.
I had the Rogers Beer Beef pie and it was delicious, real chunks of meat, with chunky garlic and onions on mash potato with a deliciously thick homemade gravy, didnt quite like the mint sauce on the top for garnish. It was large enough that i had to really squeeze it in. Too full to even try a dessert or coffee.
My friend had the rabbit ragout with risoni, it was a large serve, piping hot and presented nicely. The only fault it could have done with more flavouring, but still good enough to eat.
Overall, the music was good, the waiter excellent, the standard of food was good enough to go back for which i cannot say about many of the places i have gone to.

- We went to Oxford to celebrate our netball GF victory (we had won a $170 voucher). I had the crusted lamb with potato croquet and vegetable coulis. The lamb steak was huge and cooked perfectly. Very tasty indeed. 3 of us ordered it and all enjoyed it, one couldn’t eat it as it was that big. I also tried the fried calamari with balsamic glaze salad. Very nice. I complimented the chef afterwards, who was apparently new and stressing out at all the people he had to feed. Job well done.

My husband and I went to the Oxford for dinner as it was too hot to cook, and we had a $50 voucher. I had the grilled Red Emperor with a caper and lemon butter sauce, on potato puree with grilled asparagus. My husband had the beef & prawn stir-fry with sweet chilli and ginger sauce and udon noodles. Both meals were surprisingly tasty. I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from a pub restaurant. The fish was thick, but perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicate and slightly sweet. The stir-fry was quite spicy, but with a nice sweet, gingery sauce. We also had some grilled garlic bread, which was salty and delicious.
The service was good, there was only one waitress, but it wasn't busy. I think it was too hot for people to be outside.
Overall it was a good meal; we left feeling very full and satisfied.

I’ve eaten here a few times, and the food is always good – its your usual pub type menu, the chilli muscles are nice, with servings of crusty bread.
Service is good and you can choose to eat either in the tranquil beer garden or indoors.
