I had a great time every time ive been there, the security and staff are very welcoming and helpful and the music is Australian and party hits but none of that head banging stuff its easy to relax with friends and enjoy the night as nothing is intrusive from the music to the atmosphere its all round great.

  • I was at The Shed for my christmas party for work and also a week later for a 21st birthday and it was amazing, we read that they had won the "Excellence for service" award nationally so were expecting big things and it did not disappoint, the service was excellent and the staff were lovely. We had a fantastic buffet for our christmas party and platters for the 21st and the food was amazing, it was quick service and you were not rushed out, we stayed in the new area with the lounges and had cocktails after dinner and it was a really lovely evening. For the 21st we had our own room and it was next to the band area and it was just one big party so its great to go somewhere which offers so much under one roof, quiet restaurant to huge party

  • This place offers it all, from the ambiant music and atmosphere in the restaurant, to a party in the private function rooms to an outdoor beer garden and band area that goes off, so its no wonder they attract such a broad demographic as there is something for everyone.

Seeing as I work near the shed I decided that our Xmas party would be here. Apart from the usual rig moral of having to tell the security that we were not going on our own (as they have a backpackers/ group license) we were on our way. I booked a room for $50 hire and a buffet dinner package for $30 per person for prawns, turkey, vegetables, salads, cheesecake, pudding, custard, cream and a bread roll, which seemed pretty good for the season. i was however disappointed when finding out that our "room" was not really a room, and it was so squashed that no person on the two large tables were able to move around each other and two chairs at the end were stuck right near the buffet, so the unfortunate souls who got in last had to wait until everyone had their dinner before they could sit down. the food was very tasty and there was a lot of it, however the attendant put small amounts of vegies and roast onto peoples plates and i had to ensure that i instructed the staff once the food had ran out (prawns and salad) as soon as they thought we'd eaten they took the food away and once again i had to bring the attendants back and ask them to leave it for a bit longer (as i'd been told it was a buffet, not a banquet!) we had a head staff attendant for our function, but they didn't do a great deal, other than ask me for the final payment, they didn't take drink orders and even asking them for free water was too much of a hassle! still in light of all this i do still go to the shed for my usual lunch and it's only because its really cheap and it tastes good and it comes our fairly quickly.

This place is fantastic for a party, a late night out or a not so quiet sit down dinner. Setup like an outback homestead, the Shed is divided into several areas including a beer garden (the Paddock) including bbq facilities where they will do a sausage sizzle every Sunday Session, and also do sundowners with lamb on a spit, a sports bar, dance-floor and stage, and main restaurant. All over the place there are huge screens showing the latest music videos and sports. There is corrugated iron everywhere along with all sorts of Aussie outback themed paraphernalia. The menu features mostly pub grub type foods, with a few fancier items like the kangaroo fillets or the crocodile skewers(must be preordered). And the prices are quite reasonable around $12-25. Its not fancy but the service and decor make up for it. The wait-staff are friendly and quick. On one occasion my kangaroo steak wasn't cooked enough but when mentioned to the waitress, it was quickly whisked away and brought back cooked the way I wanted it. In particular the Shed is very popular for functions as you can book the Sports Bar area at the back as a private function area as well as the restaurant and the pool table area. Each can be cordoned off with signs to denote whose function is where. I booked my 21st dinner here and got in too late for the pool table area(they had 3 21st parties on at the same time that night) but they were happy enough to section off the back of the restaurant with one of those accordion wall divider thingies, right in front of the big screen with the Eagles vs Swans prelim final. We were also allocated our own waitress for the night and were happy to take drinks orders on a pay as you go basis(as they weren't able to split the bill). Cocktail list wasn't all that exciting (no Horney Monkeys here!) but the fruit tingle shakers went down good and fast anyway :p Unfortunately this isn't a very family friendly place to go, being a pub and the main restaurant in the middle of it, children under 18 years can only enter if seeking a meal and must be accompanied by an adult and sign a form at the entrance to say that they will depart the premises by 8:30pm.

Recommended for lunch on a hot day with a cold beer and good company. Cheerful, good quality pub food with a lovely 'outback' sort of setting. Can be a little noisy but that's only becaause everyone's having fun.
