Overall:
Woo, this place does seem to go up and down looking at the reviews... Came here with a friend on a Tuesday evening. She told me the place "tries to act posh, but isn't" but the food was ok.
We were lucky to get a table, as they have special prices on pizza and pasta Mon - Weds and the place was packed.
To be honest, it was rather cramped and we had trouble fitting everything on the table... One wall was mirrored, which usually creates an illusion of space, but when what is reflected is a crowded restaurant, it just makes it look bigger and more crowded. Thinning out a table or two might improve the ambience.
Service was quite good - they weren't too grumpy at us for having tap water, and we didn't have to wait long to be seated or have orders taken. We also didn't have to wait long at all for the food to come out. It's a double-edged blade, however - While not waiting long on a crowded night is impressive, it makes me pretty sure that the meals were pre-made en mass and just doled out... Regardless, they tasted quite fresh so I don't think it was a microwave job at least.
The food was good. We had bread, Greek salad and two pasta dishes - no complaints from either of us for any of it. The servings were a good size (especially given the discounted price) and it was all quite tasty.
To be honest, I think the ambience is where this place really fails. If we had gotten the same speedy service and tasty food in a less crowded, quieter place which put more effort into presentation, the whole package would have seemed a lot classier.
