Overall:
My partner and I visited Savannahs on a recommendation by a friend. Although our booking was not passed on from reception, this was quickly resolved and we were given a table right by the window, with a gorgeous view over Scarborough Beach.
To begin we had a selection of breads and dips. Quite simple but enjoyable with drinks as a starter. For mains we both had the Atlantic Salmon. We both cleared our plates and were incredibly satisfied! Although we would have loved to have more because it tasted so good, it was the perfect size to fill us up!
We both then went for the same dessert, the apple tart! Once again we weren’t disappointed! It tasted so fresh, and was quite light, not leaving us feeling as if we had eaten too much!
Our waiter for the evening was incredibly efficient, polite and professional, continually ensuring we were enjoying our meals and making sure we were alright for drinks. Our meals were delivered promptly with almost no time spent waiting. All together, minus an entertainment card discount, it cost $90. Quite good value for three courses and 2 drinks each. Will return!
Overall:
Had dinner last Saturday. Very nice view of the ocean, nice big windows. We had the tasting plate as an entree. It was very very nice but in my opinion was very small serving even for a tasting plate. Good wine list as well and they also serve cocktails. We had lamb as our main with cous cous with pumpkin mash and asparagus, very tasty and meat very tender. We didn't have a chance to have dessert but would love to go back again. It is highly recommended. The staff were also friendly and service was fast despite of a full restaurant.
Overall:
The view was to die for. Started with the Thai squid salad, which was the best dish I've ever had. The main was very, very nice too. Was with party of four and everyone loved there meals. Service was great, always checking if everything was ok. Will return for sure...
Overall:
Entree of breads with flavoured butter etc was good, beef was nice but olive risotto cake it was resting on was dreadful - inedible. Freezing cold whole night even after complaining, to the point of very uncomfortable and spoilt the anniversary dinner. Also, service was slow, with one girl running around doing it all, although a "meeter & greeter" did nothing but stand and watch. I asked about something on the menu and girl didn't come back to us for 15 minutes, although filled up others water glasses etc.
Won't return - pity should have been great !
Overall:
Okay maybe I went here on a off nite - I don’t know- but the food was very, very average and I wouldn’t go back.
Our entree tasting plate was fine, the Clairault Shiraz good, the side order of Asian vegetables crisp and tasty.
On to the mains - My partner ordered the Harvey Beef Fillet. It arrived well done (was ordered medium rare) the wine reduction jus was just odd tasting and the accompanying "bacon, thyme & olive cake" was not edible (and hey, I pretty much eat anything! hehe). My chicken breast was fine but the "porcini mushroom cream sauce" with it tasted like tinned soup.
Service was alright and the view of the ocean would be amazing during the day here but I will not return.
