We thought the food was very nice and overall would give it a 7/10. The portions were fair and all of the courses with the exception of the dessert were plated very nicely. Each course was brought out very promptyly with a very short wait in between meals which was great.

Service:

The service when we first arrived was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and appeared very quickly when required. When the amount of patrons increased however it dropped off somewhat. He forgot to bring us a water bottle, didn't light our candle and had to be prompted to refill our drinks.

Ambience:

It is hard not to be impressed by the ambience of this restaurant . The decor is just lovely and the fantastic view is superb.

Overall:
Overall we found The View to be a lovely place to go for an intimate dinner. We enjoyed ourselves and would return again.

What a great treat we had last night. We had the seafood platter for 2 half a cray oysters prawns ect just fantastic and great value at $95. We were really impressed this was real food not your normal huge plate of deep fried food.

Service:

The staff were fantastic they were right on the ball and really made us feel special.

Fantastic romantic and enjoyable. The lighting was great maybe a little dark. We loved it.

Overall:
This has to be the best location in Perth. It was a really stormy night so this just added to the evening. The food and the service was first class we will be back. We are looking forward to trying the new menu starting soon. See you again

We were rather cautious about this restaurant but were so surprised at how wonderful it was. I had the lamb rack others had the curry, seafood platter and fish and chips. It was superb!! cooked to perfection and left us all commenting on how fabulous our meals were.

Service:

Excellent! Our waiter was more than willing to help and was quick with ordering drinks and food. we had a birthday party there and they were happy to cut and serve our birthday cake for free too. They mad us feel very welcome.

The food was lovely although we felt it was a little on the pricey side. My husband ordered the lamb rack which arrived with only two lamb cutlets for $38. I had oysters for entree and felt that 4 oysters for $12 was a bit expensive also. Food was presented well and flavours were lovely.

Service:

Service was friendly and attentive, however, when ordering the Wild Card Curry I asked if the curry was hot and was advised it would be mild - it ended up being very hot. When I saw the item listed on the bill at the end as "madras curry" I realised why! The waiter should know which curries are hot

Having been a fan of the establishment when it was trading as Sails, I was pleasantly surprised at the new look and feel of the restaurant. Great ambience and will be great on summer days. Our only gripe is that the comfy cane chairs didn't really work well for dining.

Overall:
Great look and feel to the restaurant and the staff were very friendly and eager to please. We stayed twice as long as our average restaurant visit so it must have been good. We look forward to trying again in summer

The Sirloin steak which both my partner and myself had was very tough, and was over cooked, the servings are also rather small, which would be ok if the food was of good quality

Service:

The service was great, we were checked on by all waiters at least every 10 minutes to see if all was ok, and the food was served rather quickly, only problem was that my friend ordered a beer and it wasn't bought out to him until 30 minutes later

Ambience:

It was a lovely restaurant, very nice inside, although it was a little dark inside, but overall it was a nice place to be.

Overall:
The restaurant itself was great, but the food let it down extremely.. the service was great, and the fat that when we got there after having booked for 12 people they didn't have a table ready for us, it took us asking them 3 times before they joined more tables together and still some people had to sit on the other side of us.. I would not recommend anybody to go to this restaurant.

The menu when we visited on 10.05.2009 was freshly updated. The Lobster in particular that was presented was excellent in quality and extremely well priced. Other members of our group shared the Seafood Platter for two, the amount of food provided was extremely generous for the price and was very fresh and flavoursome. The selection of wines was good but I was more impressed with the bar in particular the amount of various mixed drinks available. It was lovely to have a nice Long Island Ice Tea, prepared just right on the deck on such a nice day.

Service:

First class service, the owner was available and mingled with all the customers in a very nice and unobtrusive way. All the staff were knowledgeable on what was being served and were quick to fill your drinks and allowing just the right time between meals before the next course was delivered.

Ambience:

Well, what can you say, right on the beach front at Bathers Beach in Fremantle. Perhaps the nicest view in Perth, the decore was gentle on the eye, more importantly the quality of seating was great. Finally somewhere to enjoy a meal without feeling pins and needles in your behind.

Overall:
A highly enjoyable dining experience that is made even more special due to the owner making you feel welcome and important. Which is great when you are spending a good deal of money on a lovely meal. Many of us can relate to that feeling. The View sums it all up, I hope you all enjoy it as much as we all did, we'll definately be going back time and time again.

We really enjoyed this new restaurant having never been to the Lyrebird, which didn't seem to last very long - I guess because its not amongst the main hub of Mews Rd restaurants. We ordered the Seafood Platter for 2 which was very reasonably priced. Everything came out on individual plates so it was nice to share this way rather than have a tiered platter awash with chips!
It consisted of 1/2 a lobster, several scollops in their shells, bbq squid, steamed tiger prawns, oysters, battered fish of the day ,chips and a very nice salad. Plenty for 2.

Service:

We were served by very friendly staff - especially a lovely Belgium girl , but all the staff were great and very eager to make us feel welcome .

Ambience:

This place has been transformed into a very trendy and relaxing venue with lovely white rattan chairs and candlelit tables. They have an outside area where they serve bbq dinner on Sunday for $25 so we will give that a try one night.

Overall:
This place has great potential but I don't think the crowds know about it yet but once they do I would imagine it would be great for meeting friends after work for drinks/food as they also do Tappas style food so if you are not feeling that hungry you can order accordingly. We will definitely be returning.

For such a large restaurant the service was good.

We felt like we were on vacation not in the the middle of Freo. The place was pumping everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Overall:
We came here for a night out not expecting to much but were greeted by down to earth friendly staff at what has to be the best location in Perth in a restaurant that could be anywhere you would like it to be. The food was well priced as were the drinks a great night out. Thanks
