Food:

Fresh and tasty, easy and convenient spot for lunch. I had the minestrone soup, complete with a little swirl of pesto and some grated romano cheese I think. So yummy I was inspired to go home and make my own. My fellow diner had a lovely tomato tart with a fresh green salad. Given there was nothing left on the plate and I wasn't offered a tester, it must have tasted good.

Service:

Service was quick and efficient and oh so accommodating. A high chair was easily found (although it did need a good clean) and when my friend, a little under the weather with a cold, asked for honey and lemon tea that wasn't on the menu, it was provided without hesitation (including extra ginger!).

Ambience:

For a Friday lunch time, it was busy but not crowded, lovely room, comfortable chairs (we love that) and a casual feel, perfectly suiting the food and prices.

Overall:
What a lovely place for lunch. We'll be heading back for Breakfast sometime soon. So nice to have friendly and responsive service in Perth, and good, fresh food without the Sydney price tag.

Overall:
Overall, a great, trendy place to eat. The 'modern' take on the breakfast menu is wonderful. I easily tire of the standard fruit salad, two eggs and bacon menus and gladly welcome the saffron poached pear, wrapped in smoked salmon on sour dough. Similarly, the five bean mix baked beans with cumin and thyme on sour dough was equally tasty.

The only down fall is that as a 'hip' new cafe in trendy Leederville they do not use free-range eggs. I have enquired about this only to be told it is too expensive and prices would have to increase. I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, a cafe such as Sayers won't at least give their patrons the option of a more humane food choice making them unique amongst all the other cafes.

Sayers is definitely worth a visit for brekkie. Their porridge and muesli is to die for and their other dishes are always presented beautifully and taste great. The only problem we have is that the restaurant is not big enough!!!! Sometimes we've gone down for breakfast and had to go elsewhere because it gets packed out very quickly. I am yet to try dinner here but friends have said it is well worth a visit.

Met a girlfriend here for Sunday lunch, starving and ready for some quality home style food.

Well what can I say, I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. This is exactley the sort of place I love to go too. Funky decor, comfortable seats, lots of choices, delicious food and friendly staff. All boxes ticked.

You order and pay at the counter, which is fine by me saves having to wait for a waitperson if they are busy. There is a menu and display cabinet so there is heaps of choice at about $15 a meal including salad.

I chose the Mushroom brie tart (quiche) which had big thick slices of field mushroom and a dollop of pesto on top, the crust was beautiful and crunchy but soft (?) and I ate every single bit. My friend went for the Salmon Roulade and she also thoroughly enjoyed it but did have to ask for some bread as she was left with a heap of salmon that she didn't feel like eating on its own, of course this was no problem at all for the staff.

We then decided to have coffee and of course if you have coffee you have to have cake, so I went for the lemon tart. My oh my it was beautiful and the double cream complimented it perfectly. The coffee was really lovely with no hint of bitterness.

I cannot wait to go back again and since I can walk there I think I might go back regularly.

2 very big thumbs up!

Sayers seems like the hottest new place in the Leedy restaurant scene!

It can be found in the fairly small (but significant and fondly remembered) former premises of Eminem after that restaurant relocated.

My experience there so far consists only of stopping in for breaky a couple of times. However i am keen to try their lunch or dinner menu & a visit is definitely in the pipeline. From what i've seen at breakfast i believe the standard of food (& the coffee) on offer at Sayers compares very favorably with some of the best cafes/restaurants in the area. I'm sure there are other 'eatingwa' folks out there who can expand on this point - or might disagree with it – that’s cool too!

One criticism I’d raise would be that the music inside seems quite loud - a bit too loud to talk at normal volume with invading 'personal space' in my opinion - although i will admit some bias on this issue due to a mild hangover today.

Sayers has been remarkably busy ever since the doors to the restaurant opened a few weeks ago. It is typically packed full of the kind of patrons who have better haircuts and drive more expensive cars than i do (although this is not especially difficult). In fact my girlfriend told me earlier today that she won't go to Sayers with me again unless i start to "dress more Sayers". I assume she was joking(?) - but i'm sure you get the gist of what i'm saying.

It is probably worth mentioning that the staff also fit very much into this beautiful Sayers mould.

At any rate I welcome Sayers as a newish addition to the dining scene in my local area. I'll be sampling the menu further in coming weeks & hope that other 'eatingwaers' can start to fill some of the gaping holes in my review of Sayers.
