Food:

I was really disappointed by the food at the Sail & Anchor. I had a Caesar Salad with prawns and was completely let down. Half of the lettuce was wilted, the prosciutto tasted like it was honey smoked ham. The shaved parmesan was cut way too thick and it tasted cheap. The dressing tasted like it was from a bottle and the croutons were huge slabs of crouton on the side, instead of adding texture to the salad, they were an after-thought. There was one sad and sorry looking anchovy draped over the lettuce. On the plus side, there were way more prawns than I expected and they were good. The chef should try the $19 Caesar Salad from an unnamed hotel in Como and then hang his/her head in shame at charging $23.90 for this salad nightmare.

Service:

The service was bright and friendly and polite. They were late bringing one of the three pizzas my four companion's shared but they were prompt in correcting their mistake and were very friendly about it.

Ambience:

The restaurant had a warm atmosphere but was a little noisy, I couldn't struggled to hear the people on the other side of the table. The furniture is big, solid and comfortable which is a rare and appreciated

Overall:
The Sail & Anchor was a fun place to have a drink and sit comfortably with friends to share a meal. However overpriced but lame salad and the fact that all the other food on the table (3 pizzas and two serves of garlic bread) was burnt isn't really good enough.

Overall:
A beautiful sunny day spent in Fremantle. Lovely outdoor dining and quick, efficient service. My husband enjoyed an icy cold beer followed by a creamy sundried tomato and bacon fettuccini. I had a smoked chicken and baby spinach salad with generous amounts of brie cheese and macadamia nuts. We will definitely be back! Well done Sail and Anchor.
