I had the Prawn Oh No (not quite how it was spelt) Curry, which I really enjoyed, though fans on spice would probably find it pretty bland. I also had the mango sobet which was really creamy and was served with lychees ( Pretty sure they were canned). There was nothing special about the food, it was simple but tasty.
Very friendly wait staff, who all aimed to please.
Toba is cutely decorated with what I'll call 'Asian Kitcsh' though it could have benfited from some music.
Overall:
Great place to go in a group- cheap and cheerful!
Overall:
We love this restaurant and has become a favourite. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, always willing to help and give suggestions. My favourite dish is the thai green curry with an entree of Toba light and easy, which has a sample of four different entrees in one. Fairly relaxed atmosphere, never too loud but often busy so wise to book ahead.
Overall:
Went with a bunch of food lovers one Thursday night. In terms of ambience it's quite ok... nice lighting and setting. Staff aren't very friendly, when one incident was, a phone rang and he made me hold some of the cutleries saying " oops gotta pick up the phone..sorry" cause we were moving from one table to another.
We ordered:
Tomato Beef-with beef strips that is chewy and not very tender.
Green Chicken Curry-it's average.
Fried Noodles-it's good.
Fish Fried in some sauce-This is my favourite amongst all..
I reckon the fish is good in this restaurant...
Will I go back? maybe not...but i will come back for some takeaway for the fish...
Overall:
Definitely has become my quick-fix Asian cuisine. Service was perfect, not many people there, and we couldn't figure out why, but the people serving really know what the customer wants.
Layout was nice with what I assume is authentic decoration and art peices. Food was great; Burmese, Indonesian and Thai were all just as good as any one-cuisine dedicated restaurant.
Couldn't really fault our dining experience, price was very reasonable.
I suggest trying this place as your next casual Asian experience.
Overall:
The Toba Oriental Dining House serves Burmese, Indonesian and Thai dishes of quite a high standard. And the good thing about it is that you get the same high standard of food every time that you go there. The service is good and the staff are friendly.
Decor is authentic down to a becak (bicycle rickshaw) in the courtyard.
