FANTASTIC! Went today for a Saturday lunch with 3 girlfriends. I had the Morrocan prawn curry which was very flavoursome, not too hot and surprisingly plenty of prawns. Two of my girlfriends enjoyed the fillet steak (good serving size) which they said was cooked perfectly and another enjoyed the venison which she said was superb. As sides we enjoyed the broccolini and the cauliflower cheese which were most enjoyable. We tried the garlic & parmesan bread for starters which was very tasty. Quite full but with the hint of sweets lingering we managed to devour 2 strawberry and apple crumble and one lemon/lime pudding followed with tea/coffee. For me to give 5 for food it must be pretty good, and this place certainly deserves this score.
Friendly and polite service staff met us on arrival and showed us to our table. Staff were quite attentive up until our order was taken and then I thought the wait from the bread to mains was just a little long. Luckily it was a girls lunch so we had plenty to chat about while we waited!
What could be better than this Spring Valley setting? A true country setting with horses nearby and a lovely outlook to enjoy. The restaurant itself is very modern, clean and inviting. My group sat in the enclosed patio which was very comfortable and not cold at all.
Overall:
Thoroughly enjoyable for my 2nd visit - both have been superb. Even though my group had a 12.30 lunch booking we departed around 5pm purely because we were enjoying a chat in such a lovely setting and without the eagerness of management to push us out the door! Would go back in a flash and would highly recommend it. For my group of 4, bread for starters, 4 mains, 2 bottles of sparkly, 2 sides of vegetables, 3 sweets and 4 coffee/tea, less the entertainment card came to around $55. No tea for me!

My husband and I dined at Stewarts for the third time on Saturday night and as usual the food was superb, service good and the setting fantastic. We are so glad we found this little gem in the valley as it is consistent and professional. We shared oysters (a little small but delicious) bread and I had the duck for a main - cooked just how I asked for it - and it was melt in the mouth delicious and husband had the fillet steak again cooked exactly to his request and it was so tender he was super impressed - especially seeing he only gets served steak that he hasn't cooked when he eats out. A salad was shared with the best bottle of de bortelli chardonnay I have had in a while and we had to decline dessert as we were pleasantly full and relaxed and we just sat and chatted and enjoyed the evening. Neil and the staff do a great job so please try it out as I highly recommend it.

I would say that this is such a lovely place to meet up for dinner with either family or friends. The place has good parking space and the door itself looked quite impressive. I caught up with a friend for dinner a week ago. We were promptly seated by staff. Fresh bread and butter were served straight away together with a bottle of water. We were advised of the specials for the evening. They had a good list of food from in the menu from entree down to dessert. We decided to have a pumpkin soup first which was very nice. It had flavour on it although not salty at all and some bread on the side. The serve was also quite generous. For mains, we both decided to try the fish. This too was very nice and the service was quite friendly, relaxed and most importantly, prompt. The ambience was lovely. You can choose either inside or alfresco dining which has a lovely small fountain and garden. We were full so we skipped dessert but had a cappuccino to finish the dinner. Overall, the service was fast and friendly and food was delicious. Everything was good except for some reason they forgot our sparkling wine that we ordered earlier in the evening but was corrected straight away after the staff realised that they forgot the drinks. It was a pleasant experience and wouldn't mind going back again. The price was also reasonable and if you the entertainment card, with a glass of sparkling, soup, coffee and a large main meal and breads, $35.00 was not bad.
Overall:
The food was interesting but not as good as it sounded on the menu - The service was friendly but a little slack in coming to serve. The food took a long time to come out but at least the ambience of the Stewarts was lovely.
Overall:
This is my favourite Modern Australian style restaurant. Firstly, the ambience and setting makes it a very pleasant place to dine in.
We have been to this restaurant 3 times now and each time is a satisfying experience. Prices are reasonable as compared to other restaurants of its calibre. Only one thing I must say that the menu is not extensive.
I would certainly recommend any of my friends to dine in.
Overall:
Stewart's has a delightful ambience. The Friday lunch I had planned for my three friends and myself. It could not have been in a more attractive setting. It was a wonderful, sunny day, horses passing on the bridle path and very relaxed, pleasant surroundings.
The menu was extensive and interesting. However, as a non shellfish eater, I found many of the dishes had 'prawns' included which restricted my choice. The food was good but not great.
Three major problems marred the experience for our group. Firstly the sparkling wine we requested refused to let the cork out of the bottle. Our waitperson struggled for sometime at our table and then returned to the bar for assistance. Eventually we got our wine, probably after about 10 minutes. I have never known sparling wine that refused to ‘pop’; perhaps it had been stored incorrectly? Secondly, when our main courses arrived one meal was not what was ordered (wrong type of Caesar salad). As the other meals were hot food we commenced to eat very slowly as our friend waited for the correct salad. The wait was at least 10 minutes again. Thirdly, at the end of our meal as we sat talking at the table and enjoying our coffee I went to the reception to pay the account for all of us in full. We then all left the restaurant and I was about to drive out of the car park when one of my guest rushed over to say the restaurant was saying we had not paid. I returned to the restaurant to find that apparently I had earlier paid someone else’s account and owed further money. I guess I should have checked the docket that was given me after I had paid more carefully but the amount was about right. The restaurant was not crowded and there were only about 6 tables of other diners. Meanwhile the restaurant 'manager' was sitting out the back of the restaurant by the car park chatting with the chefs and was probably unaware of this final event.
All in all not what the service I would have expected of a restaurant of this calibre. Maybe Friday lunch is not the best time to dine there.
Overall:
Beautiful setting, unobtrusive service although my experience this time left me a wee bit disappointed with the food. Last time I visited (six months ago) I would have given it 5 stars but this time the steak was a bit dry and the dessert platter was a bit tired.
Overall:
I have dined at Stewart's four times now and the food and service has always been wonderful. The staff are professional and friendly. The ambience in winter is cosy especially by the fire. Summer dining outside is also very pleasant. I'm looking forward to going there again very soon.
Overall:
Stewarts restaurant is a lovely dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the food - delicious - the staff were very friendly and well informed. I will definately be visiting again.
